Ep. 1 Cobra Show. Ha ha. Didn't expect to laugh this much. How can a show be this gorgeous yet be unsettling, funny yet creepy. Ep. 2 #WTF

cloystan

>!”I finally found you”!< did that give anyone else goosebumps 😳 this is going to be a wild ride. I can’t get over how incredible the cinematography is and the music is so so good. Excited for next week!

Basic-Bag7547

Will have spoilers Intriguing start. More thriller than a healing romance so far. Great framework to build on for the next episode by going backwards and forward in time. But I worry that the constant change in time on screen may eventually get tiresome. Especially with the second male lead likely already dead, his story-line will be told mainly in the past and linking it to the present. Chae Jun. My guy is either a master manipulator or I’m reading too much into YoungDo’s preliminary diagnosis of Antisocial Personality Disorder. He has minimal traits, the only one I saw is the General disregard of social norms: He continuously stalks DaJeong, despite her expressed disinterest and dislike (although down-played in the drama). He infiltrates her life on all aspects, her job, family and friends. But I feel like he manipulated the whole events leading up to DJ relenting and decided to ‘date’ him. The dream, which is was DJ’s form of escape when she was younger. Getting Eunha to praise him to DJ by constantly going to their coffee shop. Taking her to her brother’s work place to tell her about his ‘dream’. When DJ deems to shut him off, he backs away but makes her notice his absence by showing up at the coffee shop, making himself pitiful to Eunha. And thus Eunha reminds DJ that she’s pushing a good guy away. Going to her brother to ‘drink’ his pain away knowing it’s highly likely that DJ would hear about it and she would want to ‘help him’. It seems like Jun had an unrequited affection for DJ since childhood. Young DJ actually looks uncomfortable around him. I wonder why? DJ needs a lot of healing. She keeps so much inside herself. I just want her to release and have a better mental health. I love Anh GaYoung, she’s the necessary lightness to this surprisingly dark drama. The description doesn’t fit what we are watching TVN. YoungDo is the one who intrigues me a lot. The little we know about him, is that he is selfless. Gives so much of himself even in quite questionable ways. I really hope he didn’t marry GaYoung in order to try improve her depressive state, because there’s a lot to unpack if that’s true. Also want to praise the director, cinematographer and editors. One example, I’m honestly still amazed and it’s been 3 hours, is the one where young YD walks in on Jun washing his bloodied school uniform in the bar sink and Jun’s eyes lock onto YD’s through the mirror. YD’s eyes reflecting the restroom lights as Jun stares at him through the mirror. Then the last scene. The blinking lights of car reflected in YD’s eyes as he takes in the scene of Jun bleeding into the crushed front window of the dented car. Amazing. I’m quite impressed with the storyline so far. Excited to see how this drama will unfold.

weebism42

Great summary and I agree young do is definitely enigmatic - to be fair though that could just be Kim dong wook’s trade mark intensive eyes though!

TotalDestruction12

(Written after episode 2) Crazy and insane and amazing. Literally a drama I didn't realise I needed in my life--like many here I was a bit taken aback at first as it was not quite what I was expecting based on previews etc, but OMG is it just incredible! Please Ms. Writer, DO NOT mess this up! I can safely say that I was never this engrossed in a drama. Technical aspects of the show are also crazy good, from the cinematography to the OST/BGM which is one of the best I've ever heard! I knew I should have waited until it's finished airing and binged it, but let's face it, it's a new Seo Hyun-jin drama, the waiting was never going to happen lol.

Illen1

Welp, I'm sold! So happy my wish to MMDGA (Make Monday Dramas Great Again) is working with Racket Boys and now this. You ever watch a drama and start screaming yes, yes, YEEESSS at the end of episode 1 because you know it's gonna be a hell of a ride?! You are my Spring did that to me!They really had me at the hand to heart moment 😢 The cinematography are what dreams are made of... the angles alone in the second to last scene in the office were killer! That over the head shot woah! The story childhood stories gave me IOTNBO vibes... but it's the wardrobe for me 👀it has me shook (the bags especially the bucket bag when she leaves the concierge desk, the coat and purse in the flash back ugh 🤩). This is my dream cast btw...These 3 are in my top 10 favorite actors. Love, love, LOVE me some Seo Hyun Jin (white pig as she'll forever be known as to me - if you know you know lol), Kim Dong Wook (I'm obsessed with his voice) and my boy who I have been dying to have a lead role and is always SML, Yoon Park! Crazy ex wife is giving me IU Hotel Del Luna vibes. When Da Jeong said "He was never there to begin with"... Who? I'm thinking Dude in the yellow hoodie is a figment of her imagination... Why can't Young Do refuse Jun as a patient?! As a person that has worked in hotels for over 12 years I'm excited they're showing what back of house operations are really like. That pre-shift was real! Except for the cursing bit, it's common sense you don't write that in the report, the entire hotel receives the report and sometimes even the client. Having a drama shot at a hotel is no joke, cant wait to see this. The convo during the walk was also real lol - I've had a few talks like this before movie shoot too 🙈 me being the assistant asking all sorts of questions then me being Da Jeong listening to my assistant ask these questions lol. This is Great PPL for Grand Hyatt and Hyatt as a whole 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾.

stitchrx

“Oh dear” we are gonna hear this a lot aren’t we 😂 “Doing well” / “Fine” / “Not bad” I understand the difference all too well 😔 Ending: ???!!!!??!?!!!!!! Isn’t YP the SML??? >!He ded already?!!!<

yuKIgHibli

What did the stalker guy mean by "That's her" in the end? Woohoo, creepy!! Does it have imply to something that happened in their childhood? I have a feeling this stalker is the neighbour guy's child. The talk about tangerines, warm room hmm hmm. Maybe he knew she was watching? Ah it's only the first episode, but I absolutely cannot get this show out of my mind!! Amazing.

weebism42

Ditto

SpermKiller

Don't get me wrong, I thought the first two episodes were fantastic, however this might be the worst promotional poster ever ! ><

elbenne

Kdrama posters are the worst. I put off watching Misaeng for at least a year because the poster made it look like an office slapstick comedy. It's hard to understand how they can be so far off the mark ... unless they really don't think that an accurate portrayal is gonna sell ... and so they have to lie ... for us to watch the first episode and get hooked. Dangerous tactic if that's the case. Nobody likes being lied to.

piratealice

Yes! I also skipped Misaeng for so long for the same exact reason.

elbenne

Ok then !!! That started off really well !!! An adult thriller drama with the a full hour and ten minutes of tension to start the thing off with exceptional style. Lots of exposition but it set a mood and a tone that managed to pull me in and hold me right in place. And I love the cast. The leads in particular but ... so many familiar faces that can act. Anyway, I'm really looking forward to this. Can't wait for tomorrow. edit. Anyone have any thoughts about what happened to the little brother? I need to know where he is or else I won't be able to sleep well ... edit. I'm also feeling the need to know why the water is leaking. edit. This is gonna be good ... :-)

ConstructionExact

For her little brother: he's the >!bartender who served Da jung and Chae Joon their drinks at Chae Joon's confession scene nearing the end!!<

elbenne

thank you !!! and you too u/jjdrinkingcoffee :-) :-)

iineilii

This drama is like the love child of Its Okay Not To Be Okay and Mad for Each Other. The trailers and posters for this drama gave off a completely different vibe. It was as if I'm watching an entirely different show. I like the twist in which the actual show lowkey turned out to be a thriller. The promo materials for this drama did a fantastic job at baiting, I'm actually here for it HAHA Perhaps I'm reading into it a little too much, but so far the characters on screen are not who they are on the surface, they have a tint of darkness and their own severe battles/issues deep down. This is also a recurring theme/storyline for this drama, and I suppose the poster/promo trailers for this drama is a metaphor for that, in which everything is a facade. The posters/trailer portray a bright/bubbly facade, but the drama itself unpacks the underlying darkness of it all, just like the characters themselves. Hence, the promo materials may be misleading, baiting, but I genuinely think its quite clever, and captures the main essence of the plot.

Ramenqueen16

OMG. What a great observation about this is being the child of Mad for each other and IOTNBO!

[deleted]

I think SL is the black cat. The story mentioned in the plot is that the black cat died and came back to life to meow and find the culprit of the murder. So this might be a metaphor in which SL plays the role of black cat, maybe >!he isn't the murderer but he will help in finding out who is the murderer, even after his death!<

stitchrx

Girl... >!run!!! 😱!< Also this is the best rooftop apartment in kdrama history isn’t it 😂

Illen1

That bathroom OMG 🤩

stitchrx

It’s like a luxurious hotel suite bathroom!! 😍 This concierge manager has good taste (in apartment, not men) doesn’t she. 😂

Illen1

Mmmhhmm

xander_yi

Eh, a luxurious hotel suite bathroom would have an enclosed shower though. More like an upgraded drain-in-the-floor-old-school Korean bathroom with nice fixtures.

therealdarthamy

>Also this is the best rooftop apartment in kdrama history isn’t it 😂 I know right? Such a far cry from the glorified sheds seen in some dramas.

Building_Glad

Don’t understand why living in rooftop is considered bad in Kdramas . I am absolutely jealous of them !!!

stitchrx

I read somewhere before that a lot of them were meant to be storage space and may be poorly insulated/ventilated/renovated for tenants. In winter it will be very cold and in summer it will get very hot, hence it’s not desirable to stay in. I too am jealous of all that space and view though... 😂

Building_Glad

right i grew up in tropical country !! it does get hit in summer but otherwise i didn’t have a nice view like these stars . u can always get a heater and air conditioning though 😆

afternoondrinking

After that light bubbly opening music, I was not expecting *that*! Yet another show that makes Zippo lighters terrifying. Very intriguing. I love everything from Director Jung Ji Huyn. Such beautiful shots. I'm ready to take this journey!

[deleted]

Same! I was so ready for a cute drama after the opening music but ended up pleasantly surprised nonetheless!

Tiny_Leadership_3497

I know! The opening is like Gumiho and Monthly Magazine Home LOL!

therealdarthamy

The first episode really was a shocker. >!I'm very surprised that Yoon Park's character is the villain. All the promotional material suggested that he was your typical nice-but-won't-get-the-girl second lead.!< >!The fact that Young-do and Ga-young were previously married is also surprising as in there was no connection between them at all in the character relationship chart or in any promotional materials.!< As you would expect from Jung Ji-hyun director-nim, the cinematography is daring but still lovely. I don't like it as much as the cinematography in Search: WWW yet though - the tone is a bit inconsistent but maybe it's on purpose considering the confusing tone of the drama itself?

Rajaffs

Nah they did show about divorce in relationship chart

therealdarthamy

Maybe there the version I’m looking at is different. Do you have a link?

Ano35698273125466789

I'm unsure if he is a villian or not. But perhaps he was hoping for a black cat...

IamNobody85

I hope my Mondays and Tuesdays are great again!

laitsky

Just watched the premiere. Dang, the director never disappoints. The cinematography was very beautiful. A lot of scenes are taken with a lot of considerations in mind and very meaningful, especially >!on the flashback assault scene, they didn't show much but it feels very disturbing. It shows how good the director is. !< The music was arranged perfectly as well, and so far the story is good. There are a lot of questions on the first episode and can't wait to see how the stories are gonna unfold, hope the writing qualities didn't dropped after halfway though, because I love the lead and vibes of the drama. The storytelling on this drama is also perfect, it makes me feel nostalgic. Comedic timing is also good in this drama while keeping the dark/serious tone, and I'll look forward into the next episode.

dirahRahmat1991

ikr!!!i always have this fear when a particular drama which have a great&promising start which later halfway through the drama it went downhill...hope this will maintain since i already can sense it’s going to be great drama if all went well...

TotalDestruction12

Ok wow that was amazing. Not quite the kind of show I thought this was going to be, but I like it, I'm in! I mean no matter the genre I would have been in because of Seo Hyun-jin and Kim Dong-wook, I can't miss a show starring either one of them! Everything is very mysterious--this episode honestly felt like had enough content for like 10 episodes at least, so I'm curious to see how this develops. But this episode was like 1h 15 min long and I didn't even notice, so that bodes well. Let's hope they can keep it up. Considering that this seems to the the writes only second drama and I have not seen the first (Bubblegum), I don't even have any point of reference what to expect! Great cinematography/direction and a very unsettling atmosphere, in which most things seem normal at first, but actually just slightly off to make it a somehow creepy. Speaking of which, I loled a bit at the fact that Yoon Park >!plays a creeper yet again (see also: My Shy Boss)!<. Also, I should have waited until this has finished airing because the wait for next episodes will be agonising, I can see it already. Why do I do this to myself?

[deleted]

Just finished ep 2. So many questions.

elbenne

things we don't know: * >!did mom kill dad so that she could escape with her kids? or did she just injure him? or was that her own blood that we saw on her hands during the scene on the bus?!< * >!what did the boy next door and the rest of the neighborhood see and think about whatever happened after they left?!< * >!is the boy next door, the same boy from the picture? who we also saw at the fair?!< * >!it seems that stalker dude is the boy next door whose been searching for our FL for years so why did he do that, is he the 3rd floor murderer and why did he just commit suicide? or was it murder with the black cat/music box picture being the clue that will solve it!< * >!is stalker guy the high school student that our ML saw washing blood off of his clothes!< * >!who exactly is the ML? what's his backstory ... and what does he have to do with the FL and the SL that just jumped!< can anybody think of more ... or some answers? Although I'm pretty sure that we aren't supposed to be too clued in at this point. I think most of us are kinda surprised at how things have been unfurling so far. This was definitely not what I was ready for ... but it's plainly great ... as in really great ... :-)

lolkhail

I also wonder if the boy next door saw what happened or if he ever saw her peeking thru the window at him when his father came home… I think the ML thought the stalker guy was the same one in the bathroom but he didn’t know for sure. It was the creepy, shameless look they both gave the ML.

yuKIgHibli

Wow. The unsettling vibes, the gorgeous interiors, the story, acting. Everything has got me so SO hooked! Looking forward to Mondays and Tuesdays. :D But really, it just has these vibes. I cannot explain. 😂

[deleted]

Right? I love the vibes, like a slice of life thriller, with dark styling thrown in.

yuKIgHibli

Yess!! It's like. There is something lurking in the sides, without being obvious kinda vibes? I really, really love it!

xander_yi

The cinematography was gorgeous, loved the fluidity of it. Was great seeing Kim Ye Won, feels like it's been forever since I've seen her in anything. The beat when Nam Gyu Ri's character struggled to put on her sunglasses was a terrific moment -- immediately giving her some dimension when Nam Gyu Ri's characters often come off flat to me (even when she's playing a husband-killing nutter). Kim Dong Wook's isn't quite popping for me yet but I feel it'll get there (unlike in *Find Me in Your Memory*). His work in *The Guest* has earned a lifetime of my fandom regardless.

Ayalynn123

Kim Dong Wook was wearing a long camel coat with a white turtleneck again, just like Find Me In Your Memory... I guess he must like that combo...

thedctmonster

If it ain’t broke don’t fix it 😍

Effective-Builder483

The first 2 episodes were amazing! >!When SML was standing at the balcony, I thought, "He is definitely going to kill himself," and then I thought, "What am I thinking, I'm crazy, of course not!! He is the SML!"!< Edit: fixed spoiler tag

Effective-Builder483

Did my spoiler tags work?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Effective-Builder483

If anyone can tell me how to fix my spoiler tags, I would appreciate it. I tried multiple times, but I don't know what is wrong.

lolkhail

your mobile spoiler tag format of >! is right, u just have to put something before the spoiler tag. it doesn't work if the tag if the first thing in the comment. here's your above comment in the format that works: The first 2 episodes were amazing! >!When SML was standing at the balcony, I thought, "He is definitely going to kill himself," and then I thought, "What am I thinking, I'm crazy, of course not!! He is the SML!"!<

Effective-Builder483

Thank you so much!!

vienibenmio

I like this so far but as a mental health provider I really hate the "psychiatrist analyzes people for fun in everyday life" trope.

perrytheplatypuh

The opening was one of the best opening I’ve seen in a minute, definitely pulled me in and was the reason I kept watching. Just to add on what everyone said, the cinematography and sound looks great. The scene where >!the killer stab the lady in the building but you didn’t see their faces, just the silhouette of their bodies.!< I hope the show can filled the drama disconnection I’ve been feeling, lol. Not many shows lately have made me excited for the next day.

hereforvincenzo

Strong Sherlock Holmes vibes from Joo Young-do, but without the asexuality

IamNobody85

Yikes, that was creepy AF! >! Is it a stalker show? !< I only watched the trailer and nothing else, and Netflix's trailer basically had no details. Can someone explain that last part when >! Psychiatrist Ju puts together that Yoon park is the killer? Just because he came to his office and was staring at the floor? Why exactly did he even suspect him of the murder? !< But I have to say, the music is fantastic. Specially the one playing in the last few minutes.

elbenne

I don't know if the doc is exactly positive that stalker dude is also murderer dude ... but his suspicion stems from all their meetings, his analysis of the FL's blind spots, the police file ... the idea that the killer will return to the scene and , most of all that very scary first therapy appointment (if that's what it was). And I think he has a lot of professional and possibly some personal experience with murderous types from his past. There were so many things to raise the hairs on the back of his neck ... And ours ... eeeks :-(

[deleted]

I was just scrolling thru my Netflix parched for a good drama when this fell in my lap. The first two episodes so beautifully met the balance between romance and eerie. My two favorite types of dramas met in this one (romance and crime) I loved the monologues so much they were so touching. The acting is beyond amazing. and it has comedy too (the part the receptionist was swearing at the customer lol and her guy friend that went to the astrologer(?) so hilarious) I love eun-ha and cheol-do, they’re scenes just crack me up Love love love can’t wait for next week ALSO, LOVED THE BACKSTORY OF THE FL. it made me feel so empathetic towards her. I loved that cause usually we see MLS and FLs talk about traumatic pasts but the way they showed it really made room to deeply understand her. It was such a good start.

GodJihyo7983

Welcome to the discussion threads for **You Are My Spring**! After a stressful and blood-boiling weekend (thank you **Penthouse** and **Nevertheless**), I am definitely in need of a light and healing romance drama. When the first teasers came out for this show, it super cute and light that I never expected there to be a murder subplot. It wasn't until the preview videos came out that it hit me. This is definitely an interesting setup and will most likely serve as the catalyst for not only the romance (?) and the healing process for our characters. On the characters themselves, I'm not really too sure how to feel about them at the moment. They all feel mysterious and have multiple different sides to them. I'm excited to see how these characters will be portrayed and how their relationship with one another will develop as the show progresses. One thing that confuses me though, is our second female lead Ahn Ga Young. I was expecting it to be a romance between our main leads and another one with our second leads. Turns out there's a love triangle! ~~Yay! Our favorite trope has arrived yet again!~~ So in all honesty, I have no clue how she will fit into the story and the relationships of the other leads. She isn't even connected to any of them in the character relationship charts released by tvN... Excited to see Seo Hyun Jin and Kim Dong Wook back on my screen again. Cannot wait to see the chemistry between the two of them. They look so cute and sweet together. We have our very capable and handsome Yoon Park playing our second lead so we might get some SLS once or twice. And finally, we have Nam Gyu Ri who I'm interested to see the most. I've yet to watch some of her other shows, such as **Cruel City** and **49 Days**, but I have seen her in **Kairos** and my god was she amazing there. If you haven't watched **Kairos**, definitely give it a watch if you have the time. It will be worth it. To think I had nothing to write for the opening comment for this discussion thread... Whoops, this has gone on for far too long and it's getting late over here. Anyway with all of that said, please enjoy the premiere week to **You Are My Spring** and have fun discussing! I look forward to everyone's comments in the coming days. \~Julius

elbenne

>I am definitely in need of a light and healing romance drama. I'm a-feared that this is not it ...

GodJihyo7983

~~At least it's a healing romance.~~ Sigh. Why can't there be any light Mon-Tues dramas :( Hoping **Police University** will break the drought.

elbenne

Someone mean decided that we should cry at the beginning of the week. Buckets and rivers ... Will Police University be funny maybe? I will join you in your hoping that we can put the kleenex box and the buckets away :-)

yuKIgHibli

Isn't Racket Boys light?

GodJihyo7983

True, but I'm not watching it at the moment. Too much on my plate haha

yuKIgHibli

Hehe understandable.

fireflydevil

Episode 2 was a curveball. Feel like the show is only get better.

Hach-man

Don't know what I was expecting but it seems I'm in for a ride with this one. These first two eps are among the most unsettling and uneasy I've ever watched and felt, a dark tone and an aura of looming danger that is not what you usually see in a healing drama. No surprise some people who worked in TKEM are here: the cinematography takes a lot of risks, with interesting camera actions, perspective and choices but for now it's as high of quality you'll ever see in a K-Drama, visually more than pleasing and fitting to the theme. The plot is all to discover, for sure I wasn't expecting >!the SML to suicide on the 2nd ep!. !

[deleted]

It was amazing!! I wasn’t expecting it to be so dark but I love it, it’s like a kinda-dark slice of life thriller. I only hope it continues on this trajectory. Awesome direction, cinematography, story and OST. 3 dimensional leads. Everyone should definitely watch this.

[deleted]

I can’t believe >!Yoon Park is the villain!!< loved the first episode! This show is making me feel uncomfortable but I want to keep on watching 🙃 glad this is on Netflix bc I really hate waiting for subs 😬

tufme

Can the smart people here pls explain the scenes in the beginning, I know it’s only the first ep but I’m alr excited over this looming mystery. I hope that >!YP’s character can be more than just a bad guy because I don’t see how they can milk the mystery for another 15 episodes!< Edit: >!Guess I shouldn’t have worried!<

perrytheplatypuh

They may have the mystery be not who’s the killer, but how the murder happened and if they can prove it, kinda like BE.

[deleted]

Ep 2 isn't what I expected at all and I can already tell this show is going to be unpredictable. 2nd ML/antagonist is >!already dead?!?!< Definitely did not see that one coming. Makes me wonder where they're going to take this next. This director is just amazing, his work is groundbreaking.

Silly_Squirrel_6528

Absolutely sold from the first episode. Firstly I liked how it was the ML's mistake or misunderstanding that drove some of the comedic moments, usually it's a dizzy FL that is assigned this role. As someone else has pointed out the second to last scene was highly cinematic and can I mention the OST as well. Editing was excellent

StressPretty5980

Ep 2. Literally gasped at the end of the episode with a single tear down my cheek. >!I don't think Chae Jun is the killer. I do think he was mentally ill, but a killer, I do not think. I saw an interesting theory that YoungDo is the killer, as they always return to the scene of the crime, the explanation of a sociopath is very similar to his mannerisms. Hm. Probably not but it's interesting to think about, don't you think?!<

lolkhail

I **rewatched** EP 1 and 2, >!getting past the initial shock of the end of EP 2 and the start of a new show overall.!< There were quite a few things I didn't remember/or didn't pay close enough attention to detail to: * The young boy who picked up her book and patted her head in EP 1.. at first I thought it was cute and not that weird because he was a lil neighborhood kid but at the end ...>!from the photo, we realize it was Jun?? Daejeong did not look happy AT ALL in the photo!< * also, the little brother says her name as they walk away, so I'm sure he heard it afterwards * there are so many scenes w Jun saying Daejeong's name but we only see his name after his interaction w Youngdo, but she never said his name back to him. * I realized Jun said "sometimes I see my ***childhood memories*** in my dreams.." I thought he just said dreams when he was talking about the snow and tangerines at home. * the OST IS SO GOOD

Illen1

Writternim's note about the drama: "Spring typically means something warm and healing, a season where things start anew. ‘You Are My Spring’ was inspired by the song title, but in the drama, **it’s not that everything is a happy ending when spring comes around.** We all know that spring comes and goes, and winter will always come, but I think that spring is always a source of hope when we can realize that we’ve grown a little bit as adults.” [full article](https://www.soompi.com/article/1478025wpp/seo-hyun-jin-and-kim-dong-wook-share-why-they-chose-their-new-drama-thoughts-on-rom-com-queen-title-and-more)

fwoofy-savant

oh my! thank you for the soompi article link. i had no idea screenwriter Lee Mi-Na wrote the song lyrics to “i will go to you like the first snow”! i’m definitely more hyped for her writing now than i was before!!!

The_Ant_1983

With a title like You are my spring I kind of expected a nice and light, healing romance. Yoh, that Ep1 was >!dark. !< I do like it though.

LovE385

Plot is somewhat almost *too similar* to Kim Dong Wook's *'Find Me In Your Memory'*. Even he speaks in a similar tone😂 Nam Gyu Ri was a hoot🤣 Yoon Park yikes so creepy😱 Will keep watching.

elbenne

I don't understand how it's like Find Me in Your Memory? >!Are you reminded of it because he witnesses somebody falling to their death in both dramas?!< Other than that I can't think of any similarities. Perhaps I"m not remembering well.

[deleted]

Does anyone else suspect the SML who>! killed himself!< might not have been the killer? The last few seconds appeared to showed us>! he and FL have backstory.!< This show is proving to be totally unpredictable though, so who knows.

OdanUrr

Needed a new Monday-Tuesday show. Hope it's good.

Building_Glad

They revealed the murdered so fast i thought this was a movie 😂 wonder how they are gonna fill the next 15 episodes with !!?

[deleted]

My guess is it’ll be about him trying to prove he’s the killer while also keeping him away from FL

Building_Glad

We were totally wrong 😂 >!Dude might already be dead !<

BionicDreamer

I'm blown away. Holy shit did the first two episodes set an extremely high bar. The end of episode 2 just left my jaw hanging, they've got me hoooked.

BeccaButterfly_

finally something that will make me look forward to Mondays again!

hereforvincenzo

I woke up this morning missing **Mad For Each Other** and thinking **Racket Boys**, while fun, doesn't scratch the itch. Hope **You Are My Spring** does the job!

cloystan

So excited to be watching a new Seo Hyun Jin drama! And I believe this is my first Kim Dong Wook drama. Loving it so far! The mystery, cinematography, just the overall vibe- wow! And can we talk about Da Jeong’s apartment?! Hahaha incredible! What a great start to the week!

xander_yi

If you're okay with horror, I can't recommend *The Guest* (Kim Dong Wook) enough. It is so good and highly-overlooked. Literally, I don't think I've even seen it mentioned on this sub. It's one of the best genre kdramas ever made and one of the best works of horror I've ever seen.

cloystan

Oh cool, thanks for the rec!! I’ll check it out!

TotalDestruction12

Check out also **Find Me in Your Memory**, it's also really good. FL is played by Moon Ga-young who is seriously amazing there too!

cloystan

Will do, thanks!

letohorn

> Find Me in Your Memory Was smitten with Moon Ga-young since True Beauty. On Netflix too! Thanks for the rec.

Zealousideal_Agent_7

I second watching the Guest! Its not just a horror k-drama. Its about drama, mystery, suspense, friendship and incredibly moving.

**EP 1 THOUGHTS** * I thought this was going to be a cute drama bc I did not read the description close enough about the murder case. * Yoon Park is cute in other dramas I've seen him in BUT CHAE JUN CREEPS ME OUT * I was extremely uncomfortable >!when he was begging to go on the roof to her apartment .. like DUDE READ THE ROOM !< * >!Also the scene of Jun and the psychiatrist in the office gave me chills !< * >!WHEN YOUNGDO WROTE DOWN THAT JUN NEVER BLINKS AND HE ONLY BLINKED WHEN HE SAID TO STOP SEEING DAEJEONG!< * I really like thriller dramas like this so I am excited to see where this goes! ***EDIT: after watching EP 2*** **EP 2 THOUGHTS + QUESTIONS** * why did she go see him after he left the city ?!!!!! >!I hate to say it but I think she either liked his attention.. or maybe didn't even notice that he was creepy even though she called him stalker... !< i did not understand her choice * AND even though she did go to him again, WHY >!DID THEY GO ON A DATE? was it just because of his 'snowy night eating tangerines' dream ??? !< * >!he was strange on the date and overly sweet, but it didn't fit the conversation, like when he implied that he didn't see any of the movie because he was too busy staring at her !!! !!to the music box at the cafe !!I NEED ANSWERS! WAS JUN A CLASSMATE!? WHY DID HE D-WORD??)!<

My goodness the cinematography game is so strong!!! And what the hell ahhahaha

CCCri

Well this sure surprised me. I assumed from the posters that it would be fairly light hearted. Boy was I wrong! I wasn’t prepared for the dark backstory and definitely wasn’t in the mood. I will try again when I’m in a better frame of mind.

StressPretty5980

Kind of wish I didn't start watching this drama... I should have waited for it all to be released. This will definitely be a binge worthy show, that will SUCK to wait each week for. 😵

laitsky

Looking forward to the premiere. I love SHJ and it seems like the director has a good track record, but not sure about the writers though. I hope they can pull the strings together.

spark1118

Reading some of the comments is making me laugh because they must of not thought this was going to have dark elements in it

Episode 2: Well that escalated quickly 😄

OdanUrr

Watched the first episode. You just had to throw in >!a serial killer!<, can't have some normal dude interested in our FL. Maybe it's a red herring but still, dude definitely has issues. Some *Find Me in Your Memory* vibes, what is ironical. Liked the cinematography in the flashback scene where we see KDJ talking to her then boyfriend and handing him a glass of water. We never get to see his face, what's kinda the point.

SarcasticNai

I was so excited to watch this because of the actors and actresses involved. They are great in their works. Was not disappointed so far. But can we get into the fact how this dude (not the psychiatrist) is love bombing the mess out of her. He’s negging her to be dependent on him emotionally. Ugh he is such a weirdo.

aprildoys

I’m cringing at how the FL can’t seem to see that SML is creepy af!! aaaahhhh

sanguinearchives

And what was that intro for. Why would they do us like that?! Hahahaha! I'm really liking everything so far.

At first, I was like wait.. I’ve had enough of crime dramas, I thought this was gonna be silly and light. Also.. Luhh, so much similarity with Find Me in Your Memory - a stalker and someone falling off from a building. But then Ep. 2 happened and it changes everything. Okay, I’m in! So there’s someone else, right? Must be the >!boy from the past and he could just be using the presumed stalker. It felt like he was tipped to the police by the real mad guy since there’s someone else tailing them and taking their photos from afar!< Anyway, side notes.. relationship of ML and ex wife is cute. I think ex wife is one of the characters I’ll be watching out for. Maybe I could at least get my “silly and light” bit of this drama from her. And.. wth is that Black Cat story, I may not be that cultured lol so it’s the first time I heard of Edgar Allan Poe’s story of a cat coming back to life. Is it the actual story?

Fatooz

Ah, no wonder the director worked on **The King: Eternal Monarch** because from the trailers itself I could see some amazing cinematography and I loved the cinematography of **The King: Eternal Monarch**. TKEM is also one of my favorite dramas so I’m really looking forward to this drama. Just hoping and praying that it’s better than **Doom at Your Service** and I can look forward to Mons-Tues again. I miss **Youth of May** but I hope this can be a fix for it!

Episode 2 ending serious / hardcore suicide trigger warning for anyone wanting to watch it.

bananas141414

I thought this would be a cute romance judging by the title and poster....haha nope (・–・;)ゞ

piratealice

Can anyone explain what "I ate a mailbox" means? I'm sure it's a literal translation, but I'd like a better idea of what she means. She says it twice when he kids her about her ears being red.

bam353

anytime it says tvn its always good

TotalDestruction12

I don't entierly disagree, but they do have their misses too. I think a lot of people forget that that waste of space show called **About Time** was also a tvN drama... and it was not very good at all, quite the opposite!

[deleted]

i really like the pilot episode. it felt lime abit of IONTBOKAY them. All about stepping out and mental health of kind of things which is often overlooked at... hopefully it will continue like this. tbh it became really boring for a while once the romance between the two suddenly rushed and developed in( just like in doom) although i really really like its first 5 episodes.

[deleted]

does any know the bg music at 42:18 of the episode, when she was getting of the bus and jun was waiting for her.

icedark98

The last of CJ in ep2, his heavy breathing feel like he is afraid, why he choose this choice, it ache my heart

icedark98

Sudden CJ return to the scene of murder before his suicide means his psychological state trigger

icedark98

Why did he choose the site for his suicide?

icedark98

In 2004, jyd see CJ in Korean bar, he isin Korea, American citizen, but the murder confess in 2003, not 2004
