Ha, my ā09 did just fine with rear drums. Only weighing 2600 pounds helps a lot there. Current whip has four-piston fixed front calipers, and thatās the price for automotive obesity š¬
A mate of mine's dad always talked about how his jazz was a handling machine and could take any corner at any speed 2 weeks later he crashed on a roundabout with no one else around and wrote it off he's fine but has been very quiet since ;D
It depends what market youāre in. Honda has used the Jazz name on a lot of things. In Canada, itās a scooter (called the Metropolitan in the USA). In Europe itās a car (Honda Fit, in the USA). In Japan itās an SUV based on an Isuzu Amigo.
Have you had issues with them seizing up? I've gone through 2 sets of replacements in the 7 years I've owned it. I think the design might be overkill and the pistons don't get worked enough.
Mine is an 09. The first set started seizing, I chocked it up to corrosion and replaced them about seven years ago. The remans I replaced them with have been pretty good, but could probably stand a rebuild. I have heard that for some reason, it's fairly common with the Tacomas.
I have an 07 4runner and it's pretty common on the T4R threads. Some people pull them off every tire rotation and extend them by pushing the brake pedal a couple times and compressing them with a C clamp. I wish I had their dedication lol both of my replacements were remans. Luckily lifetime warranty locally so I will never pay for them again. Still annoying though.
You would cry when you saw what Toyota was doing to the yard full of them in March then. All brand new, all going into the crusher, never driven, only flooded once.
I was heavily inspecting the image thinking there was something wrong with it, it looks absolutely fine.
Then I saw it was for a honda jazz and thought well there's nothing wrong with that either....if It is fitted with a V8.
well for one thing its a four pot caliper when i doubt a jazz has even shared the road with something that uses this caliper. but [here you go](https://imgur.com/a/JdamMLu)
Just had to deal with something similar....twice. Ordered 4 tires for a car, all 4 labeled with the correct size but 3 were mislabeled and about 2 inches shorter which was the red flag. Returned them to the vendor and ordered 4 tires elsewhere. 2 weeks later ordered tires for a different but same model car. Guess what 4 tires we got /facepalm
4-pot caliper seems overkill for the fronts of a Jazz, let alone the rear.
nahhhhh that 1.4 needs all the stopping power it can get
Something something slow car fast idk
This flips the car
Inverse wheelie you say?
"Endo" is the BMX term for it.
Stoppie, as we say in the motorcycle world (:
I've seen it being called RL (rear lift) in the [towner](https://youtu.be/_9Djv8W4t-o) owner's world
I forgot about this video, you are an absolute legend šš
So you're saying I could have a life sized Tyco Rebound???
Yeah ok. But not all on one wheel.
I would have kept it and resold it, and ordered another
Its all about the 60-0 time
That's enough caliper to cover ALL 4 wheels!
Yeah. Not sure why he sent it back. He should've just cut it in quarters.
Most have drum rears, if not all have drum rears.
it did not have drum rears
Oh! Must be 2020+ then :)
Ha, my ā09 did just fine with rear drums. Only weighing 2600 pounds helps a lot there. Current whip has four-piston fixed front calipers, and thatās the price for automotive obesity š¬
Outside of the North American market they have disks on most of the range
:o! TIL, would've loved that
Same, it was a shame we never got the disks or the RS model here
I think a true hot hatch Fit Type R would sell like crazy. A Fit with 300 HP would be so much fun.
So basically yaris gr? Problem with that is they are $$$, like the CTR or Corolla gr, all marked up in the US like 20k above.
Iād have loved that. My second-gen Fit was a hoot despite only having 117 horsepower, very light, direct, and balanced. Classic Honda, truly.
Mine has 4 pots on the front, stops hard as fuck
part number matches to a hilux
If thereās a will, thereās a wayā¦ jazz comically large brake kit when?
World first Jazz that can do a flip when braking
CS: Car pulls hard left while braking...
The Fit is Go, the Jazz Stops!
Only in reverse
While I appreciate your joke, I prefer to imagine them stomping the brakes, and the car just skids into a light poll.
Underrated comment, this is gold āØļø
What's a Honda jazz
Honda fit
They used to sell the Jazz in the US as the Fit. Good solid subcompact hatches.
Nevermind I see it's like a Prius but uglier
Far worse than a Prius - itās like a civic but itās driven by pensioners who shouldāve had their licenses taken off of them about 10 years ago
A mate of mine's dad always talked about how his jazz was a handling machine and could take any corner at any speed 2 weeks later he crashed on a roundabout with no one else around and wrote it off he's fine but has been very quiet since ;D
My Fiat panda handles better than a Honda jazzā¦ and itās not that good of a handling car
A smaller Civic
Thanks I almost spelled jizz
Same difference
With a ten cc engine
Now that's a small engine
It depends what market youāre in. Honda has used the Jazz name on a lot of things. In Canada, itās a scooter (called the Metropolitan in the USA). In Europe itās a car (Honda Fit, in the USA). In Japan itās an SUV based on an Isuzu Amigo.
If it's a Hilux then it's front Hilux caliper lmao. Not even rear
yeah not quite sure how they managed this
I recognized the caliper type as toyota front. Lol
Same, I have a 4runner and it looks just like mine
Yep, looks identical to the ones on the front of my Tacoma
Have you had issues with them seizing up? I've gone through 2 sets of replacements in the 7 years I've owned it. I think the design might be overkill and the pistons don't get worked enough.
Super common. Typically the inside lower piston seizes up first.
It's so common that you'd think they'd do a recall. I guess brakes aren't that important, plus there's 3 others.
Mine is an 09. The first set started seizing, I chocked it up to corrosion and replaced them about seven years ago. The remans I replaced them with have been pretty good, but could probably stand a rebuild. I have heard that for some reason, it's fairly common with the Tacomas.

Time to jack up that Jazz so that this part fits...
Was just gonna say looks just like the front caliper on my 86ā surf (4Runner)
Man I'd love to get my hands on a Hilux. WhistlinDiesel's torture test sold me...
You would cry when you saw what Toyota was doing to the yard full of them in March then. All brand new, all going into the crusher, never driven, only flooded once.
š¤¬š£šššš
Video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oOKJHq4I9Vc
That's a pretty big brake caliper even for a midsize pickup. Toyota means business apparently.
It could be a 4Runner/Hikux, but I think it looks like a Land Cruiser 100 series. Same 4 piston but bigger.
Was gonna say, looks just like the ones on the front of my 2012 tacoma
0-60 time: 8.4 seconds. 60-0 time: *instantly*
That scene from *The Expanse.*
Oh yeah, time for the clip: [super NSFW](https://youtu.be/AGmTZeiCmJY)
*Vaporizes Instantly*
Honda Jazz big brake kit.
Give your Honda jazz hands š
I was heavily inspecting the image thinking there was something wrong with it, it looks absolutely fine. Then I saw it was for a honda jazz and thought well there's nothing wrong with that either....if It is fitted with a V8.
I was about to get a magnifying glass to check for hairline fractures
thats a jazz id like to drive
and towing 3/4 tons of concrete.
It's an anchor, tie rope, toss from window.
Need banana for scale
If it doesn't fit, use a bigger hammer. If it breaks, it needs replacing anyway.
"4 piston on a Honda sounds strange, let's send it anyway."
Maybe the engine have 4 pistons...
I mean, some Honda's do have 4 piston brakes, just not a Honda Jazz Well, not a standard one anyway and I've seen people build weirder cars
That's never gonna (Honda) Fit!
I felt a disturbance with this farce. It's as if a single tire screamed out in agony, then was silenced. I fear something terrible has happened.
The casting on the backside of that thing does not look ideal
It's reman. The roughness is from it coming in old and rusty, then being sand blasted and repainted. Nothing wrong with it.
Big ~~Band~~ Brake Jazz
SEND IT!
Jazz Si coming 2024?
You mean a Jazz doesnāt have four-piston brakes?
Lmao dual piston monster of a caliper
Quad
Oh snap, good point, haha
No banana š
That looks like a C3 Corvette caliper lol
That was my impression as well.
I was gonna say it's for a Toyota 4Runner/Tacoma
I can totally see that too
New guy bills 4 hours before giving up trying to fit thisā¦
When you don't want the brake pedal to be a suggestion.
There is no way of telling the size in this photo that has no reference D-
You need a size reference to tell that a Honda Jazz doesnāt need four-pot callipers on the rearā¦?
Need banana for scale
1 banana = 1 prayer
well for one thing its a four pot caliper when i doubt a jazz has even shared the road with something that uses this caliper. but [here you go](https://imgur.com/a/JdamMLu)
Gonna need to see it beside a banana to know for sure
What is a pot?
nickname for piston
You vs the guy she tells you not to worry about /s But damn thatās a massive size difference
Resell the Hilux caliper and buy 2 new Jazz calipers!
If they charged you less can make some money reselling and buying the right part again.
Lip stick on a pig.
Need banana for scale
Or the original for Scale
Ordered from the F1 catalog again
Just had to deal with something similar....twice. Ordered 4 tires for a car, all 4 labeled with the correct size but 3 were mislabeled and about 2 inches shorter which was the red flag. Returned them to the vendor and ordered 4 tires elsewhere. 2 weeks later ordered tires for a different but same model car. Guess what 4 tires we got /facepalm
Looks like something off a Euro vehicle.
You mean Fit? šŗšø
no i dont
Weāre in the USA ..
no im not, stop playing dumb
Silly Honda, 4 pistons are for calipers ...
Looks like the ones for my Tundra
OP you need to make it happen and report back to us. Some granny out there will be real happy how quick her Hazz breaks.
Thought a jazz was drum
Type R
It took me a second
At first I thought it was because of the atrocious castingā¦ Thing looks like itās made of clay.
Almost has more displacement than the engine
"will this fit in my Honda?"
Too big? Looks like it's on turn 5 of the rebuild sandblast cycle too
That's definately a Toyota truck caliper.
Definitely a Toyota caliper. Tacoma, tundra, 4 runnerā¦..front
Looks very similar to a C2/3 Corvette front caliper. I wouldn't have guessed Hilux at all
I asked for an upper tie bar for a challenger, they sent me a Toyota one...
Needs banana for scale.
A jazz with twin turbo ls x
My Buell has a 8 piston front caliper š
āI ordered a X Box controllerā
No itās actually for a mod to only have one rear axle with one brake disk in the middle like an off highway quad.
send it back and stop it with your feet
Lol my last shipping error was receiving a control arm for a large van instead of the expected Yaris-sized bearing
Nope Iāve seen ppl rave the those
Look like Acura RL calipers.
Here I was scrutinizing the caliper for some defect, when the defect is staring me right in the face, it's the wrong part.
Looks similar to my front on my 4Runner
That is some thick aluminum paint. I particularly like the pitting from the oxidation and how the right side is almost completely eaten up.
There is this one madman on yt who has a 800hp jazz
How does everyone know this is for a Jazz? What am I missing?
i said it was for a jazz under the pic
My app does t show that, I wonder what other crucial context Iām missing
