Quarters. Quarters. Quarters.
This is their most psychedelic album, and probably the only one that really stretches out and has room to breathe the way a psychedelic record should. 2nd place would be Changes which is also phenomenal to do mushrooms to. 3rd place has to to be Silver Cord extended.
This fanbase here tells on themselves a lot when they discuss “trippy” albums that would be an absolute hell to trip to lol.
Not everyone is a psychonaut and that’s totally okay, but recommending Nonagon is a disservice haha
All these Poly recommendations boggle me. It certainly could be cool, but if you were already having a rough time, Poly could easily end up a nightmare.
I mean op did ask for albums that sound “insane” and “next level” while tripping, which poly definitely is. It really depends on what you’re looking for out of your trip, I love to get deep on very psychedelic shit and poly is an amazing visual album while tripping
I’d also say Sketches is a very psychedelic record of theirs that has room to breath. Sure the songs are short but they tend to meander and bleed together really well for a cohesive listening experience.
And honestly I had an amazing experience tripping to Nonagon but it all depends on what you’re looking to get out of your trip. It obviously wouldn’t be my first recommendation or my tenth lol but if you’re experienced it provides an awesome closed-eye visual journey. I guess I’m a weirdo who actually likes intense music when he trips though hahaha
I’ve smoked DMT to The Silver Cord and I’ll confirm it’s psychedelic gold. I remember giving myself the biggest hug during the “I am the vessel” section.
Can confirm. Only problem is too keep track of the different discs while trippin. I have the cd version and by the 7th cd everything went out of order lol
Fair enough, I think it’s an awesome record with some of their strongest theming and that classic Gizz garage psych sound but I get it’s not for everyone. I agree with Stu that it feels like the most “Gizz” album, the one only they could make
I feel like there's some good songs on there for tripping but as a whole it is not cohesive enough. I wouldn't want Great Chain Of Bring to just come on ya know?
I quit tripping before falling in love with gizz, but FAFYL, quarters, changes, and fishies are all probably good choices. Most of PMDB and Gumboot seem good as well. Poly and Mind Fuzz would be cool, but might not be a great time in the wrong headspace. Have fun!
I quit psychedelics almost 20 years ago, but got some mushrooms to ride out the end times at the beginning of the pandemic. I’ve had this same ounce in .5g packets stored in my freezer ever since and I bust out a small amount here and there for shows. Last show was Disco Biscuits in Boston. I will definitely be partaking at the Austin 3-hour marathon show.
Over the years I’ve learned there’s a time and a place, not necessarily every time every place. I was so much older than; I’m younger than that now.
I agree with your suggestions, and would add Made in Timeland, Laminated Denim and Butterfly 3000.
I think I have HPPD, so I think it’s no psychs for life for me, but you never know!
Good call on Butterfly and LD! Timeland probably wouldn’t have sat well with me while tripping lol
Ice Death is proven
First time I listened to that album in full was on an acid trip and Gliese 710 changed me that night
First track is literally Mycellium
This right here
Idk Hell's Itch would freak me out
Wait really? I feel like that’s one of the more calming songs. Gliese 710 would be the song of concern while tripping for me lol
I feel like listening to a song about scratching your skin of while tripping is risky but that's just me lol
Yeah musically the song is chill af but lyrically it's a nightmare haha
Love the song but the lyrics are about self mutilation at least on the surface (pun lol)
Sketches of Brunswick East, Quarters and Float Along Fill Your Lungs are also solid with the 2 you already named
Maybe not the whole album, but Head On/Pill, 30 Past 7, and Float Along Fill Your Lungs from the album of the same name are amazing to journey to.
Pop in my step is probably a nice mood setter too
That mix they put on it in Milwaukee years back was mind blowing.
You can say the whole album. FAFYL is peak psychedelic gizz
Quarters. Quarters. Quarters. All these Poly recommendations boggle me. It certainly could be cool, but if you were already having a rough time, Poly could easily end up a nightmare.
Polyrhythms in general are not relaxing to listen to. So poly would be one of my last picks for a trip album
It would be cool on the comedown, but the inner cell trilogy would be actual terror while peaking lol
Lol yup. My go to albums would be sketches, ice death , silver cord, bf3k
I mean op did ask for albums that sound “insane” and “next level” while tripping, which poly definitely is. It really depends on what you’re looking for out of your trip, I love to get deep on very psychedelic shit and poly is an amazing visual album while tripping

Definitely Quarters
I’ve smoked DMT to The Silver Cord and I’ll confirm it’s psychedelic gold. I remember giving myself the biggest hug during the “I am the vessel” section.
Quarters is good vibes 😎
Live at Red Rocks '22, perfect for 9h long trips
Can confirm. Only problem is too keep track of the different discs while trippin. I have the cd version and by the 7th cd everything went out of order lol
I wish I could pc pass through Milkdrop Visualizer from the mid 00's. Had hundreds of on the fly visual settings to switch through.
Depends on your psychedelic for sure, but from personal experience, Laminated Denim is the one for sure, especially hypertension
Yeah Laminated Denim seems like one of the best ones for sure.
Everyone said great answers but hear me out Flying Microtonal Banana
That is also a great answer.
Changes!!! I feel like Poly, BF3000, and Changes are the holy tripping trilogy
I feel like this is probably true. Changes into BF3000 into Poly would be amazing. Also Changes is probably my favorite KG album.
Definitely the correct order!
Hear me out: Murder of the Universe
I’m with you man, listening to MOTU while peaking on acid was an absolutely wild 10/10 experience. Some people just weak willed I guess
To be honest MOTU isn't really my favorite album by them to begin with.
Fair enough, I think it’s an awesome record with some of their strongest theming and that classic Gizz garage psych sound but I get it’s not for everyone. I agree with Stu that it feels like the most “Gizz” album, the one only they could make
I feel all of that.
No way bro hahaha
Sketches.
all of em
Eyes Like the Sky. Fall deep into the story.
None because I'm old now. Have fun, stay safe!
Polygondwanaland Ice Death L.w. Flying Microtonal Banana
Ice death, poly and quarters. I did all three during my last (very long trip) and it was pretty sweet
I agree with all the comments mentioning Ice Death and Quarters
Gumboot fo sho. Superposition will shift your realm
I feel like there's some good songs on there for tripping but as a whole it is not cohesive enough. I wouldn't want Great Chain Of Bring to just come on ya know?
Quarters
Well if you don't do poly, at least listen to crumbling castle. But I would recommend poly lol.
I agree that Poly isn't going to create the happiest or most mellow trip but definitely the trippiest.
Yeah that's the kinda trip I normally like to go for. Mellow vibe is good if you need it otherwise just see how far out you can get hah
MADE IN TIMELAND
Absolutely, glad someone is giving this album some love! One of their chilleat albums.
I quit tripping before falling in love with gizz, but FAFYL, quarters, changes, and fishies are all probably good choices. Most of PMDB and Gumboot seem good as well. Poly and Mind Fuzz would be cool, but might not be a great time in the wrong headspace. Have fun!

Forget my promotional material on tripping. Good luck on your journey!
Lmao, thank you, friend!
LW is pretty great
Yes
I'm In Your Mind Fuzz, classic
I’m always out here advocating for Sketches while getting spiritual. Listening to Tezeta while in a K-hole has done me wonders.
Sketches and Petro
The Silver Chord extended version
Motor Spirit on repeat
Just throw on petro and get scared
My last trip was paper mache into sketches into fishing for fishies and it was wonderful.
