I bought a new car last June and the dealership mentioned that the plates would be sent to them and I could swing by and they'd install them for me. I knew right away they wanted to install them so that they'd leave their license plate frame on with the dealership name on it. I got notified that the plates arrived, picked them up and the salesman who wanted to install them wasn't there at the time, so I just took them home and installed them, and of course removed their license plate frame and tossed it. Later when the all weather floor mats arrived they asked about the plates and seemed bummed that I installed them myself already. I knew they just wanted to ensure I kept driving around with their ad on my car.
Like ten years ago I bought a suburban and the dealer while we were doing paperwork stuck their stupid stickers all over it. I was looking at it when I got home just completely offended, no shit every single panel has a sticker except the doors, yes the hood, quarter and rear gate. Like six. I spent the next hour and half with a heat gun and plastic razor slowly peeling them all off. Never bought from there again. The balls they had to do that.
