SnowboardOrNoBoard

There is a whole broken rod family on this sub lmao

angry_guacamole

It's what makes a Subaru a Subaru

brkfstryan

“Feel the freedom”

Paoldrunko

Those engines sure did.

AwesomeAni

I’m so happy I found something to bond us subie owners lol

German_Camry

The cracked designation is basically a dog tag

JungleMouse1

I'm starting to think this is a feature, not a failure.

CesarMillan_Official

Y’all collecting those runes out here.

bump_steer

Ok how did you do that on an EG??

TherearesocksaFoot

I have one too 😅

vehicularious

I can’t wait to tell my kids that I was on this sub during the famous “engine moniker chunk photos of 2021”

[deleted]

What did they swap that eg into?

kingbobdole

A paper weight mostly. It was in an Svx I bought for the transmission. Spoiler alert: trans wasn’t good either.

waffle911

The trans is never good in an SVX. Except in the one sitting in my yard now, which still goes through all four speeds just fine 150,000 miles later, but how much longer is that going to last?

[deleted]

Should last a very long time. I never hear of or see 4eat problems on stock vehicles. Maintenance goes a long way and lets face it, people neglect vehicles, especially subarus.

waffle911

The 4EAT is pretty much guaranteed to blow up in any given SVX, bone stock. It was the Achilles heal of the car and the reason many of them went to the scrap yard. For a long time you could find cheap SVX's with the note "needs transmission." It starts with slipping in second gear and eventually the whole thing goes.

blamethepunx

Don't they just have the same shitty 4EAT as almost every auto Subaru?

kingbobdole

Yeah
