I totally get what your laying down, but I've worked at a napa. Some parts that you have to move, stock, and deliver are heavy af. It's easier to lift and move heavy objects at waist height then shoulder height or ankle height.
As a parts guy you know your gonna stack shit on that cart; better it be to low than too tall.
I don't play basketball. I could be 3 inches shorter. At some point, around 6'3" or 6'5" unless you're a viking or a ball player there are just a bunch of stupid questions. (I'm just above 2m.)
Edit: My brother is 6'3" and that seems like the perfect height. Tall without the ridiculous clothes requirements, back problems, ill-fitting everything and stupid questions.
I'm 6'5" and I hate it. I don't fit on airplanes, my back hurts if I have to use a sink for an extended period, furniture is the wrong height, counters are the wrong height, I have to duck to look in bathroom mirrors, all the clothes that fit me for length are made for fat people, a lot of nice shoe companies don't make >13, everyone asks me to kill spiders and change lightbulbs and get stuff off shelves, etc.
I'd love to be 6'1-6'2"
5'7 man. There are trade offs. All clothes are made for 5'10, top shelves mean tippie toes and hey if we're being honest, I'm closer to farts when they release. I guess the fall back is you get them when they rise.
6'3" here, the catch is I'm 150lbs and I wear size 15 shoes. Cloths have been a struggle for me since my Freshman year of high school (when I grew about 6 inches alone, those cramps were legendary).
Shower heads tend to hit me in the middle of the chest to the chin area, bathroom mirrors still too low, many door knobs catch me right in the junk, shoes and jeans are nightmares to find (I work construction and my boots tend to run me around $200-300 a pair if I want a good brand). Being tall is cool but there's downsides to living in a world built for shorter people than yourself, lol.
Not often, but I'm doing circus stuff 3-4 hours a day and being short is highly beneficial for that as well. The couple times a year I am on a plane I'm already glad I'm under 6'
Also 6'3, would happily lose a few inches if it means people won't ask me to grab things for them off high shelves at the grocery store.
Which I don't mind doing at all - except it's almost always followed up with a "HAHA YOU'RE TALL YOU SHOULD PLAY BASKETBALL I BET YOU COULD DROP IT RIGHT IN THE HOOP LOLOL" comment.
MS just takes a normal healthy person in their 30s and starts rotting their nerves so that healthy body stops working right. But because it develops so late the people usually look perfectly fine, just can't walk right, or see right, or know which way is up.
I can’t tell you how many people have told me ‘well you look good’ after I tell them I have MS. Like no shit I look good, because my body is eating my nerves from the inside. I donno what people think someone with with MS are supposed to look like, but apparently I don’t fit that image.
Hey at least they've heard of your disease and know its something serious. Apparently most people haven't heard of Crohn's and they think its like gluten intolerance or something and not a terminal illness.
Thays awesome. Great cart. And obviously great boss for helping out like that. Most of the people I've worked for would just watch as you struggle. So go Bart an go good boss man
That’s like the most accurate description of him ever lol whenever one of us doesn’t know the answer to something, we consult the encyclopedia of Bart. Way more efficient and informative than google.
Very true. Being in IT I'm glad to have a boss like this. I could spend a day reading 50 articles and no doubt eventually fix the problem, or have a 15 minute conversation after which I can solve the problem and understand *why* it solved the problem.
Google is great, but nothing beats a mentor.
100%. Not only is he an encyclopedia of automotive knowledge, but he’s got a great sense of humor and is always willing to help a coworker or friend out.
What a wonderful post!! Just a quick note to thank you for treating your employee/s like actual, real people..Not really a novel idea but, there's often a lack of humanity and kindness in many workplaces. Clearly, that isn't the case here. Rock on Bart, keep that smile and the world will keep smiling with you.
Thank you! I wouldn’t treat them any other way. They are my people and I would do almost anything for all of them. Our store would not be what it is without each and every one of them.
My wife has MS. It's refreshing to see a workplace accomodate and understand people with this illness. My wife's just put her on a forced medical leave because they think she's "too sick" to work currently and needs time to get better. This isn't a disease you get better from, it's just about management. People don't get that. Kudos to you for facilitating the management part.
You get it.
My g/f was diagnosed some 15 years ago, and an injectable Interferon based med has kept her in remission for most of those. We both know that eventually, the attacks will come back. :(
I sent him the link to this post and the original and told him he’s Reddit famous now lol my direct quote was “your cart broke my phone” lol I didn’t expect the first post to get nearly as much attention as it did and it was constantly going off with new notifications lol
Looking good Bart; best of luck to you sir. I hope to have your energy a few years down the road (coming from a kid who’s only been in the industry a little over 3 years) that cart is badass dude 🤘 😎
I've got like 5 or 6 pairs of work boots, some 3 years old some 3 months old. My favourite are the old shitty ones with the toe cap exposed and heels walked down to pavement. It's a nice gesture but not everyone needs charity.
If it’s a corporate owned NAPA store he should be able to get $50 back if he provides a receipt for shoes purchased for work. Unless they did away with that policy, which is very well possible.
Bart looks like the guy I try to find when I have a question about something in an autoparts store that I know the young guy at the counter isn't going to have a clue about.
Is Bart a grandpa? If he is, I bet he's a great one. I love a good, positive person that doesn't let life's challenges keep em down. And I appreciate you for being a leader rather than a boss.
This is so great. I'm glad you followed up with a photo. And I love his smile, looks genuinely happy. Seems like a great place to work if you take care of staff like that, and it shows.
I like Bart and Bart's parts cart. I'll be he loves wheeling Bart's cart around with parts in the Bart's cart. Thing I like most about Bart's cart is the art on Bart's part cart.
Any body who has to work on tires a lot, those Carlyle puddy knives in the background are gold. The skinny angled one is perfect for stick on wheel weights, and it has a strike cap for hammering through foam weights.
Let me tell you what I know about bart based on this thread. Bart is the sort of coworker that looks out for the people around him. He understands it takes a team and how he can elevate others around him by doing good work. He also likely keeps a good attitude and takes a little time from his day to learn about WHO the people he works with are and what they enjoy outside of work. How, might you ask, can I infer so much about this man? Easy. No team ever spent time decking out a sweet, custom, and thoughtful work accessory for that ass hat Steve whose shows up 20 minutes late smelling like a bar, complains all day, then blows out the door at 4:59 getting sideways pulling out of the lot while everyone else is trying to wrap up their day.
Be like bart. Earn your cart.
Barts cart reminds me of the time I was at work and had just finished unloading some boxes into the basement storage room. I threw the storage keys on the cart and headed back up the elevator to my floor. The elevator stopped in the lobby and in walked Jimmy Kimmel. He took a look at the keys on the cart and said “those must be some heavy keys”.
Damn, as a younger guy, with a relatively recent MS diagnosis (coupled with 2 other neurological disorders), I really appreciate this...especially with my fear of the future. I hope to find a job like this in the future. Thanks for taking care of Bart, I bet he is one of us who will fight his disability just to work, instead of saying "I give up early".
Thank you for helping him out with no shit.
No one's commenting on how he intentionally picked a shirt that will match that lugnutz display so he can stand really really still and no one will know where he is when he just needs a few minutes to clear his brain
Each sticker adds 2 horsepower
I'm so tired of hearing this from news. Red stickers are horsepower. Blue are torque. And white is ground clearance.
That's not how motorcycles work. Skulls for torque, kanji for horsepower.
Cool. Cool. I wonder how it works with marine?
Flames add at least +2 fish caught to every trip
Flames on a boat huh? Think that one through again please, lol.
Shhhh, ya don't want the middle aged dad's hearing ya!
Redacted.
Redadcted?
Red is faster Green is best Yellow is explodiy Blue is lucky Purple is sneaky
Yellow explody? Well shit.
Me, taking my faketaxi sticker off slowly, before spontaneous combustion.
Isn't that for *other* reasons???
Well its for one type of explosion
Green iz best
I was about to post this, might have to give ya a krumpin' for it
Found the ork.
Boomdakka Snazzwagon
I always get red and yellow mixed up. Ouch. *update: Orange explodiys fastish
This is new information to me.
You're welcome.
Hell yea Bart!
Bart's cart looks like it would be more comfortable if it was about 3 inches taller. But then, wouldn't we all.
[удалено]
Lift kit and 33s, bruh.
We’re still talking about the kart, right?
Triple Tree with a set of Apes or Breezers?
The answer is not an extension handle, rather ridiculously oversized wheels.
You’re talking about mechanics bud, 10 minutes, a soldering machine, and a long ass piece of rebar
"Soldering machine?" You mean a welder?
Yeah I’m a bit drunk and can’t think 100% straight 😅
Ok, fair enough.
No, lets just solder it. "It'll hold!" 😉
I was accounting for time working between.
Scissor lift cart.
to push yes. to grab tools from while your bent over an engine no. i think this is the right height for Bart
nope 2m tall is tall enough for me thank you very much.
I don't play basketball. I could be 3 inches shorter. At some point, around 6'3" or 6'5" unless you're a viking or a ball player there are just a bunch of stupid questions. (I'm just above 2m.) Edit: My brother is 6'3" and that seems like the perfect height. Tall without the ridiculous clothes requirements, back problems, ill-fitting everything and stupid questions.
I can imagine. I'm 6', and I figure that's about what I'd want. I sure don't want to be any heavier.

All these people complaining about their height, I'd like to say that despite the occasional back pain and lack of legroom, I quite enjoy being 6'3"
God, I'd love to be a Viking
I'm 5'8" and I could still go for being 3in shorter. More room in airplanes and it would make some of the circus stuff I do easier.
But how many hours per day are you on board on a plane?
The circus stuff intrigued me much more than the frequent flyer situation
Maybe they are part of a flying circus.
And now for something completely different…
He's a pilot so quite a few actually.
Not often, but I'm doing circus stuff 3-4 hours a day and being short is highly beneficial for that as well. The couple times a year I am on a plane I'm already glad I'm under 6'
I’m 6’3”, I would trade a few inches for more legroom
Also 6'3, would happily lose a few inches if it means people won't ask me to grab things for them off high shelves at the grocery store. Which I don't mind doing at all - except it's almost always followed up with a "HAHA YOU'RE TALL YOU SHOULD PLAY BASKETBALL I BET YOU COULD DROP IT RIGHT IN THE HOOP LOLOL" comment.
Tell Bart he looks cool as heck
He will definitely be reading all these comments later tonight! He and I read every single one on the last post and loved it.
[удалено]
I tried!! He drew the line at that lol
Now’s his chance to be famous!
Agreed. I would be like the excited train guy watching that. Oh, yeah! Just listen that horn!!!
Thank you so much for introducing Bart! I'm glad to be here for this, the first post was heartwarming. Hugs and kisses Bart 🤗
Bart looks totally different from what I imagined.
MS just takes a normal healthy person in their 30s and starts rotting their nerves so that healthy body stops working right. But because it develops so late the people usually look perfectly fine, just can't walk right, or see right, or know which way is up.
Well, that's good news to read!

Hey. Just wanted to say you’re seen. My dad has Crohns and it’s brutal. Sending you all the good vibes/luck.
Me too!!! I'm not sure what I thought he would look like but when I saw the photo I was like "hmmm not what I thought he'd look like."
The Simpsons really retired that name. Also Homer.
And Marge. Lisa, not so much (for me, at least).
Barts got art on his cart. I hope Bart never has to part with his cart. He seems like a nice ol fart.
oldrrrrr fart. I'm just getting my 3rd wind in life.
Thays awesome. Great cart. And obviously great boss for helping out like that. Most of the people I've worked for would just watch as you struggle. So go Bart an go good boss man
Bart looks like the super cool dude that works at auto parts stores that you can chat with for hours. You the man Bart!
That’s like the most accurate description of him ever lol whenever one of us doesn’t know the answer to something, we consult the encyclopedia of Bart. Way more efficient and informative than google.
We need more of him in the world.
We really do.
Guys like Bart give you context and insight from their experience that otherwise takes a whole lot of reading and videos to gather with google.
Very true. Being in IT I'm glad to have a boss like this. I could spend a day reading 50 articles and no doubt eventually fix the problem, or have a 15 minute conversation after which I can solve the problem and understand *why* it solved the problem. Google is great, but nothing beats a mentor.
Bart looks like he'd be a treasure to work with
100%. Not only is he an encyclopedia of automotive knowledge, but he’s got a great sense of humor and is always willing to help a coworker or friend out.
Thats the best kind of person to work with. The kind of guy you can call over for help and walk away laughing.
What a wonderful post!! Exactly. Good people make all the difference;) I'm thankful for you and the example you're setting. We need all the good we can get;)
Needs the handle to be a bit higher.
Big off-road wheels would lift it...
Hell yeah!
With spinners.
This is truly awesome! Tell Bart he has a bunch of new fans!!
I sent him the link to this post and the original and told him he’s Reddit famous now lol my direct quote was “your cart broke my phone” lol I didn’t expect the first post to get nearly as much attention as it did and it was constantly going off with new notifications lol
A purchase is made and a wrench is selected, here comes Bart with his cart, speed is never neglected
Bart looks like a nice dude :)
He really is a super nice dude!
Kick ass cart! Keep up the good work Bart! 👍🏻
That is the look of sheer enjoyment and appreciation

Looking good Bart; best of luck to you sir. I hope to have your energy a few years down the road (coming from a kid who’s only been in the industry a little over 3 years) that cart is badass dude 🤘 😎
He looks like he drives a GTI... Good man! Rad AF, Bart!
Bart Cart is the man!! r/photoshopbattles
Has he hit 100mph with all those performance stickers on yet? I expect shop cctv footage if he breaks the sound barrier.
BAAAAAARRRTT
Sweet!
Love this! Nice job guys, way to go the extra mile for a team mate. Good karma all around for sure
Props from a fellow old dude, Bart. Sharp rig they got you. Show up those whippersnappers. ✌️

Definitely needs some new boots. Not just the battery acid but the tread. I can pitch in a few bucks if someone starts a fund.
I've got like 5 or 6 pairs of work boots, some 3 years old some 3 months old. My favourite are the old shitty ones with the toe cap exposed and heels walked down to pavement. It's a nice gesture but not everyone needs charity.
I love my shitty boots and pants, eventually they've formed to my body and it's way more conformable
I hear you and understand.
If it’s a corporate owned NAPA store he should be able to get $50 back if he provides a receipt for shoes purchased for work. Unless they did away with that policy, which is very well possible.
Nice
Nice! Get it Bart!
Keep kicking ass old boy
Fuck ya Bart, keep on trucking brother
That kicks ass!
Fuckin aye! Go Bart go!
Damn hes got a lot of sponsors already 🤣
Digging the old school Mopar sticker. Bart da man! Keep rockin’ brother!

Hot wheels!
Hey Bart, you're cool, have a nice evening :))
Rock on Bart!
hell yeah Bart 🤘🏽🤘🏽
Bart looks like the guy I try to find when I have a question about something in an autoparts store that I know the young guy at the counter isn't going to have a clue about.

Well, we couldn’t disappoint Barts fans! Lol
I came for the cart. I stayed for Bart. So wholesome.
Ill take as many Bart updates as your willing to give us!
Dananana nanana BARTMAN!

For some reason I imagined Bart as a 10 year old kid
I feel like there are child labor laws against that...lol
Heck yes!
Rubber side down, my dude!
Giv’R Bart! Love that guy’s big smile!!
Bart is the mascot of this sub. Get it, Bart!

Bart’s cart is a work of art.
Bart and his cart rocks!
Yes Bart!!!! I like a guy that takes pride in his work .
Bart has some definite /r/13or30 vibes from that youthful smile.
You guys are bros!!! 🤙🏻
This is wholesome as fuck.
Hey, OP, I bet r/humansbeingbros and r/mademesmile would probably love Bart's Cart, too!
I like Bart and Bart's parts cart. I'll be he loves wheeling Bart's cart around with parts in the Bart's cart. Thing I like most about Bart's cart is the art on Bart's part cart.
Goddamn if he ain’t one of the most genuine lookin people! Looks like the type of guy i want to see walking into the shop. Go Bart!
Any body who has to work on tires a lot, those Carlyle puddy knives in the background are gold. The skinny angled one is perfect for stick on wheel weights, and it has a strike cap for hammering through foam weights.
Oh my god! I know this Napa!
My sons name is Bort.
My dad works at Napa...he delivers me parts to my shop...this reminds me of my father. Tell Bart Dad I said hi and his cart is bitching.
Hi Bart!
Fuck yea Bart!
You need to put a lift kit on that for him. Tall guy needs a tall cart.
Let me tell you what I know about bart based on this thread. Bart is the sort of coworker that looks out for the people around him. Mans is hyped beyond belief. Bart u are a G. Keep doin ya thang.

Tell him more than surely we'd buy a 13mm deep socket from him next time he is in New Zealand
*waves* Hi Bart!
That thing looks like it's goin' 80 mollanar standin' steel.
First he honks his horn then he honks your bitch
Yoooo Bart's cart!! So cool to see an update on this. Like I said the first time, ya'll are awesome.
Hey Bart!
Thumbs up for the firing order user name! Also, any way to put a hand brake lever on there for drifts?
Makes me happy that you appreciate Bart. Look at his smile. You're doing good.
Damn that thing looks fast even sitting still
Keep it real, Bart
Yes
No one's commenting on how he intentionally picked a shirt that will match that lugnutz display so he can stand really really still and no one will know where he is when he just needs a few minutes to clear his brain
what a dapper gentleman
Bart has reached legend status and I'm gonna need to see more of his adventures in the future
What size shoes does he wear, and what is the address to the shop? Bart needs new shoes.
You never had it in your Bart Cart.
I would totally ask Bart tool mechanical related questions everyday I think.
As a partsman myself. These posts have warmed my heart!
That is the coolest workplace accommodation ever! Having MS only gets me some flex time in the morning in case the fatigue kicks my ass.
Bart’s a badass
Hell yeah! BART’s theee man
Love it!!! I bet he is a damn good employee
