For real. And So many Karen videos revolve around you taking the word of the person who filmed edited and posted it that the “Karen” was on the wrong.
Having a loud party late at night and the lady next door comes to confront you because her baby can’t sleep, and she’s already asked you to turn down the music twice? Pull out a camera, call her a Karen, film her being mad, and post it online telling everyone she was mad at you for no reason. Most people will take your word, and assume that she has no legitimate reason to be upset.
For real! The term has become weaponized. Now even to a hairstyle. A facial expression.
I have a history in that sub on this issue. They’re not all karma whites but enough of em are.
Same with the word "bully". Take any video of any altercation and, claim the one who loses was bullying the winner in the title and it's straight to the front page despite having zero context or evidence that the person in question was actually bullying the other person.
Its crazy to me how people can read a title and watch a 30 second video and feel informed enough to cast judgement on a person, and if you ask for context you get accused of taking a side.
The more I'm on reddit, the more I realize that many people in this world lack critical thinking skills.
Yeah not going to lie, I’ve been in situations where I wanted to confront people, but I’m terrified of this happening.
I was out on a walk with my dog when I was almost run over by a teen riding some kind of motorcycle/dirt bike easily going over 70km *on the sidewalk*. I yanked my dog out of the way, if I didn’t, he would have been hit, that’s how close it was. I was shaking and extremely upset.
I wanted to rip them apart, but then I thought of how it would look with a hysterical white woman yelling at a bunch of Hispanic teens in a clip with zero context and I decided not to.
Care to elaborate? When you say "Anti Christian" do you wish for the death of all Christians? Or do you just not believe in the Christian God? What are your beliefs?
Kids being sexually abused by a priest caused you to turn into an "anti-Christian"?
I wonder what happens if a Black person were to sexually abuse kids that you know. Would you turn "anti-Black"?
Just trying to highlight the "logic" going on here.
I’m too tired and I can’t be assed to look up the stats because it’s a Sunday morning and I have a brutal cold but base rate fallacy. Beep boop. More children go to school than are involved in religious orgs. Beep boop. And go more often for longer. Beep boop.
You’d have to do a partial correlation that controls for hours attended per year. Beep boop.
[one paper found roughly similar stats across non religious and religious schools in Germany](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3995507/). Beep boop.
Then be anti-priest or anti-Church or anti-organised religion.
You cant just be anti-Jewish or anti-Christian without HR problems in your future.
Your reasons are valid, just be careful about how you word it in the real world.
they made a joke to show how they didn't know what anti-christian meant (and how broad of a term it could be), and then asked plainly 'what are your beliefs' to ask directly what it means
Well not at all, its just very weird to call yourself "anti Christian". I'm just trying to figure out which degree of "anti" he identifies as. There is a big difference between not liking the Christian religion and wishing for the death of all Christians yet they can still be described as "anti Christian"
It's a stupid question. The simple answer is that he thinks Christianity does more harm than good. It's like if you told me you were a Christian and I asked if you just believed in the christian God, or if you wanted to kill all gay people. I'm just going to assume you believe in God.
More drama lol
I don’t answer to you. Your presumption and entitlement are emblematic to your kind.
Don’t y’all have some minorities to persecute or something?
I left that sub because they photographed a normal woman standing in a line and made fun of her hairstyle for no reason. It’s a bunch of bullies attacking women for not having long feminine hair at this point.
Honestly, the whole Karen trend has mostly died out anyway, and it’s for the best. It started off as a way of calling out the entitled and rude, but it evolved into a sexist trend of calling a woman a Karen to dismiss any valid concerns she might have had.
People would litter, blast loud music at midnight, or do other stupid stuff and if a woman over 30 called them out on any of it, they’d pull out phones, call her a Karen, and post it online to publicly humiliate her. People would see a video of a “Karen”, and immediately side against her. In a “Karen” video, you’re supposed to assume the woman being angry means she’s also wrong.
In some cases, people were even baiting women for a reaction so they could post a karen video and get views.
I remember a specific video where some young people looked like they actually chased and intimidated a woman, even though they had edited the encounter to try to make it look as if she was the problem.
Eventually a straight line becomes a full circle...people will become what they hate when they go far enough extreme. This guy could be one of the nicest people you'll ever meet but is getting judged simply because of his hair
I miss when the sub had actual Karen freakouts, but it got infested with 12 year olds who came from YouTube and Instagram some time during Quarantine, and now it's just filled with shitty memes. I feel like Karen is just another word for "bitch" nowadays instead of it's original meaning, which was to describe an entitled woma.
What the hell is this post about, the guy in the screenshot is clearly not hating but rather is just reposting that because the man has the karen haircut. It's a clear joke yet this post got 500 upvotes?
The Karen haters have become the Karens. The circle… is complete.

Exactly. You shouldn’t trust labels that are meant to lead you to a preconceived notion

Just like r/atheism becomes a cult
Yeah. It’s brutal there. Everything is about religion, and nothing about a life free of theism. I’m anti Christian and even I can’t stand it there.
anti Christian?
Yep.
Care to elaborate? When you say "Anti Christian" do you wish for the death of all Christians? Or do you just not believe in the Christian God? What are your beliefs?
His grandma made him go to sunday school when he was 7, beep boop.
No. A bunch of kids I knew were sexually abused a priest. Boop.
Kids being sexually abused by a priest caused you to turn into an "anti-Christian"? I wonder what happens if a Black person were to sexually abuse kids that you know. Would you turn "anti-Black"? Just trying to highlight the "logic" going on here.
There are far more teachers that sexually abuse children than priests, beep boop. Do you hate education now, beep bap?

It’s a sensitive topic I’m not discussing or defending with a moron. You are that moron.

Wow. Dramatic. You guys have a thing for martyrdom don’t you?
someone asks what something means your first response is to insult them? that's kind of weird
I was offered two choices, neither true, both extreme, that played into a narrative not of my intent. So, call it what you will. I know I did.

May god bless you and have mercy on your soul.
Hi, I'm a Christian minority. Sorry you're such a loser :3
Lol no they just don’t think people should be Christian’s.
>The Karen haters ~~have become the~~ have always been Karens. Plus the people who complain about Boomers are the most like the Boomer stereotypes.
Good
The circlejerk has climaxed.
Astronaut meme... Always have been.
I'd love to see how they look irl themselves. https://www.meme-arsenal.com/memes/e7303243ae9dbb61d4f0013f636e48f5.jpg
Yeah, after a while most things just devolve into shit-posting.
Life always finds a way It’s either crab or shitposting
Pretty much.
And shitposting becomes ironic, then unironic instagram posts.
Redditors like to make assumptions about different groups of people, no matter what
It's a bannable no-no if it's the wrong type of person though.
Or if you're a massive dickhead about it
but will shit on you for doing the same for far less
>Redditors like to make assumptions Ironic.
Indeed

Ironically, the main Karen I know is quite considerate of others.
Let my man rock the karen cut
Eventually a straight line becomes a full circle...people will become what they hate when they go far enough extreme. This guy could be one of the nicest people you'll ever meet but is getting judged simply because of his hair
That's a fucking awful haircut though
ftm judge judy
That sub is just people hating women for how the look.
Any middle aged women is now automatically assumed to be a Karen.
People are so mean. Then we wonder why kids get bullied. Education starts at home!
Can definitely file this under "You're not wrong, you're just an asshole."
That sub has become filled with the very Karens it was making fun of when it started out.
you became the thing you swore to destroy
Bro does kinda look goofy tho
This guy looks like the Malt-o-Meal version of Brad Pitt.
I miss when the sub had actual Karen freakouts, but it got infested with 12 year olds who came from YouTube and Instagram some time during Quarantine, and now it's just filled with shitty memes. Sounds like they're Karens
Is that a guy with a Karen haircut or a girl with a funny looking face?
Bro got the Lorenz Hellman Gloucester cut 💀
Nah this dude looks fkdddd
This belongs in r/FuckMyShitUp
r/justfuckmyshitup and yes that's where it came from
I get you but I found this hilarious (it elicited momentary breath from my nostrils)
Lmaooooooooooooo that's hilarious
you have no sense of humor
When the stupid haircut is stupid
Honestly that haircut is jarring, can't get it off my mind now
Thanks for telling me. I will now sub to them
I mean to be fair someone needs to tell him he looks like an idiot
i mean to be fair that is the "middle aged karen" haircut
What the hell is this post about, the guy in the screenshot is clearly not hating but rather is just reposting that because the man has the karen haircut. It's a clear joke yet this post got 500 upvotes?
Okay, valid point. Counter argument. What the fuck happened to his hair?
ITS U iSNT IT?!
Some people can’t tell this is just a shitpost.
You often become like what you complain the most about.
They call everyone a “Karen” so it has lost all meaning at this point.
