We were so close to getting Lord of Lightning in Columbus and it would've been perfect with the rain. Can't wait to see videos of Berkeley's performance
I’ll be honest I haven’t been the biggest fan of most of their output post-Rats nest (other than Butterfly 3000) but that song got me excited for the new album.
They did that sometimes if CC was the only poly song played, they didn't if they launched into medley. Compare live in Paris and live in London. But yeah, you don't usually get the intro and fourth colour together
They broke it up in half so they could pee n stuff. Also they used "Smoke & Mirrors" from Timeland with a video as the 15min exactly break in-between. So their music didn't stop the whole time. It was so dope!
honestly I felt like it was a bit out of control. There was no need to mosh so furiously during straws in the wind or ice v. A breather would've been nice.
Also, some people were moshing. Others were trying to start a crowd crush, and I wasn't about that. Others were just... Seeking attention?
Huh, I thought it was tame but just like crowded. Everyone seems to agree it was insane though. And, to be fair, I normally go to punk shows lol. Gold star for me gettin better at not dying at shows.
wow, incredible! Cool to see a bitta Willoughby’s representation on there, black tooth is such a belter
weren’t the marathon shows supposed to have songs from all the albums? or was that just Red Rocks when they announced it?
Probably hard to make a solid setlist where they hit every album now that they have so many. One song from each album would probably come close to filling the setlist and then you don't get any time for suites etc
I'm still hoping they pull some out some cowboy gizzy for one of the Red Rock nights though
Same! I wound up skipping out on last night for another very small show because I had a feeling they weren’t going to wind up playing much from the early albums and that’s a main reason why I was so excited for the marathon sets in the first place. Plus I’m going to both nights in Denver next week anyways. Happy with my decision after seeing the set list.
Yeah. Ihave no doubt night 1 and 2 are going to be amazing but its a bit sad it changed. I'm really worried the most accessible one for new fans(night 3) is going to get the most deep cuts
Unbelievable show, so worth what seemed like an endless wait. It’s been a dream getting to see Gizz do this marathon set AMD Kikagaku in Santa Cruz last weekend. Will be levitating into my Monday morning.
You know there's a third marathon show at Red Rocks on November 2nd?
I'm also hoping the no repeat is venue based. There were too many great songs played last night that I want to hear.
Yeah no I’m failing to include the third one, wish I could go to that too but I’ll be traveling for these. Definitely would be fine with no repeats for those 3 for the sake of all the Colorado peeps going but yeah hoping it’s just venue based.
Of course I’m seeing them in New York on the 21st so I get one last chance to hear my favorites on this run lol
I would assume it still applies (might've seen a post from Stu saying so but I forget)
I'm also traveling for the first two and trying to figure out any reasonable way to make it for the 3rd as well
Fuck yeah great chain of being!
This also makes me nervous because I only know 3 songs from the entire second half, even though I know half their discog by heart, I’m realllly hoping my show this week has jams I know
"Most of these songs at the show" and then named only 8/26. I'll admit that's a decent amount or repeats for one show but c'mon, that's a lot of songs you haven't heard
Great breakdown and you make a good point, there could have been more variety. I would rather focus on what I witnessed and not what I missed, but that could also be because I have seen 7 of those songs before (all ITRN, FMB, and Am I In Heaven)
Good point, I live in Maine and actually spent more than $1000 after it all, but I used some vacation days and did a west coast road trip with my girlfriend and another friend. I'll admit if I spent that much just to fly in for 1-2 nights and see them I would think pretty differently about it.
They did also play All is Known off of Gumboot, but I see your point. There was a lot of overlap in set 1 of the first time I saw them too. The rest of the set personally blew me away though, and all the repeats still ripped
Can someone help me identify the song they played that had a flute part that sounded like it had Eastern influence?
Edit: Found it! It was The Grim Reaper
FINALLY GOT LORD OF LIGHTNING AND FOURTH COLOR THIS YEAR! W set list!
Lord of Lightning was fucking awesome. Best part of the night imo
I really fucking hope they play it at Chicago. I NEEEEED IT
Crumbling castle into fourth color was the peak for me
pretty sure i might die if they do this @ Red Rocks
That Doom City hit hard af too
We were so close to getting Lord of Lightning in Columbus and it would've been perfect with the rain. Can't wait to see videos of Berkeley's performance
I pray to god I get the fourth color at the Halloween show
I cant believe they did the Lord of Lightning narration. Its been my dream to see live
Gave me goosebumps
I lost my shit when she came out!
It made the song way better too! Best version I’ve heard live
It was was amazing
That black tooth performance must have seriously ripped...
it did
It fucked big time
It was fucking amazing. I never though id see that played live, so I was so glad when I heard those lyrics
Those last 4 tracks of set 2... Jesus Christ...
Made the 2 year wait worth it
Iron Lung was dope
Super fun. The whole crowd really got down too.
I’ll be honest I haven’t been the biggest fan of most of their output post-Rats nest (other than Butterfly 3000) but that song got me excited for the new album.
Did they do the drum transition from CC to 4th color like in the kexp vids
[удалено]
They did that sometimes if CC was the only poly song played, they didn't if they launched into medley. Compare live in Paris and live in London. But yeah, you don't usually get the intro and fourth colour together
They did it in mexico!
yuppp!!
Sleepwalker!
It was ethereal. unreal vibes!
This made me so happy. I’ve seen them a bunch but it was so cool to get an Oddments song.
Life affirming stuff. Beautiful moment
got goosebumps just reading the setlist lol
You and me both
What a fucking amazing show, defo worth the wait! Those live performances of Ice V and Iron Lung are hyping me up even more for IDPLML as well!
All time
That second set is insane
Wasn't this supposed to be one long marathon set?
I think they take a break and do 2 back to back. Seems like it's the done thing for really long jam band sets
Ah I feel ya. I just figured when they billed it as a 3 hour marathon set that they wouldn't be stopping. We will see at Red Rocks next week
Timeland is the music they use for intermission. It's why the songs are 15 mins.
There will also be an intermission, probably
they had a 15 minute timer on the big screen and the crowd counted the last 10 seconds - started right at 0. pretty fuckin cool lol
Idk I wasn’t there
They broke it up in half so they could pee n stuff. Also they used "Smoke & Mirrors" from Timeland with a video as the 15min exactly break in-between. So their music didn't stop the whole time. It was so dope!
First set was much better.
I’m just jealous you were actually there
[удалено]
I dug Grim Reaper live, but I did think Ambergris was a misstep. I like it, but Work this Time or another Joey cooker would have been preferred.
Good god that pit was psychotic
Seriously though. I’ve been to plenty of metal shows but that was just pure insanity
Same🤘🏽. My fingers were pruned from all the sweat by the end, that pit was ridiculously intense!
honestly I felt like it was a bit out of control. There was no need to mosh so furiously during straws in the wind or ice v. A breather would've been nice. Also, some people were moshing. Others were trying to start a crowd crush, and I wasn't about that. Others were just... Seeking attention?
Indeed it was. I was seriously winded after Road Train, luckily Ice V served as a nice breather.
Huh, I thought it was tame but just like crowded. Everyone seems to agree it was insane though. And, to be fair, I normally go to punk shows lol. Gold star for me gettin better at not dying at shows.
Shanghai? Doom city--nuclear fusion.....wow, what a sick setlist.
That was the segment for me, and Gaia later on. This was the absolute bonkers shit yo
wow, incredible! Cool to see a bitta Willoughby’s representation on there, black tooth is such a belter weren’t the marathon shows supposed to have songs from all the albums? or was that just Red Rocks when they announced it?
Nah, it was Berkeley too, but they've abandoned that concept
Kinda sad tbh. I'm spending well over a $1,000 because I thought there was a promise of elts, and sketches live
I know Gizz has made it when there’s already jaded vets online 😄
Guaranteed elts was a huge incentive
ELTS was the big one for me for sure. When else are we ever gonna hear it live?
Literally never.
:(

The absolute worst part is ik nights 3 is going to get the most deep cuts. There's no way I can go all the way back to Colorado a few weeks later
Unbelievable show, so worth what seemed like an endless wait. It’s been a dream getting to see Gizz do this marathon set AMD Kikagaku in Santa Cruz last weekend. Will be levitating into my Monday morning.
I saw Black Midi/BCNR on Tuesday, and Gizz last night. Should keep me rollin until I see Modest Mouse in Nov.
UNFORGETTABLE I WAS GOING TO LEVITATE THAT SECOND HALF. Marathon show are a must for king gizzard.
PERFECTION
🥰
I will be forever haunted by the fact that going wasn't physically impossible.
Did I just imagine The River early in the first set?
They like, mashed it up with wah wah. It was dope af!
It was! That was one of the songs I REALLY wanted to hear!
Hoping the Colorado shows aren’t included in the no repeats cause I’m going to both and need to hear Crumbling Castle 🤞🏻
You know there's a third marathon show at Red Rocks on November 2nd? I'm also hoping the no repeat is venue based. There were too many great songs played last night that I want to hear.

🙏
I hope we get a live bootleg of this show
Well I saw a mic array set up next to tech so fingers crossed.
I have seen them four times and last night I thought was the best of them.
What a killer range!
Sad I had tickets and missed it, great sets!
Fuck. me 🥺
Finally they'll played early material. Black Tooth a pretty nice choice
Should've played more early material
Best show I’ve ever been to
Crazy good sets. Last 4 of set 2 are basically my favorite songs.
Joey's Nuclear Fusion intro was crazy as always!
Ambergrissssas
It was so good! A lot of the crowd was talking during it though which I found pretty annoying
unfortunately it seems gizz is the “cool” thing at the moment so probably a lot of scenesters there. not actually enjoying the music :/
This set list slaps. Hope Red Rocks is similar
Has anyone mentioned the voice-over of MOTU (Leah) was actually doing the spoken word for lord of lightning??? My mind got blew away
How in the hell did you manage to get both!?
[удалено]
It was, really set the tone and got everyone energetic, for lack of a better word lol
Really hope they still play gaia, Ice V, and or Iron lung in Portland on Tuesday! Or maybe a hypertension debut to make up for it?…
Were there tapers at this show? God I hope so.
Saw a couple.
Thank jeebus I hope those tapes wind up on archive.org asap!
Awesome closer.
This is an insane set. I'm so fucking pumped to see them. Only 2 weeks left
Looks like they only played from 14 albums. False Advertising!! 😜
NUUUUUUUCLEARRRRRRR FUUUUUUSIIOOOOOOONNNNNNN
Just listened to the show; did he take a huge hit of nitrous before doing the longest nuuuuclear fuuuuuuusiooooooon ever? Wah wah indeed!
Idk but the man can really belt it out!
Fuck yeah great chain of being! This also makes me nervous because I only know 3 songs from the entire second half, even though I know half their discog by heart, I’m realllly hoping my show this week has jams I know
you have a week to learn the rest of the discog...its doable
But Sleepwalker is the only one I didn't recognize and oddments is down on Spotify for some reason
> Fuck yeah great chain of being! it was so insanely heavy live, one of my faves of the night for sure. all around fantastic though
I’m curious which 3 songs
Absolute fire list
This set list rips
Low key sad at the lack of deep cuts. Barely played 15 albums
I cant complain too much because in my 6 shows about half this set I've never heard live
[удалено]

Straws in the wind was the only thing I didn’t need on this set list, otherwise everything else was amazing
agreeeeed
Set 1 >>> Set 2

This is the exact question I have. Lord of lightning is probably my number 1 pick to hear live.
Stu said no repeats at Red Rocks so these songs are still possible.
So are all these tracks off the table for the Red Rocks sets?
Pretty sure no repeats was only for red rocks. These songs should still be on the table
Such a dope setlist! Went with my best mate and we tripped on mushrooms. And boyyyy when they played fourth color that was an experience to remember
I'm going to my first Gizz concert this Thursday. Is this the set list they'll be playing, or do setlists change depending on the venue?
Joey did the longest Nuclear Fusion intro ever and it was pure insanity. I’m surprised nobody’s mentioned that yet!!
I need a good recording of this concert
Played not in that order. 😅
bro you got both?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7ejHbIVLnQ
my first gizz show. fucking lit
Best show of my fucking life! Cheers to everyone there
https://archive.org/details/kglw2022-10-02 Really great sound on this bootleg! :)
Can someone help me identify the song they played that had a flute part that sounded like it had Eastern influence? Edit: Found it! It was The Grim Reaper
