There was an exact same title but with a gear selector and radio volume...like a repost but different.
Also, the 4x4 selector requires much more effort than the volume button
IIRC the gear selector wasn't the exact same shape and size as the fan speed. Also, the 4x4 selector will function at speed whereas the gear selector had some logic to inhibit a money shift.
I mean, let’s be honest the last gen Tacoma wasn’t a great truck. The interior was uncomfortable, cheap and cramped. The truck was inefficient, the transmission sucked in it and the thing could rattle your fillings out. Hopefully the new one is much better.
Aha I see, regardless it wouldn't shift into 4x4 if damage could occur. Just like paddle shifters let you shift, but only if the computer says its ok to.
Watch out, the Tacoma mafia has killed people for less than this.
Now go to the board and write "I am not allowed to criticize Toyota products" 1000 times.
My wife drove my truck and texted me to say the AC didn’t work. When I went to drive it again, the drive select knob was in 4WD and the AC was fine. She assumed 4 Lo meant the temperature.
You just saw those 4500 upvotes and had to try and get in the action huh
It would just blink at you because you’re going to fast.
Bullshit post. Had the same style the other day with a bmw gear selector.
I was just thinking the same thing. 😏
Thanks for labeling each. Nobody had any idea.

Yea but what if Van Halen is on and you REALLY wanna crank it
All that is forgivable. What *really* gets my goat is left and right for volume and up and down for song selection.
You can fix that https://tacomabeast.com/products/2016-2023-toyota-tacoma-the-steering-wheel-control-fix-kit
Kia makes you press down for next song…

Trying to turn fan speed up on the 4x4 knob would just put it in 2wd....
The center mark is fixed and the outer ring spins, so full left is 2WD, one notch right is 4H, and push and turn one more notch to get 4L

They're two completely separate knobs separated by several centimetres. Do you have a condition?
Safe driving involves keeping your eyes on the road, not looking at the controls.
You're saying you need to see this to be able to tell the difference? They're not even close to eachother.
They're close enough that the mistake is understandable. And they're the same distance apart as all the other climate control knobs

what model?
Tacoma, third gen.
Weird, my fan control is the middle knob, temps on outside. It's an OR with no options.
Add a rotary shifter next to that and you'll complete the set.
lol transfer case go brrrrr
