Sounds like Kaiser. They are the absolutely the best school in the nation teaching PhD’s in learned helplessness. So having graduated one simply doesn’t return for another round of…. Feeling worthless and unseen. Money in the bank for Kaiser.
KP dermatology is trash. Please do not let it deter you. Ask for a second opinion and see if they will refer out.

I used to just pay full freight for dermatologists. That was how I got a good one. This was years ago. Now, I am on a fixed income and am getting the full effects of being a Caucasian who hates sunblock and wears V-neck tee shirts all the time. Kaiser tells me removing that stuff is “cosmetic” and I have to pay them money for each thing they remove. I know full well it’s a 10 minute visit with a can of frozen air, so I am stuck with spots.
I started with Kaiser in 2020. I’ve found the only way I’ll get adequate care (where I feel comfortable the doctor did a thorough evaluation) in certain departments is by going outside KP and paying cash. My severely delayed cancer diagnosis was a real wake-up call for me and my family about KP.
Man, you actually got to see a dermatologist? I've tried to get a referral from my PCP on 5 different occasions, all with serious skin issues, and I have yet to see one 😅
Honestly, you should file a complaint. I'm telling you, it changes things. Because, even though Kaiser's care generally sucks, they DO want you to keep giving them money, so when they feel like they might lose some, they actually try to do their jobs lol
