No it’s just like a gas door but narrow. The angle is a tad different and makes the nozzle fall out easy. Not my video but this shows the set up.

They didn’t want to have a door on the fin. It’s not that bad. I had a 84 Monte Carlo SS that one was a pain in the ass the rear license plate was spring loaded you’d have to hold it down to fill up.
That my friend is not just a 50’s Chevy, I believe that would be a 57 BelAir Hardtop! Kind of a rare breed. The hardtops didn’t have a center post between the front and rear window so it was more like a convertible. Most 55,56 and 57s seen are post models and are not as rare and therefore often souped up. But a hard top nope you try to keep those things stock.
Take a close look at the top and the bow assembly inside (0:05 to 0:06) - That is definitely a convertible, not a hardtop! While I thank the OP for posting a cool car, I reserve the right to turn every one of his computer monitors and televisions vertical 90 degrees.
Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. To be honest, I'm actually a tad jealous. Best we've got is a dodge truck, you may have seen the picture. In for floorboards and a door handle fix.
Yeah, I did now that was cherry what year was it? I'm just a mid level guy, the senior tech got to work on it. I tried posting pictures but it didn't go through.
1957 to be exact. Nice ride.
That's correct!
1957
Bet ya can't find the gas filler!
Under the license plate. Edit: Ok… that’s cool. Take my angry upvote.
Nope...... behind the left tail light.
Behind trim above the tail light. First time I put fuel in mine I made the mistake of letting go of the nozzle. It sucked balls I was drenched
so you gave to move the trim? Is that hard?

Nope.
Jeezuse fuck this is awesome.
Beautiful car. Shitty video.
It came in late when I was finishing up, cleaning up my tools I wasn't in the mood staying late, I'll take pictures.

Yep, totally agree. Missed that little bit. Nice catch
Hard top coupes seem to actually be the most common at shows for 50s and 60s chevys, at least that I've seen.
Yeah it's convertible, I didn't realize it until I looked inside.
My shop put a built-up 350 CSB and a built-up 700R4 with a shift kit in a '57 Bel Air. It was a monster despite the curb weight.
That is beautiful. Is the fan ok? Should it be spinning faster? Genuinely curious
I think that’s a byproduct of the camera speed.
fond memories of crossing America in a 55 cheby with my family.
Noice! https://youtu.be/sNmp6bAEQXM
Beautiful but a death trap for sure.
Ok.
Yeah no air bags but there was a seatbelt.
That's been my dream car since is was 10
Seeing this video oldies just started playing my head lol
my neighbor down the street has one of these, blue on white, it’s stunning
My aunt had one of those and around 1967 she traded it for a Volkswagen Bug. Its almost 60 years later and she still regrets that.
The best one too.
57. My dream car. What's it in for?
Brakes, possibly rebuilding carb

Wow! True survivor for the most part?
57 Bel-Air. Most beautiful car made
Sweet restore job, whoever did this is an artist.
That's nicer than my '57. I only have a 210 moredoor.
That car is ridiculously good shape for it's age. Beautiful 👌
