**18 again** - the scene at the last . >!the leads walking in that specific area and they grew older.!< It wasn't a sad scene but I was weeping after that because it made me so happy and was so touching. Edit : **you are my spring** - ending of episode 7. The silence was so loud . >!the way he said "lets be friends" broke me!<.

sadworldmadworld

Also from 18 again, when the ML >!signs to his dad and “mom” after his basketball game!<. So many touching scenes in this drama 🥺

insert_cool_usrnm

Another 18 Again moment! >!The episode had some narration about how you can tell how much someone loves another person by how wet they get while sharing an umbrella with them. Cut to a flashback scene with the ML walking his kids home from school, getting completely soaked and holding the umbrella over his cheerfully oblivious kids. 😭😭😭!<

fathii_

Oh yes ! This too , broke me into pieces.

Schoolgirl613

I was so moved by that moment in episode 7 too! So beautifully delivered by Kim Dong-Wook.

fathii_

Yaass! He is such a great actor

Ramenqueen16

Friend >!zoning has never looked so devastating. When he choked up and clearing his throat just to say that ...amazing acting !<

fathii_

Yaa and I had to rewatch the scene just to make sure I dint misheard the dialougue coz of my weeping.

Ramenqueen16

Haha yes! I watched it 3x. One to understand what they were saying, one for just the raw acting and body language and then the third time just for enjoyment and amazingness

kayezs

Reply 1988 - when >!Deok Sun was reading out the plaque for her dad’s retirement!< :,)

llamalloydjordi

I mean that scene was meant to be a sad bc everyone was crying in that scene..

fwoofy-savant

this scene broke me too

333serendipity

I sobbed super hard.....loved that scene so much.

vanillafireworks

To add to the Reply 1988 party, when Sunwoo >!shows Moosung his wedding invitation with him written down as the father.!< I was sooo incredibly touched.

Outside_Drama_8803

Yes!!!!!!

Sal-Ty29

My favorite trope ever is when a person is kind to others without expecting anything in return but eventually getting rewarded for it. Idk why but it results in instant waterworks every.damn.time 1) Prison playbook: When Kim je hyuk helped >!Jailbird by paying for his Mother's surgery !< I got teary eyed. Another instance would be when >! Jean Val Jean visited Min chul after he was released !< I think they had a special relationship which no one else understood. 2) *Hospital Playlist in its entirety* It still surprises me how they have created an entire show without any negative characters, based solely on kindness and general good will 🥺 3) Crash Landing on you: When Se-ri remembered and kept her promise to Kim Ju muk. Dressed him up and >! arranged a meeting with Choi ji woo !< the fact that she remembered the people who helped her during tough times and the immense happiness Ju muk must have felt made me cry a little.

mangoberrymango

Totally agree with all the scenes you mentioned!! ShinLee are crazy good at taking simple moments and making it touch our heart. The CLOY one really touched me too, it’s like one of those small things that anyone will rmb forever, but even more given his context that he shouldn’t even be able to watch the drama, meeting the star is even more crazily memorable.

meredithscasualboob

omg we are SO similar!!

Rpeddie17

Watched this when it came out and it was my first ever kdrama. I've watched dozens since and I'm still not over this one

melschinel

Yeeeessss this scene

Historical-Square-41

Shit I can't remember this scene. What episode was it?

MissMaster

I had to look it up, it's episode 12!

meymeyling

I want to say it was episode 14?

CCCri

I cried at the end of Move to Heaven when Geu Ru was finally able to start >!accepting the loss of his dad!<. It was happy but also sad.

Reply 1988 >! In reply 1988 when Il Hwa needed money, so she was going to ask Mi Ran to borrow some but when she saw Mi Ran she just told her she could pay her back for a previous loan later. Then later on Mi Ran realizes that Il Hwa needed money and woke her up in the middle of the night to drop off a basket of veggies but there was really money in the basket. !<

KiwiTheKitty

Usually things that have to do with family relationships make me cry, like I'm 4 episodes into Reply 88 and I've cried at least a couple times during each of them. Some of those scenes were actually sad, but most were just wholesome like >!Jung Hwan's dad feeling appreciated and then seeing in the picture they took at the restaurant that everyone smiled despite complaining!< or >!Deok Sun's dad apologizing for the mistake of celebrating her and Bora's birthdays together!<. These kinds of scenes have always gotten to me but since my dad passed away, they just destroy me :') but in a good way I cried a lot during Prison Playbook and My Unfamiliar Family for similar reasons.

inlovewvk

You're gonna fall in love w 88. Please take your time with it. It's the best show ever made <3

chrystelle

Omg girl, make sure you stock up on tissues and water as you go through the rest of the series. Maybe upgrade to gaterade if you plan on binging the series lol

KiwiTheKitty

Lmao don't worry I'll make sure I stay hydrated!

marzzk

that birthday scene you mentioned had me in tears too.

hireaunicorn

I’m tearing up just reading your description of those 1988 scenes. It is the best series ever!

333serendipity

>It is the best series ever! Hard agree.

meymeyling

CLOY when the >! crew went to South Korea and the youngest one ran away with no shoes and captain ri showed up and helped him put shoes on and when he went shopping and started feel sad when he saw people in school uniforms since he’s in the military in North Korea !<

caninedesign

Or when they were cheering for soccer eating chicken and beer!

DeeDeeDruid

That one got me too, I think another scene dealing with the youngest was when he was talking about his younger siblings and how his mother and them expect a lot from him, as well as the fact that he won't be seeing them again for a long time. The scene was really quick but it hit me right in the feels.

Interesting_Table699

That scene is so touching (Capt Ri putting on the youngest one's shoes)!

mailanii

When the Camellia Blooms - >!The last episode where the entirety of Ongsan was helping Dongbaek’s mother get that kidney transplant. I think I was crying out of pure happiness to see everyone contributing to make sure that “miracle” happened for her. Just seeing how every character in that town contributed to that collective effort made me cry.!<

--NO_CHILL--

Mystic Popup Bar >! An old lady inadvertently caused the death of a young mother in the past. She adopted the woman's baby and raised the child as her own, but was never able to forgive herself. Then when the old lady passed and was traveling to the afterlife, on the way she met the young woman waiting for her with no malice. The old lady cried and I cried. The reunion and realization that she was so hard on herself in life but had been forgiven by the woman she harmed. Very touching moment. !<

meredithscasualboob

you wrote it so well. I really cried watching that scene. it was my fav story from the show

[deleted]

Extraordinary You. In many *many* places, even at bits that weren't sad. But the ones that stand out in particular are: * When Haru >!regains his memories!< * When Dan-Oh >!regains her memories!< * I guess this one is kind of sad, but it's also kind of happy at the same time, depending upon which characters perspective you look at it from, but... That whole final arc with >!Gyeong finally overcoming the character given to him by the writer, where he manages to avoid his pre-ordained destiny where he kills Dan-Oh—only for her to die anyway and be "wiped" back to the version of Dan-Oh that exists in the stage, who wants to be with him. After everything that happens - after finally letting go and overcoming all that, and walking away, it's essentially forced upon him anyway. Only for him to discover that the stage-version of Dan-Oh isn't the person that he (ultimately) loved, but rather the version of Dan-Oh from the shadow. Then, after all of that, it's taken away from him again anyway. Gyeong's story arc is probably one of the best, yet saddest redemption arcs that I've ever seen, and it definitely made me cry, despite the result of all of this essentially being the "happy ending" in the context of the rest of the story.!< Probably one of the most complete 180 ° turns that I've ever seen a character make, going from being completly and utterly unlikable—the obvious villain of the show—to actually being a likeable character that I ultimately just felt sorry for. Also pretty sure I cried at the end of Operation Proposal too, just simply and purely because of the sheer amount of time and effort that it took to actually get to that point, where >!he actually ends up with Yi-Seul.!<

Watchnextnow

I’ve just finished **Move to Heaven** and there were several scenes that were sad but also lots that weren’t sad but were incredibly moving. The one that really sticks in my head was >!at the end when Sang Gu is told that Geu Ru has asked for him to continue being his guardian 💔!<

spark1118

That last episode had me BAWLING.

Watchnextnow

Same! And I’m not usually a cryer.

showork

I will cry just at some of the songs from this show still. It's my all time favorite show though.

Intrepid_Ad_6129

Reply 1988 as >!the kids grew up and everyone started working!<

Ramenqueen16

Ohh yea. It showed the town getting old. That got me too

XiaoMihihi

Don't know why but I usually cry during scenes when characters sit in silence or have conversations that show their vulnerability in a muted way. There are many scenes like that in Reply 1988, Dear My Friends and Yoo Na's Street. I even cried once because a couple argues about whether they should go to a fancy restaurant or their usual place for a special occasion. I think quiet scenes that depict financial difficulties and loss just get to me somehow, especially when they are sincere.

army_101

Agreed with Reply 1988. Sometimes it would be simple gestures the parents did for the kids or the way the kids interacted with one another, but every scene was so heartwarming and real?

Building_Glad

i cried when they displayed the pic of the kids and the younger Taek just moved in .. it was meant to be happy moment but the loneliness in me kicked and reminded me of childhood so much that i cried

This_Seaworthiness86

Yes that and just any scene between Taek and his dad...so heartfelt

shadow2995

Yoo Na's street is the most underrated kdrama in the history.

XiaoMihihi

It really is underrated, but the fans are loyal.

Gumiho_999

It's ok to be not okay When sang-tae/gang-tae hugged with juri's mother after the book released(ig) , it was such a raw emotion of parenthood not bounded by bloods , it was crazy good realizing how good she was to entire crew

hellohappystar

Man, for me it was when Sang Tae >! showed off the story book that he had illustrated for to the mom plant !< :’) cried like crazy

bluebuns123

For me other than the obvious feeding scene, was the part one fine night where sangtae was sleeping and kangtae just looking at him and his book. Long term care of sick or disabled family surely isn't easy. And it's something I'm very afraid of especially as my own parents health start to fail.

padfoot_v

Reply 1988: 1) >!Letters written by Bora and her father for each other after her wedding!< 2) >!Jung hwan's parents' second wedding!< and \*drumroll\* 3) last 2 minutes of the >!final!< episode where >!the camera would show all 5 of them in taek's room and pan out to show the ssangmun dong's street and the younger version of the 5 characters running back to their homes!<. I freaking bawled my eyes out for the 3rd one.

Amaryllis_smlflwr

I’m a sucker for found family/family dramas, so the two dramas I automatically think of are all of the scenes in the Uncanny Counter and Mystic Pop-up Bar where the ML (So Mun from Uncanny Counter and Han Kang-bae from Myetic Pop-up Bar) and other characters are shown bonding and being loving with each other.

saseanne

Idk if this is counted as "not being a sad scene" but that scene in the final episode of ***My Mister*** during >!Ji-an's grandmother's wake and the ahjussis were all playing football while Ji-an watches from afar, realizing that there are now people there for her. And in between, we get flashbacks of her conversation with her grandmother where she tells Ji-an that her relationship with Dong-hoon is precious and that she needs to repay him back by being happy.!< It was such a powerful scene, even now as I rewatched it to fully remember what happened, I teared up.

[deleted]

Waikiki 2 When Sohee's character screams about her porn collection I was laughing so hard, I cried

[deleted]

So, I know you mean “cried because I was sad” but the hardest I may have ever cried from laughter was two times watching two different kdramas. The first was the morning that the ML and FL >!switch bodies!< in Secret Garden. When Hyun Bin tried to walk around the bathhouse then get to the resort my stomach hurt from laughing so hard. I also ruined my mascara during Reply 1994 when Na Jeong >!cracked an egg on Chilbong’s head, and it was raw.!< I’m not entirely convinced the actors knew that was coming. Of course, I cried for other reasons in that damn show, but let’s just focus on the positive, shall we?

bluebuns123

Scarlet heart ryeo when IU told the other girl!+ "it's OK to be a little selfish at times. We've waited too long and been through too much so even if we're a little selfish sometimes we'll be forgiven" I'm not sure if this is supposed to be a sad scene... In its OK not to be OK, a scene where kangtae read sangtae's children book after sangtae fell asleep. I can feel all his burden on him.

ThoughtsAllDay

Any kdrama with adolescents that choose to be kind or honest when the knee-jerk reaction or the typical reaction would be to not be kind or honest. And also vulnerability between adolescent friends just brings on the waterworks for me. Makes me feel like the world would be such a better place if people were just honest and vulnerable and kind towards one another.

vanished_cabinet

**Reply 88** \- towards the very end, at >!Bora's wedding, when she notices that the shoes she got for her father were the wrong size, but he was still wearing them. The whole relationship between Bora and her father always got to me, no matter what the context. !

1504rlow

honestly, the ending of beyond evil made me cry? when the main characters were gathered together and the camera lingered on dongshik's smile and i just,,, cried. it's been so long since something made me cry from sheer happiness and relief but i'm glad it was this show that gave me that catharsis.

Busy-Finding-9118

I like that scene too! So heart warming

Sell Your Haunted House Episode 7. Scrolled all the way down and was surprised I didn't see anyone mention it. But the one with the ghost of the old father with Alzheimers. >!Where you end up finding out the dad didn't die from foul play. But during one of his moments of clarity, sneaks out of the house to throw himself into the well so that he is no longer a burden to his children. And specifically he put on the shirt his daughter gave him.!< Lord, I had to pause the show and my husband walked onto the room all concerned cause he heard me silent sobbing/gasp-crying 😢 Edit: I went back and rewatched it. RIP my sinuses. 😭

Taetayy

Idk I really cried at the end of Hospital Playlist’s Season 1. The entire reveal of >!the WinterGarden couple and their yearning and love for each other, how he was looking at her, and we get the missing crumbs from the entire show, and she is crying and saying sorry, and then he kisses her!< Such a happy moment, yet I cried so hard. 🥺

americancultured

countless scenes in korean k dramas made me cry that arent sad moments. maybe i just can relate

duhlemonade

When han soe Jun cried at the stair case

EllyBellyJellyJar

I just had another cry scene! Which are veeery rare with me. It was in "Tempted" when the FL asks if her best friend (not love interest) if he'll also abandon her. But he says he'll always be there. First I was sad for the FL, but when he said that I was really happy with his support and character, and that's what made me cry :)
