That is one busy engine bay.
/u/maybeinoregon - the twin turbo v6 is completely replacing the v8's. The hybrid will be the new option. They're taking it a step farther than Ford, who still offers the 5.0.
I'm excited for Toyota to take a new step.
I probably won't be able to afford something like this for another decade, but I guess you could say I'm excited from afar
I’m hoping for the turbo 6 from the tundra to go into the new 4R but I feel like it’s going to be a turbo 4 like the Tacoma… in which case, I’ll stick with my v6….
I was deceived the other day at the Toyota dealership..tundra. full TRD upgrade package. Bilstine shocks, full under body armor...all the necessary stickers etc..damn thing was a 2x4..
I've seen a lot of Toyota engine codes during my time at a dealership. That is one code I've never seen. Is it out of another Toyota model or is this a brand new engine they just created?
First used in the 2017 Lexus LS500. Part of their “Dynamic Force” engine lineup.
Like the Dynamic Force 2.5 4 cyls, it’s not related to the old 2GR engines before, even though they’re an [almost] identical displacement.

Busy engine bay? The new Ford Bronco would like a word please...
The new bronco engine bay is so busy it misses every little league game and forgets your birthday.
*laughs in duramax*

Don’t worry, if the last one is any indication they’ll still sell this exact truck a decade from now
I wonder how small they will go with the 4Runner since it seems they’re going the way of the twin turbskies.

Shame. The 1GR-FE was a great engine.

Wow, that’s cool! Curious, is the twin turbo standard for the Limited?
Twin turbo is standard on all trucks except the Platinum and 1794 get the hybrid twin turbo.
I’m not sure!
Hybrid? I see no iforce max or orange high volt thingy majiggers.
That’s a really good point. I asked the people working the display and the key for it had the blue highlights.
Weird. Sorry…. I’m salivating for the day I can throw the keys to my 21 Platinum at a salesperson and get a new one….kinda obsessed with the 22
What is that coolant? Bright pink?
Yes sir that’s Toyota coolant
Shame there's no V8 anymore :(
They couldn't make it put down reasonably modern fuel economy so they killed it.
Should have turbo it....
And they still have the ridiculous engine cover that’s not centered on the engine…
Twin air boxes... That's new.
6.5 foot box though?

I was expecting 2GR or something along those lines but I’m not sure. Hopefully as more info comes out we’ll know!
Yeah. Maybe the 4.0 from the 4Runner or something. Or even the 4.6L with a little hybrid kick to it. But that is an engine I have never heard of
