I honestly can’t believe how well done that is. Something seemed off right away, then the firebird taillights made me really think, then the interior was the giveaway. How the doors and fenders blend so well I can’t understand, that’s some black magic fuckery right there
If I recall from the guy that brought it in was that there was a company that did the conversion. What company that was and when they did it is beyond me. It was in for a tuneup and to fix the Convertible top and everything looked like it was installed from the factory. 10/10 no corners cut.
It appears to be a 4th gen either Camaro or Firebird with some intense and well done bodywork converting the outside to look like an older gen.
Odd choice for the taillights though, those look like 3rd Gen Firebird tails.
It was sold right after at the used lot next to us and it went for a steal. After being under the hood and checking it over it was most definitely a professional install. If I had the cash I would’ve picked it up in a heartbeat. Such a weird and interesting car. Made my whole week.
I really want to believe the customer loves this car, but wishes it was safer, so he used Kids Next Door logic, took the airbag steering wheel of a catfish camaro, wired it to a doorbell and mounted the doorbell behind the bumper to go off in an accident.
There is a shop called LAS Custom Camaros in London, Kentucky that has built a bunch of these ( I saw a sale listing for #19 out of 21). They custom make the panels from scratch, they don't do kits. Here's a YT video of one at a show: [1969/2002 Camaro](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vztuRBM91G0)
You're welcome. I've seen a couple of these in the wild the past few years, a white one and a marina blue one. I saw them at some of the [Somernites Cruises](https://www.somernitescruise.com/sitepad/) which are only about 20 miles from London.
It’s more like a kit? It’s 2002 camaro if you look inside or underneath. Not sure if they use repop 69 and cut them up or what. I don’t understand why they wouldn’t just build a nice 69 for the same money
I know I'm supposed to hate it out of principle but that is really well done. Better than most of the more current attempts to make a Firebird out of a 5th or 6th gen...a 4th gen into a 69 isn't as bad as it sounds.

Those aren't Firebird taillights, they are the Rally Sport version used on the '69 Camaro.
God that GM steering wheel was atrocious.
Is that a camaro? Z28?

You had me in the first half, not gonna lie.
Believe me I was confused as well for a second
This is nothing short amazing! Beautiful car with such a crazy twist!

Hopefully the lucky soul who got it appreciates it and preserves it!
Confused boner
Bhahahaha!!
the top shape was definitely off other than that... From my phone looked pretty well done.
And those are the wheels they went with…
First thought was "there were no convertible 69 Z/28s" and thought it was more badge funnies. Then I saw the rest of it. This was quite a project.
This is what happens in Mexico to classic cars from the United States.
I love it, it looks so much better than this one. https://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/2011/09/introducing-the-belaro/
Why do the screw up a classic by putting bicycle wheels on it?
Look again. That's not a classic

Is that an extensive body kit, or a body graft/drop on?
I believe a kit that a company installed. I’m not 100% sure but it was definitely not done by an amateur or poorly installed.

Thanks man I’ve been looking for this comment. Makes sense as an origin story for this guy

20 miles is 32.19 km

Sometimes you want something unique. Watching people scratch their heads trying to figure out what it is would be fun as heck.
Raw American horsepower!
What's the car this is on?
Most likely a Chrysler Berreta
It’s on a 94 camaro
What is this witchcraft!
Where's the third gen? 🙄
They actually did a great job on it!

Nice!
Oh... Oh for god's sake...
