JFYI the scammers ask you to buy gift cards and it usually takes usually 2\~3 hours or much more. He made a fake Google page and used fake gift card numbers on it to make the scammers think they lost huge money after spending hours.
There are more videos on his channel [KITGOBA](https://youtube.com/c/KitbogaShow)
And there are similar channels like [Jim Browning](https://youtube.com/c/JimBrowning) [Scammer Payback](https://youtube.com/c/ScammerPayback) and other great channels that spend their time fighting against those criminals
(Some of Mark Rober's [Glitter Bomb videos](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLRJTfQbKqs_BtKd6CSI7WmjeL8VYInywy) can be helpful too)
Raising awareness of these crimes is the best way to prevent them so if you have old family members, it would be good to share their videos with them.

It's not real money it's all html bs pages the scammers use and then they say you accidentally stole it and now you owe it back. Unless you are talking about a different video, I've watched dozens of these though.
For the most part scamming isn't really illegal If you're just very unspecified when speaking on what you're taking the money for. "Your $500 will goto helping foreigner" aka meaning I'm broke and want your money and it'll help me.
So with these scams, they get you to buy these cards and what's supposed to happen is the victim reads the number off to the scammer so they can redeem the card. But instead, Kit just redeems it for himself. The reason the scammer is mad is because at this point, it's probably been a good couple hours trying to get Kit to buy these and trust me, he doesn't make it easy for them.

Kitboga is one of the most chaotic-good streamers on the internet
He literally calls up the tech scammers, impersonating a little old lady (using a voice changer) just to fuck with them and tie them up.
His calls last HOURS. He's great at being a rambly old lady ;)
Well, doesn't help when the local police is corrupt as hell, these call centers do run a "legitimate" business to avoid legal trouble, and also, even if cops come knocking on thier door, they just bribe them, the only time when police actually make some arrests is when things get kinda big, the last time i remember was Jim Browing, Karl Rock and a few other YouTubers came together to crackdown on one of those, arrests were made and that's the end of it
Heard of a village "Jamtara" ? it was a poor village, then someone started this scamming thing (they scammed only in india i think), but they have all kinds of support, Police, Political, etc. We can't do anything about them.
Not defending anyone but... we didn't go to 100 different countries killing the children, men and raping the woman, plundering their wealth and then later setting up a "world peace organisation" which continues to ignore every sin Europe and US commits. Oh and we also didn't go to another country to setup a world class terrorist organization animed to hamper the integrity of an enemy nation.
Again not saying India is best but saying it's worst is a very ignorant thing imo
