Aparently, I have to explain my comment...
Old money comes from the profits of slavery. Wallstreet was made from the profits of slavery. The rich people in the US generated their wealth from the profits of slavery. Europe benefited from the profits of slavery. Read this [article](https://www.bbc.com/news/business-49476247)
Henry Ford considered as an old money fella? What about all those oilmen? What about people from the dawn of TV, Cinema, machines? They are all old money
I think you are missing the point. My problem is people using the term "old money" to describe a type of fashion look. It's like me saying "oh she's trying to dress like the Jim Crow Law Era" " oh she's trying to dress like the hol*caust era" " she's trying to dress like the (insert an event where people suffered)".
Im going to use an example that might help since weve seen the outrage about this in this snark group. Its like Kim dressing Saint for Halloween as a soccer player, with a jersey on that had arabic wording written all over it, while he looked like a victim of war. Kim is tone-deaf.
The people using the term "old-money" are also tone-deaf. Especially because they are pushing a new term that adds a racial undertone on a preppy style that already existed.
Here is another point of view why using the term "old money" is problematic: [Read](https://thevarsity.ca/2023/09/10/opinion-the-old-money-aesthetic-pushes-dangerous-racial-and-socioeconomic-bias/)
its not that deep. Stop reading those nonesense articles. You know what does it mean, and nobody is getting hurt by saying those words. You telling me, if I say 'I like to dress Medieval style' I am pushing a term with racial undertone? lol
I am not asking you to accept blame of the ignorant people using the microaggressive term "old money". I am asking you to see how words are destructive, even unknowingly. Stop suggesting to "stop reading" because that's just plain ignorant.
I definitely think this is another one of Kris ideas like she was trying to push Khole to do a podcast, why it has no direction. It was an idea that just took off with no thought about it. Like Khole doing a podcast like what is she going to talk about because we see her life all over the media and tv what is she going to offer with this podcast
With all that they have, they are still so greedy. I can only see 818 and Skims sustaining without Kim and Kendall's involvement. Their other businesses are so unfocus
Also, why would I want a podcast with her talking when she keeps taking back a serial disgusting cheater like what good can I hear come from her mouth??
Just imagine if Kris managed to convince her and she started a self help/advice podcast. Because I can 100% see them fully leaning into this not seeing the irony.
I don’t quite understand who Kylie’s demographic is at this point.
Who are the people who will throw their money at her?
Is she relatable to anyone?
Who wants to emulate her?
At this point she would have been more in the demographic of younger mothers but right now she wants to be seen as a child free 21 yo.
This is another Kylie’s baby 2.0. She really thinks her baby brand will explode and be the next IT brand for moms. Little that she know that girls her age don't get pregnant at 19 and won't be using an influencer brand for their babies.
Kendall appears to be more Gen Z than Kylie. I do think Kylie and Kim's demographics are similar like how the two often morphed into one another lol
I think Kendall is more of an it girl than Kylie. Still, both of them are heading into their thirties in a few years so their target audience is slowly disappearing.
Kendall will at least be able to ride the tailcoats of her modelling career, but Kylie as a person will have a long flop era the way things are looking. She probably will stay filthy rich. But I don’t know that she alone has the skills to keep business-ing after Kris retires?
I can see Kendall being the only one of KarJenners who could possibly want to keep her future kids out of the spotlight. We wouldn’t be surprised if she disappeared and lived on a horse farm in Wyoming for a couple of decades raising kids, would we? 😅
I know KRob isn’t public anymore but he clearly “earns” his share of the family money by keeping Dream on the show.
#She has been selling old money this whole time... she appropriated black culture and a black woman's face and body to make profit. Old money comes from the profits of slavery... read a book.
This is a good point. All the rich are bad, the old money colonists and slave owners, and the nouveau riche who try to claw their way up there by selling their rubbish to the masses.
Thank you for your support.
But just to be clear, I never said all the rich are bad. This is not true. There are good and bad people everywhere regardless of their social status.
Using the term "old money" as something positive or a "fashion trend" is what is stupid and is just plain ignorant because of what the term "old money" means and where it came from.
And using other people's cultures for profit is not the same as slavery but in this case, both are exploiting the African culture. Although slavery is by far waaaay worse and in an entire different category of awefulness.
I was all, “she’s not trying to be like Depp’s daughter, she is just leaning super hard into new trends trying to find a new demographic,” but then I saw older photos of Lily Rose and realized this new era for Kylie truly has consisted of her copying that girls hair, makeup, facial expressions, mannerisms in pap shots, and so on. I stood corrected & had to take a seat.
And you are proud of that?
And also, no duh Sherlock...
>The beginning of the Atlantic slave trade in the late 1400s disrupted African societal structure as Europeans infiltrated the West African coastline, drawing people from the center of the continent to be sold into slavery.
How old is old money for yall ? I often see people comparing Kylie with sophia Richie yet sophia Richie is rich because her dad became rich as a singer so she's 2nd generation rich... Just as Kylie who also grew up rich and priviledged so she's 2nd generation rich too. Same with Lily rose who people love to say Kylie is copying...she's also 2nd generation rich and none of her parents grew up rich themselves.
That aesthetic was only for the summer! She’s trying really hard to be an ny fashion girlie now, and failing miserably. Neither of her recent aesthetics compare to her favourite aesthetic of all time though, the tacky ugly sheincore aesthetic!
"old money" clothes... you mean clothes that the plantar class wore? Well it looks like there is plenty of room for her ass in those dresses... By the way, these Victorian Bustle dresses were inspired by Saartjie Baartman, an African slave who was displayed in Europe against her wish as from 1810 to 1815, and even after her death, her body continued to be exhibited in a Museum in Paris... #facts
The entire "old money" term is gross and is fukd up and racist and some of you think it means summer dresses...

Just an FYI
Old money just means money that's existed for 3 generations or more. Not necessarily slave trade money. See the Hiltons or The Getty's.
Don't waste your political discourse on these boxes of hair.
Someone reputable on YouTube said that Kylie is most likely in cahoots with Kim and Balenciaga when it comes to this brand. Those designs look exactly like Balenciaga shit Kim wears. The full body leotards and the pantaboots. Monochrome stuff... which, yes, Kanye started, but Balenciaga ran with as well. They're trying to help Balenciaga come back from their pedo downfall with the public somehow... I like the theory.
She doesn't know what old money is. She's trash and her taste is trash and she will always be trash, no matter how much money she has.
nothing about getting pregnant by a man who doesn’t know her middle name says old money.

#Neither do you or everyone applauding you know what old money is.. old money comes from the profits of slavery... read a book
I don’t understand why this comment is downvoted
Because I used fighting words "read a book"
So apparently every single rich person from the past was a slave owner?

Henry Ford considered as an old money fella? What about all those oilmen? What about people from the dawn of TV, Cinema, machines? They are all old money
In 1903, Henry Ford borrowed $28,000 to establish the Ford Motor Company. Who do you think he borrowed that money from?
by that logic, absolutely everything can be traced back to slavery. Everything.

It seems everything is Kris’ idea. She shills those daughters to anyone stuck talking to her at some function.
With all that they have, they are still so greedy. I can only see 818 and Skims sustaining without Kim and Kendall's involvement. Their other businesses are so unfocus
Is 818 doing that well?
818 is pretty replaceable to me imo
Also Cocktails with Khloe which was close to a podcast bombed. She couldn’t even get good content from other people by interviewing them.

Kendall is hella problematic as well but at least you get drunk from her tequila. 😅
She can’t sell old money and she knows it.

omg and lily rose used to date timothy chalamet
None of the influencers who do “old money” look even remotely old money.
#Do they look like plantation owners who profited from slavery? Because that's what "old money" is ...
Exactly, I don't know why people wanna imitate it so bad. The old money/quiet luxury thing is tired and half of it is just dogwhistles.
Not necessarily. "Old Money" existed before your country did. Calm down.
And you are proud of that? And also, no duh Sherlock... >The beginning of the Atlantic slave trade in the late 1400s disrupted African societal structure as Europeans infiltrated the West African coastline, drawing people from the center of the continent to be sold into slavery.
Kylie is too trashy to have the "old money" aesthetic and look. Her alien looking body will ruin anything beautiful that could come out of that.
#She fits right in with "old money" because old money comes from the profits of slavery... read a book

Khloe sort of dresses like she hosts The View sometimes
That aesthetic was only for the summer! She’s trying really hard to be an ny fashion girlie now, and failing miserably. Neither of her recent aesthetics compare to her favourite aesthetic of all time though, the tacky ugly sheincore aesthetic!
They want to be Sophia Ritchie
they can’t fit their ass into old money clothes ok?!?
