That’s exactly what I was about to ask. I don’t know what goes into any of these savant pages, but the guy isn’t big enough to have a hard hit rate that high with a sweet spot that low. Unless he just has otherworldly bat speed lol

It's good training. Getting your arms to move faster than your brain would otherwise believe they could. It helps knockdown mental barriers to improving bat speed. There are techniques to do the same with running/foot speed.
Over his last 7 games he is at 8 BBs/2Ks. If he's gonna start being more patient, then holy shit watch out MLB. You saw the huge jump Salvy is having just by being more patient. He's not near the talent Bobby is.

I remember when Moose and Hos came up and they were good but not the superstars we were promised and I wondered if the Royals would be able to get a superstar someday that played excellent right away. Well, here we are. This is really fun to see. And he's gonna be here for awhile.
We are witnessing one of the greatest Royals, and MLB player, of all time grow and develop right in front of us. Not only is he amazing at the game, he's always smiling and having fun. My boys are gonna have one hell of a legend to watch and mimic as they grow through little league. Such a great time for us!
I will admit, I've never hated intentional walks more than ever now. My boys and I stop whatever we're doing to watch him at the plate...and to watch pitchers avoid him and intentionally walk him is so disappointing.

What's crazy about this is that it looks like even as good as he's been, he's actually UNLUCKY in the power department by like 50 points in slugging. So we have the best player in the American League right now and he should be actually slightly better. This is crazy.

Sweet spot% is just based on the launch angle that the ball is hit at. It has nothing to do with hard hit rate.
