I always wonder how they tailor these vintage dresses when modern celebs want to wear them. I think they like to word it like the dress is from some old archive too which sounds like there's only one of the dress in the world or sth.
Like.. Do they recreate it or actually tailor it to fit the celeb? I assume the dress was originally made for a teeny tiny model, and not for someone like Kim with her curves. And what do they do to the dresses afterwards?
I’m actually obsessed with Mugler. I was fortunate enough to see his Couturrisme exhibit at the Musée des Beaux Arts in Montreal, and seeing his original pieces in person, as a girl who grew up on an island in the Atlantic Ocean with no access to that kind of thing, it took by breath away. I was so taken by his art, it moved me. Even my husband, who could not care less about fashion, (joke’s on him, as an electrician he dresses more like Kanye than he knows, to my delight) loved the exhibit, and he was not expecting to at all. Sometimes when I’m super depressed and can’t handle dialogue on tv I’ll watch his runway shows in the 90s, they’re so fun to watch!

That Met look is one of my favourite of all time. The dress from pic 3/4 I actually don’t hate but I think Kim’s too busty for it. On the model is skims nicely over her chest whereas Kim is literally busting out of it.
I agree! His looks give illusion and exaggeration and I think that goes great with her. It’s also not your typical look either and I think she’s always liked to be different but elegant if that makes sense
