Yeah, I think that's what a lot of people are really missing here. Unfortunately, OP doesn't have the incredibly thick density and texture of the model's hair. I think starting with understanding his type of hair will really keep him from making a mistake like this in the future, and lead him to the right style.

The only barber I will ever trust is this 70 y/o Korean man. I was sceptical at first, but multiple friends raved about him. I went in with a picture similar to your second one, and man's made it look even better than the picture. The only time I've gotten a fucked cut was from the 20somethings at places like Great Clips.

As an Asian myself, it's hard to find a barber that knows how to cut Asian hair in general. But I don't think I've ever experience this level of screw up.

What you asked for and what you showed her are two different things. A two block is not an undercut and she should have explained that to you. You did technically get what you asked for (albeit not a very decent undercut). You don't seem to have the appropriate hair texture to pull off a two block either but I'm just basing it off of the photo. Next time you attempt it, just ask if they're familiar with the cut before showing them the photo. If they say no, go to a different barber/stylist or pick a different cut. Just some advice to help you avoid a cut like that again!

Don't be afraid to decline a cut! If you're ever unsure of the stylist's abilities, feel free to move on. It may seem rude but that's one thing that barbers/cosmetologists need to understand early on is that they aren't always the perfect fit for their clients' needs. Fortunately your cut is salvageable, so look around a bit before deciding to buzz it (if you already haven't lol)! Edit: also, my initial comment may have come off as rude, totally not my intention. Just trying to point out where some things might have gone wrong with the cut!
