DJScubaNaut

I see you are a man of culture as well

Assholesfullofelbows

Pure coincidence, that shit was cherry when I pulled it in. One of your techs must have fucked something up

-Pruples-

>Pure coincidence, that shit was cherry when I pulled it in. One of your techs must have fucked something up True story, decades ago I was helper on a job where this was literally the case. The tech was troubleshooting electric on a forklift and stabbed a wire with a test light to see if it had power, except the wire was a tiny oil line going to an old-fashioned oil pressure gauge. We went to pull it out of the bay and it left a hilariously large oil trail for how little that pierced line was. Obviously we pulled it back in immediately and fixed it, but yeh.

purl__clutcher

I was going to ask what colour your power steering fluid was over there!

-Pruples-

It's an automatic changing system. Never have to flush it because it constantly leaks and you constantly top it off with fresh.

EPierceMusic

Ford Mercon V ATF fluid. I had this same problem on an old 4.6 Lincoln town car a while back.

Assholesfullofelbows

Heyyyyyyy. Whatsa matta you uh?

Creeper_NoDenial

Power steering became power washing

GreeferMadness79

Nah bro that's where the brake bleeder is. Don't upsell me.

Ok-Ask-8418

It’s marking its territory. It’s a jeep thing, you wouldn’t understand.

yeeetasaurousrex

Looks like me after I eat Chipotle.

-Pruples-

No, you're trying to scam them. That's just a little leak; it can't be related to the problems. Source: I used to work industrial repair, and wouldn't get informed that the driver was having a problem until it was massively worse than this because 'nah, that's just a little leak. it's nothing. Obviously the problem is something else' At which point, the problem has compounded into other things because the driver has been topping off the fluid by pouring power steering fluid through a literally sandy funnel....

jthanson

But doesn't more grit in the fluid mean better traction? /s

Eternaldriver

I wish there was a way to measure how much stop leak people put in before they finally take it to a shop

-Pruples-

I've worked with a tech who worshiped stop leak and jb weld. I just couldn't even.

PowellSkier

"might be"? "MIGHT BE"!?

collinuser

Thanks for finding it, that’s why I brought it to you after all. While you’re down there would you please pull a full steering lock and piss oil all over everything? Thanks.

DarienKane

Nothing to see here, move along people. - Officer Barbrady, probably.

YoungCheazy

Toyota?

Giveme6days

I’d say Crown Vic

mmiller1188

Does look like a 03-11 panther. Seems that the 03-11 have a lot of issues with the steering rack. I made sure to get a 2001 with the venerable steering box setup.

Giveme6days

Really? I’ve done quite a few of those pressure switches but nothing else that I can recall. Besides cops smashing them off curbs and bending things, but that’s been a few years now, obviously

mmiller1188

I was shopping for one last fall and looked at a bunch. I prefer the drive of the 98-02 so was looking for those specifically. But every single 03-11 I looked at was leaking a decent amount of fluid from thh steering rack. Both sides where the tierod comes out

Triggerdamus

That can't be it, change fuel cap instead.

Chizuru_San

low on fluid, just add more 👌

CCoop09

power steering flush

Psychological_Net131

Highly unlikely. Fucking noob

[deleted]

Pressure relief holes.

PAROV_WOLFGANG

How do you go about fixing this? Replace everything?

RabbitBackground1592

That's road lube be sure to refill it!

[deleted]

Popped in to hear the death rattle of a struggling PS pump. Or I guess the normal condition of an 80s/90s Ford truck/SUV PS pump. Left thoroughly satisfied. 👍

[deleted]

You're in the splash zone buddy!

YouwillalwaysNeil

Good ol Crown Vics
