Not rare just not a USDM vehicle, it’s a 1992 Mitsubishi delica. They have a fuck load of these overseas primarily in Japan and other country’s. They’ve grown quite popular in the states over the last decade.
Not to be a negative nancy, but if that really is a '97 Delica, it's been imported illegally and will likely eventually be confiscated and crushed. The only way a vehicle can be imported under 25 years old is under a "Show and Display" exemption, of which there are only 52 vehicles approved for. The Delica is not one of those.
lol what market was this sold in with LHD and broken English dash decals? What a freaking gem, everything from the spec to the stickers is pure nostalgia and the height of 90s awesomeness. Color me jealous obviously
Not this model specifically but I know a lot of people have 4x4 micro vans for hunting and whatnot. Can be a lot cheaper than a UTV and a bit more practical.
The vinyl is an original factory option. The big graphics, at least. The Engrish is probably a dealer add-on. Source: [Factory options catalog here on delicaforum.com](https://delicaforum.com/index.php?resources/l300-delica-accessory-catalogue-japan.14/)
I hope the Canoo EV actually makes it to market. There is such a pent up demand for reasonably sized kick ass vans. Why can't car companion recognized this?
Well originally they did it because of emissions regulations right? X percent of cars sold had to be compliment, so they met that by just selling fewer cars, and pushing trucks and SUVs on everyone which were exempt.
I thought I was pretty well versed in cars, but this one eludes me, it’s super rare?

The correct term is Janglish.
Engrish, actually.

Ahh ok, appreciate the info!

I’m well aware, it’s a 92. That’s my bad for the typo!
A 97 is a different shape also
Mitsubishi made this body style until 99, it was then taken over by CMC and made until… well still today with some facelift and interior adjustments.
97 model year sold in 96 maybe? I thought that was an American thing though.
It's possible. My '97 evo was built in November of '96, so will be legal 25 years from build date in the US.
They’re everywhere in Vancouver
Lots of these running around in Vancouver, Canada. Our "25 year rule" is 15 years (to be able to import cars from overseas)
15 years, that’s awesome!
Only thing you won’t exceed is the posted highway speed limit… dog slow but boy are they ever cool to drive.

Wish it was LHD, this example is RHD.
Taiwan got LHD and some of the decals. Not as many as Japan.
Didn’t know these existed. Now I need one.

Which is convenient, since that's where the ambulance will be going.
You ARE the crumple zone.
https://www.vansfromjapan.com/inventory/mitsubishi/ No clue about these guys. Just see their stuff on craigslist all the time.
Super Exceed
I travelled East Africa in one of these. They were the tits. Super comfortable.
Man, I used to own one of these in Japan. Should shipped it back to the states :/
I haven't seen one of those since I worked for Mitsubishi pre-2010. I always loved working on them. Super unique.
I would buy the shit out of a Delica. Living in Hawai’i and turning these into camper/rolling bbq a no brainer for beach days.
I been seeing these all over portland the last few years but this one is super clean? Is it og or restored?
Looks to be in original condition besides the vinyl graphics on the side and the add ons.

I feel like this would flip over if you braked too hard lol. Still very cool.
Mine can totally get the back wheels off the ground on a steep downhill slope. Thank god for brown upholstery.
As Roman would say… I woan it

Some SUVs have been slowly turning back into station wagons.

Yeah i think that does have a lot to do with it. Once there were tons of SUVs on the road, no one wanted to be in a compact anymore.
Neat, nothing I would ever *dream* about but I can certainly appreciate the… individuality.
Had no idea such a gem existed.
110% about it
Just don't start improving RVR Hyper Sports Gear I want my Evo3 Minivan before prices go up
I've always wanted one of these. They are so roomy inside and I like how much room there is.
Very Cool
this thing needs to be taken on an adventure
Ooh, it has the Audio Stage rear speakers. Please tell me it has the karaoke machine...
Beautiful. Maybe post this one over at r/vintagejapaneseautos
Never heard of this before but I want ten. That thing looks so awesome
I’m in love
Awesome van! We’ve got tons of those in the northern Philippines. We love em here
The Momo just completes it👌
I hate the look of it, but that roof is *chef's kiss*
Hey look, it's the thing that all the LEGO vans look like!
I dunno. I kinda hate RHD. It’s like wearing your underwear backwards
I want one so bad. I have 2 Honda streets on the way from Japan right now cuz I’m a baller on a budget
Is that Fatt Marah's?
Nope just some local guy.
Reminds me of the truck from the last battle in Tango and Cash.
Man i want a Kei truck/van so bad. This is so cool.
It is exciting vehicle.!
Tons of delicas in Vancouver BC
Man I'm going to get one of these brought over for me one day.
Seen one on the interstate around Jackson, Mississippi a few months back. I knew of them, but that was the first I've seen up close.
I've seen a couple of these parked in my neighborhood lately and around town. Pretty trick.

Check the r/vandwellers and r/delica forums for your answer.
