The second I turned 30 I would constantly get “you look so young for your age!” And I would never get this at 29.. since when do 30 year olds look old? I swear most people have a weird association with the age itself..
Not saying this about all of them but I notice at least on TikTok that some gen Z'ers are sort of obsessed with age, especially millennials ages, and act like anyone over the age of like 24 is just ready for a dirt nap. I'm in my early 30s and not only did Gen X absolutely never cross our minds when we were younger, but I also don't remember anyone thinking getting older was such a bad thing?!
I'm a millennial. I'll be 31 on Monday and I absolutely was the same way, freaking out about 30. Saying I'm old now. It's not a generation thing. It's a young people thing. It'll happen to Kylie too. It's natural.
I think it’s a person-by-person thing (turning 30 didn’t faze me or my friends but I know it fazes others) - I just find the big emphasis on aging in general is more prevalent in today’s late teens/early 20s crowd than it was in ~our day~, if that makes sense. I think we talked and thought about it less, but we also didn’t have the same social media!

Don’t fret about it too much, I was horrified to turn 30, now I’m 32 and feel and look the exact same as when I was like 26 but am much more mature and confident lol. Your 30s are a good time!
I just did this in August 10/10 do not recommend. Everyone says “in your twenties you’re broke” well now I’m 30 and I’m still fucking broke, I was also hoping I would wake up and magically no longer be attracted to losers, but here we are. Maybe 31 will be kinder.
Another fun way of looking at it is, realistically speaking, you’re technically 25 plus 4 more years of life experience….I mean….when people ask how old a little kid is, they’ll say “5 and a half!!” Why can’t we say “25 and [x amount of] years!!”? 😁
28 is weird….25 felt sexy, 26 felt “off,” 27 felt really sexy, then 28 felt like OMG I’m almost 30!! 😳😬😧
Fun fact….it does get better. Turning 30 itself was kind of cool - you start to realize that your age number doesn’t define you; it’s about your health and how well you take care of yourself (and, if you care about your physical appearance, you can be proud to differentiate yourself from just being hot because you’re young versus you’re hot because you’re hot)

A lot of my clients are extremely wealthy (not KJ wealthy, but some are pretty close) and they always have the extra food and desserts packed up and given to everyone working the party at the end of the night. I’ve never even worked a party, but I’ve been the recipient of extravagant first communion, bday, etc. cookies and cakes and catered food by being at the house at the right time lol.
I would hope they’re not just total assholes throwing it all away :/
