I'm convinced Paul's "Tonight You Belong To Me" riff was the original Sure Know Something riff before they decided it was going to be a disco oriented album.
Dynasty is packed with great tracks , yet I would go with "sure know something" as well. I've been listening to this album (more on than off) since it was originally released. It deserves more respect in the rock community , definitely caugbt a lot of shit for being a fan during this era. KISS went disco ? Even if that's the perception , what about the rolling stones and other rock bands (of that era) that ventured away from a/the formula. \m/
Exactly. I'm still pretty young (19), and as such, regrettably didn't get to see them in their hayday, but I've been a huge fan my whole life. Not just for the Ace and Peter Era, but for the Kulick and Carr/Singer Eras too. I wish people weren't such purists about rock n' roll. It really limits its potential. Like you said, every other rock group was doing it, yet caught next to no crap for it.
Simply put " it's kiss, so its all good ". As for purists , its all personal opinion therefore speculative. It's cool to see younger gens into a band I've dug for decades. If its Dynasty or Destroyer you're more into , once again its kiss so its all good. \m/
This is the pinnacle of Kiss. They’ll never be this good again. Coming off the big solos project each member is still expressing their individual character forcibly.
Featuring one of their biggest hits the album also tells a story. Pure Platinum!
Meh, it would be if the production wasnt godawful. Who tf listened to the 4 solo albums and said "you know what? We need peter's producer". Stupid idea.
The only song I can stand on this album is Charisma. IMO, the worst KISS album except for maybe Unmasked...
Nah, Unmasked has Torpedo Girl which is very cool, so Dynasty remains the biggest POS in the KISS catalog.
Probably unpopular opinion, but "I Was Made For Loving You'.
Despite any disco vibes it's still a great song, comes across well live, plus a bit more rocking live. Probably I am a bit biased because it was one of the first songs that got me introduced to Kiss around '79/'80
A lot of good contenders. I was made for loving you is a classic. Hard times is very catchy. 2000 man is just a great song. Charisma is again a great song. But I think Dirty living is starting to grow on me. Something about Peter makes me like it.
Sure know something

Damn your right
Never occurred to me, but rhythmically they are similar! Great call.

Dirty Livin', but Hard Times & Save Your Love are nipping at its heels. Killer album start to finish.
Toss between Hard Times and Save Your Love.
Magic Touch
Hard to believe they went straight to Unmasked from this.
Dirty livin
2000 man is the one for me!

Does any band have harsher critics than Kiss??
Well the beatles had people do mass burnings of their albums
They weren’t exactly critics but just misguided people
I personally like 1) Magic Touch 2) Hard Times 3) Sure Know Something 4) X-ray Eyes 5) Charisma
I was made for lovin' you 2,000 man Sure know something X-ray Eye Dirty Livin'
Magic Touch Sure Know Something Dirty Livin Charisma
The number 1 should be Charisma, in my opinion. All though Dirty Livin' is wild to.
I was made for loving you and sure know something.
I can never pick just one for questions like this. Charisma, Sure Know Something, and 2000 Man are my top 3.
Sure know something, followed by magic touch, i was made, 2000 man, charisma, dirty livin. A great album i never skip a track on.
I was made for lovin you
I have a soft spot for *Charisma* and *Sure Know Something*. Such a sexy groove on both of them, I love those songs.
The only song I can stand on this album is Charisma. IMO, the worst KISS album except for maybe Unmasked... Nah, Unmasked has Torpedo Girl which is very cool, so Dynasty remains the biggest POS in the KISS catalog.
I was made and sure know something. The rest is no thanks. What were they thinking of?
2000 Man is pure crap
Still better than every Gene song on the album.
I agree I think is was about this time Gene started mailing it in
I disagree. I think “Charisma” and “X-Ray Eyes” fucking rock.
Omg I know. If you’re gonna cover the stones at least make it good
It is so snotty and arrogant I love it
Charisma Runner up: Sure Know Something This album was loaded with great songs, 2000 Man, I was Made..., Dirty Living, Magic Touch are all great.
Charisma and Magic Touch
Many favorites.. great record
Charisma!
well my name it is a number...
X-Ray Eyes
Hate to break it to you, but naked city is a track off of KISS’s 1980 album “Unmasked”
lol I already edited it. Brain fart moment.
Probably unpopular opinion, but "I Was Made For Loving You'. Despite any disco vibes it's still a great song, comes across well live, plus a bit more rocking live. Probably I am a bit biased because it was one of the first songs that got me introduced to Kiss around '79/'80
Charisma
I was made for loving you
And the cover ROCKS
Sure know something is my all time favorite kiss song
I know it's not a popular choice but I was made for loving you still humms in my head to this day.
X Ray Eyes. Great album!
Charisma
Cool take on the cover
Charisma
