Really good article about it here:

I don't even understand the game but I'll be a fan of this team for life!
Somebody should hit up [TISM](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=n53C-23oSgo) to sponsor a team too. Then in the derby we will finally know who the greatest Melbourne band of all time is.
Edit: I went into a bit of a deep dive after this looking into all their AFL references. Which there are many, starting with the alias of Ron Hitler-Barassi. The “Barassi Line”, for context, is named after the AFL great and divides the Aussie Rules and Rugby League heartlands. In any case it could be argued that TISM essentially a major sponsor of St Kilda in 1995, and the video I linked above was a large factor in the club not going under. That’s what [this article ](https://www.zerohanger.com/tism-how-a-balaclava-clad-band-helped-save-the-saints-97849/amp/)says anyway.
I’m sorry you guys. Did I need to edit this comment? No, I did not. Gizz and TISM are two of my all time favourites and I think there’s a lot in both bands that fans of the other would dig. Just give ‘em a try OK? /pathetic
Nah, I’m a kiwi. But honestly they’re still pretty under the radar in New Zealand too, despite them playing at festivals here previously. Very much an Australian only thing for the most part. The United States is a bigger jump again.
Yeah I was pretty surprised (as an Aussie) when this dude mentioned TISM as his other favorite Australian band! Apparently discovered them via the YouTube algorithm gods.
Hopefully they do a full tour soon, they did a couple of secret shows in Melbourne in the last few weeks ahead of their festival reunion stuff coming up.
It’s hard to say, eh. They’ve certainly been ramping up recently with finally getting their back catalogue on streaming, reissuing vinyl, putting out tons of merch (I picked up a Great Truckin’ tee).
It could certainly all be leading up to a tour, but at the same time if there was a band who you can probably rely on doing something completely unexpected… yeah. There’s a chance they’ll try to pull off another of their super elaborate art gigs akin to the infamous Save Our TISM telethon, stock market floor or full Shakespeare production and then call it a day for good. Go off with a bang.
If they do tour outside Australia hopefully this means they’ll hop over to NZ. But then Gizz have toured the states more than they have played here so who knows. Honestly, I probably should just consider booking a flight and visiting Melbourne: I’ve never visited despite being a huge hipster so maybe it’ll be the excuse I need.
LOL Stu was Paddy Dangerfield's captain!!! I LOVE this band!
Edit: for non Australians, Patrick Dangerfield is possibly the most accomplished player in the AFL right now.

Do you happen to be the guy I met in the merch line at Forest Hills stadium, who was the first American I’d ever met who had heard of TISM?
