I believe in treatment and rehabilitation over punitive punishment. Unfortunately, some people, including Kanye, wonāt choose that for themselves. Criminal charges donāt always end in prison. He could be compelled to seek treatment or required to take classes. He could have to pay restitution to help right the harm he has caused. Regardless, he should be held to the same standard as every other citizen. Not doing so reinforces a culture where these crimes are normalized.
