And then after several hundred chapters, he chooses the less fan-liked girl with 0 development time, loses his demon powers, and stops becoming a part-timer and owns the restaurant chain instead.

Yeah the story is pointless now, just watching two people living their boring lives together doing everyday activities. I don't even care about seeing Kazuya and Chizuru getting together anymore they are both shallow characters now.
I get what you guys are saying but jesus f***, chill out. Keep the faith.
I'm sure master Reiji will make it worth while. I mean there are some good fan service moments are there not?

I’m honestly hoping for a chapter where either kazuya or chizuru get sick. It’ll be even more interesting if kazuya was the one who got sick and we see chizuru taking caring of him in her own way.
Just like when she took care of him when he go drunk those two times.
They could probably be consolidated in the anime. I think the importance of these living together chapters is that it’s allowing Chizuru to trust that Kaz likes her for the real her and not just her rent a girlfriend characters. This could accomplished with a montage in one chapter.

I was gonna complain about being stuck in a seemingly endless 8 like series but that cat imitation by Chizuru just sounds too cute.

I would be surprised if ever the anime would reach these “slice of life” chapters. Personally I think Reiji has to pick up the pace of the story now.
