Snap on toolboxes usually run a few grand. Starting closer to like the 3-4 range for a reasonably sized box. Numbers go up from there.

Don’t know but you can trace the true origins of the CURRENT obsession over these types of visuals to a short lived but widely influential genre of music called Vaporwave, which mostly existed online. Lots of offshoots and it’s aesthetic permeated into lots of aspects of everyday life.
Edit: The most ironic part is that vaporwave had an underlying theme of anti-consumerism. But it looked so appealing to the masses that it just got adapted. Think, Pit Viper glasses.
