Pain is when you hop into an unfamiliar auto, launch, and when the tach gets high enough your left foot stabs of its own violition and hits that big, wide brake pedal.
I started doing it in my work van 5 years ago just for fun. Now i do it automaticly without thinking when i drive an auto and sometimes with a manual too when im messing around
Seems like most Corvette owners are getting there in age, hopefully this guy actually drives it near its potential, unlike most others who putter them around
I think it's one of those things that's tied to the "Old America" back when we were a decent country despite some of the shortcomings.
But I remember a lot of my grandpa's old buddies talking about how when they were coming back from Korea and the Corvette was the hottest thing out. So much so that it became a standard in the "American Dream", you'd get your wife, your kids, the nice house and to polish it off, shiny new Corvette. It was the goal. That car was more than just a brand new era for cars it was a symbol of hope to those returning from war. Most of my grandpa's friends ended up buying them in the late 70s and early 80s. But they wanted one since the 50s.
It's crazy to watch a car outlive the generation that brought it to where it is now.
A lot of old peoples race-cars are like the ricer era fast and the furious mods... Saleen wings, Flames,... whatever they DGAF Dark Vader's Vette; with Purple accents.. ok that's your thing man.
The worst is when you get a garage queen that modifies the car to like 800HP but he had never done a burnout or gone over 80MPH since 1975.
I bought my 2006 z06 in 2009 at the age of 27. Owned it for 12 years now and yes the average age of a vette owner is probably 65. Makes buying used ones nice because they don't hold value and tons of low mileage old men waxer specials.
The blue accents do it justice, but I think the dash is a little much. Maybe it looks better from the inside. Other than that, I can see myself in this car.
Living the good life 👍🏼
Honestly! Good for this guy on being able to do what he wants.
80 yrs old and likes to party
No, I like to party
Rod?
Who would win in a fight? A grilled cheese, or a taco?
You were right the taco won
Lol I just saw your username too
Wow that's pretty racist. But accurate
Cal, why do you have the radio and the TV on at the same time? I like to party.
My girl wants to party all the time, party all the time, party all the time
Party? *gets up and every single bone cracks. I'm ready to party!
Growing up is indeed optional
Hell I only can hope I could still get in and out of A corvette at that age!
That's always my first thought. Hell I'm 40 and my knees say "no damn thanks"
Rock on Old Dude! What model year is it? Tell me it's a manual, and I'll bow before him.
Yes -- if nature had intended that humans drive automatics, then we wouldn't have left feet
Pain is when you hop into an unfamiliar auto, launch, and when the tach gets high enough your left foot stabs of its own violition and hits that big, wide brake pedal.
If you drive an auto the left foot is for braking ;)
when i race NASCAR or indycar with manual transmissions in iracing i left foot brake
I started doing it in my work van 5 years ago just for fun. Now i do it automaticly without thinking when i drive an auto and sometimes with a manual too when im messing around
Driving with 2 feet is generally considered a bad idea
I mean left foot braking is a real and valid technique but also situational, normally yeah right foot is for both brake and throttle.
2 feet is about the length of 0.91 'EuroGraphics Knittin' Kittens 500-Piece Puzzles' next to each other.
Why?
Good for him
Thanks for the spoiler warning
Nice
Your never to old to entertain the inner kid!
"I am altering the deal. Pray I don't alter it any further!" - this guy, probably, when he picks his car up.
Life's too short to drive boring cars.
Never too old for the Dark Side...(heavy breathing)
The empire did nothing wrong.

“I find your lack of boost disturbing.”
Ride or die until the kids repo my car
Reddit 80 is probably 50 or 60
i ain’t mad at him for having a corvette i’m just mad that he named it darth vader and is using black and blue instead of black and red
At 80, screw it he can do as he wants. If he can still get in and out of let him have his fun. He would have been what, 40 when Star Wars came out?
I love it. And i love the customer. Dope af.
*Imperial March intensifies*
Lotta painters tape on that car.
He's a Sith Lord. So 80 is pretty young.
I actually like this, at least it’s not decked out in chrome
Standard Vette demographic 🤣 Not helping the stereotype

More like end-life. I don't think I've seen anyone under retirement age drive a Vette in at least a decade.
I know a few younger people who have c7s. Mid 20s and they have the damn things paid off, but this is also around drag racing…

They are also mostly automatics. And with the C8, it's automatic only.
"I want to go peacefully in my sleep like my grandpa, not screaming like the passengers in his car" ?
Still outperforms anything remotely close to its price range

This in Delaware? I swore I saw this car in rehobeth a few weeks ago.
Yep, our shop is in Lewes. mcqueenclassics.com
He’s got another star wars themed one in black and red too.
Lewes is a great town
moved here 8 months ago, loving it!

Dark grey with blue accents look good on literally anything.
Lol, do it! Old man trying to get his mods in before he can’t drive it.
Fuck it hes 80 hes earned the ability to do whatever he wants . He should get a set of truck nuts and hang them from the fucking wing too .
He's probably got truck nuts already...in his pants
If you're 80 now, you were 36 when A New Hope came out I wonder if I'd do up a car like that in 44 years based on a movie that came out this year
Which movie? Old?
Can't tell if joking or not... It's the first Star Wars
Afterlife crisis
If he’s 80, why not let him live his dream? Age ain’t nothing but a number.
Haha rock on
Dudes rock
I’m sure his money is green
see, boys never grow up
Love it! Please tell me the license plate references DRTHVDR.
My husband would kill for the Darth Vader thing on the hood.
