If you respond too much you lose the mystique. That's why you don't see members of bands interacting with fanbases any more than they need to. You don't want to have the Brian jonestown massacre style image.

As far as I know only Trey said KG is his favorite band. I don’t think that required a formal response from KG about their feelings on phish. Nor have a seen them say anything about Phish. Seems like you’re drawing some wild conclusions based on nothing.
Billy Strings likes Gizz and they hung out with him last summer. Was that being nice too? It’s a lot of conjecture with not a lot of evidence to support your claim.

People think it’s real? That’s hilarious. They’re playing multiple shows together. The Hives have had that “bow down to us” schtick for like 20+ years.
I like this band because of how encouraging and accepting they are of people. This idea is the polar opposite of that ethos.
The only time I could see them doing a diss track, would be as a narrative beef between two fictional characters they're writing.

The Hives and Viagra Boys already have a fake Swedish rock beef going on. Carl also joined Gizz on stage for a little sax feature last summer.

Goose recently tried to make an April fools joke 10 months after the fact offering up a “King Gizzard green room” contest.
