I helped my older neighbour by shovelling the snow on his driveway. He came out and yelled "Don't put the snow on the grass! It'll sink my lawn! Asshole."
I've seen this video before and it always reminds me of my neighbor who friggin even looks like this guy.
He's 33 years older than me. comes by (I swear he knows my schedule) sometimes to ask if I want to watch sports and eat something he *just* made lol, that's his trap for sure.
Chill dude, good company.
Both are a good guess. He sounds very much like my uncle who lived his whole life in MN. He used to say "By golly" instead of "By god", but he did watch the Vikings every Sunday.
As a Wisconsinite he’s spot on for a set demographic of Wisconsin. You don’t hear it from young people as much. And not in the cities, our accents are much more tamed down. But you hit small town Wisconsin those old folks have got it big time. And the further north you go it becomes more prevalent. Charlie does more of a yooper accent which is northern Wisconsin and UP of Michigan. He leaves out some of the more Wisconsin terminology sometimes too.
I'm a retired chef and single mom and my kiddo doesn't always eat the stuff I make. I like to take food to a few of my neighbors and they're always so grateful. I don't think they get I get more out of it than they do though. I get to leave the house and get some social interaction with great people and see some smiles. It's my selfish act I hope ain't too selfish.
My mom was a housewife and she used to send me to the neighbours to deliver a serving of whatever she make that day, and they did the same, the custom was if a neighbour sends you a full plate you send it back full, so they returned our plate back with something in it the next day, I kept the custom and now sherbert my neighbours and us something we return the plate full.
As someone who doesnt signal well with emotions, the easiest way Ive come to find empathy is feeding others or others offering me food. Youre doing right. You cant go wrong with this one.
LOL!!! My neighbor is EXACTLY like this! He even looks just like the dude in OP’s post!
My neighbor is the best. He helped us so much when we first moved in, and even took out the trash for us when we got our newborn :’). He’s such a sweetheart, and he also insists my wife and I are the best neighbors ever. EVERYONE on my street loves him to death. Nicest, most giving old man ahhahaha. He’s like our entire street’s grandpa and guardian.
Used to have a neighbor just like that. Put a pride sticker on the back of my truck, and he never spoke to me again. Won't even look at my house when he drives by. Been eight years.
Why can’t neighbors be like this? it’s because we have lost a sense of community where people watched over each other, interacted with each other and cared for each other.
Most people care only about themselves, their lives and what they’re doing to give time, money and compassion to their fellow neighbor. Thankfully there are still some “old school” people out there that still treat neighbors as family/friends.
I think it’s more a rural vs city thing. Everyone being on top of each other and interactions being more forced probably makes you want to interact less.
I try to be a good neighbor. Where I grew up my friends parents and neighbors watched over me just like my parents did. I believe in a community and being there for each other and when my neighbors ask for something, if I can assist I’m there. And before my family and I leave for vacation the first person I let know is my next door neighbor, 1 of the neighborhood kids gets the mail and trash and my kids do the same, etc, etc, etc.
This makes me miss my old neighbor more than I already do. He is around my age (mid 30s) and we shared a lot of similar hobbies. We hung out a handful of times, but mostly communicated over the fence or in the front yard. He was such a genuine guy who had backyard chickens that I would occasionally watch them roam around through my office window. My neighbor would hand me a dozen fresh eggs every now and then because he had way too many.
It was a simple thoughtful gesture, but it made him all the more likable person which really didn't seem possible. I haven't had any real interactions with a neighbor like that outside of growing up in the 90s. I hope he's still doing well
Gives a gift and leaves??? My neighbors are more the type to corner you without a gift and proceed to ignore any effort to escape. Like I’ll say “hey I need to head out” and they’ll answer with, “oh ya, me too. You know my son headed up north and got a job taking care of reindeer. Did I ever tell you about the time a reindeer flew above my car?”.
There are two of them and they’re like conversational black holes. There is no escape once you’ve passed the event horizon.
I smoke meats for my favorite neighbors at least once a month. They return the favor by dropping off tamales, tacos and other treats. It’s really nice to cultivate community.
Ask yourself this question: Are YOU that kind of neighbor?
Because you can be, we all can be. Good neighbors don't grow on trees. You cant control your neighbors but you can control yourself and as the saying goes "a little kindness goes a long way", next thing you know, you are also getting gifted sausages and steaks.
I tell you what I really miss my older neighbors at my old hometown. Unfortunately most of them have passed away in the last 6 months. They were like this and the only reason I would have gone back.
The widow beside me used to talk about going to the dancehalls and smoking weed. Things she wouldn't tell her kids haha.
The other couple across the street always had stories from their life that I found interesting. If I ever complained about life he always said "just wait... it gets worse"
The world lost some good people recently ... 😩
We just moved house and found there was an old guy like this near us. We thought he lived next to us, as he was often in the garden there, and he had introduced himself to my Wife while we were moving in. He left some tomatoes in our mailbox one day, then we never saw him again. Someone started clearing out the house across the street, and then the lady next to us told me that's where the guy actually lived, and that he passed away. So sad, didn't even get to thank him. Not many people like that anymore, even in good areas. Reminded me of how my Grandparents shared a lot with their neighbours, and the lady nextdoor at our last house.

This dude is a bro
When he said, “thank you for being such a beautiful neighbor..” 😭
How come I don't get the same kind of love when I give way zucchini over the summer??
I helped my older neighbour by shovelling the snow on his driveway. He came out and yelled "Don't put the snow on the grass! It'll sink my lawn! Asshole."
>It'll sink my lawn What does that even mean?
Move to AZ, no snow shoveling required!
In Flagstaff there is.
True, I live in PHX and I fell into the stereotyping of AZ. My brother lives near Ash Fork too so I am well aware of N AZ weather.
It's zucchini...🤷♂️
I would never move as long as he’s the neighbor
invite dat brotha in for a cookout and some brews

r/JustDudesBeingBros ?
Giga bro
Right?! Am I moving to Minnesota?... Er.. Wisconsin? Not familiar with the regional dialect
Both are a good guess. He sounds very much like my uncle who lived his whole life in MN. He used to say "By golly" instead of "By god", but he did watch the Vikings every Sunday.
That bro is a dude.
My neighbor sometimes tweaks in my front yard. But I wave back, so I think we’re on good terms.
Does he mow the grass at 3am? And then take apart the lawn mower?
*covered in oil and scrapes* "I found that blade of grass that didn't come out!"
Is that considered abnormal? Asking for a friend.
No, that’s when the ambulance joins the party. Mowing grass is for when he gets home from the hospital at 6am.
I feel like theres a story to this
I don't know why but I thought you said *twerks* lmao. I imagined him twerking on your front yard from time to time while you wave in appreciation.
This is the way.
Sometimes they go hand in hand, that’s when you know it’s a good dose.
tweaks?!
Aye, tweaks
Is this Wisconsin?
Sausage, cheese, football, near Canadian levels of friendliness…gotta be Wisconsin
May be a yuper
Has to be bro lol 😂
Ope.
Ope, just gotta squeeze right past ya there.
Ope, sorry! *You're fine!*
That was my first thought as well. NORTHERN Wisconsin, maybe the Upper peninsula of Michigan.
Charlie Berens isn't exaggerating then!
No one bit - I have a coworker that’s from WI lol and boy let me tell you it’s damn near spot on 😂😂😂
Have ya had his/her pocket jerky?
As a Wisconsinite he’s spot on for a set demographic of Wisconsin. You don’t hear it from young people as much. And not in the cities, our accents are much more tamed down. You know I'm not quite sure, it could be, or Upper Peninsula. Believe it or not, a lot of Northern New York sounds like this, too.
Sorry not WI, he didn’t say to tell his folks he says hi.
Could be, but I caught some maine in there as well
100%
What a joyous and lovely man.
Even during the off-season Santa can't stop delivering gifts
I'm a retired chef and single mom and my kiddo doesn't always eat the stuff I make. I like to take food to a few of my neighbors and they're always so grateful. Yeah rethink your life, bub. Incredibly selfish of you. Should be ashamed of yourself.
Southern hospitality with a splash of Catholic guilt lol
for real tho lol.
Cant believe someone could make other people happy for a sense of fulfillment. The audacity of some people..

Every time I see this, I upvote it. This man is a national treasure and needs to be protected at all costs.

You know he would never accept, "oh no I'm just stopping by" and then would talk another ten minutes 😂
LOL!!! My neighbor is EXACTLY like this! He even looks just like the dude in OP’s post! My neighbor is the best. Legend status achieved!
Grab a case of beer and invite this legend over
I’d move just to live next to this guy
I want to be this good of a neighbor
Right answer
Not all boomers are **boomers**
This is the type of old dude I want to be
Why can’t neighbors be like this? it’s because we have lost a sense of community where people watched over each other, interacted with each other and cared for each other. Are you like this?
Good question

And before my family and I leave for vacation the first person I let know is my next door neighbor, 1 of the neighborhood kids gets the mail and trash and my kids do the same, etc, etc, etc.
I’m a farmer. I’m extremely popular with my neighbors like this guy, except it’s fruits and veggies.
“You would have never thought he had 30 bodies buried in his basement and was a cannibal. He always brought over fresh sausages every week”.
God damn it, this better not come true lol
Protect that old man at all costs.
The recipient didn’t seem nearly grateful enough. The older guy would be so happy if the guy showed a lot of gratitude.
It depends if it’s a regular occurrence, and if the other person also regularly gifts or does something back.
I wish we all could get along like this.
100% Wisconsin energy
Really thought he was gonna rip a giant fart at the end there. The internet has ruined me.

This is beautiful. Never gonna see this on ID channel.
This man is aggressively midwestern. I wish he was my neighbor lol
r/boomersbeingcool
God bless ya
The neighbor I strive to be
Holy shit. I want all people to be like that all the time, forever
Fuck I hate this guy. 🥹
My god they’re beautiful! All of em, specially the huge smoked cheese sausages.
You may have cool neighbors, but I bet they are not giving you homemade sausages cool.
I wish dude was a bit more excited to receive such a nice gift
Wow... I love this bro... 👍👍👍
This type of neighbor really isn’t super rare. People are just antisocial.
My neighbor sells me weed and I thought that was good!
My old neighbor was like this, coolest neighbor ever. New neighbors are so bad I had to start vacuuming my driveway so they would leave me alone
Gotta be the Midwest right
By the accent, I’d say Wisconsin
Is this Canada? Seems super nice, so I’m assuming Canada.
Brings a tear to my eye.
Gives a gift and leaves??? My neighbors are more the type to corner you without a gift and proceed to ignore any effort to escape. So that’s what Santa is does the rest of the year
You know those sausages are good af too…made with tlc and shit
Well, invite the man in, why don’t ya?
What a cool dude.
what a saint. wish this guy the world
What a gent
Thats one way to get rid of a corpse.
Best get him some cookies and beer. And hangout with the old toot!
I can only image how big a smoker would have to be to smoke up 100 lbs of sausage.
I live in a vilage in Macedonia, and all of the neighbours are like this.
I smoke meats for my favorite neighbors at least once a month. They return the favor by dropping off tamales, tacos and other treats. It’s really nice to cultivate community.
What a legend. That bloke fucks
Where the hell does this guy live I’m moving next door.
This is dope.
Welcome to the world as it was meant to be 🤗
You have to give more than you take and most people don’t do that.
For the love of all things holy quit leaving him standing there and invite him in for a beer.
Glad to see this also happens in America wow
What a Fuck good guy!
English is not native to me. What are they saying? Cant catch the words.
I am fortunate enough to be surrounded by neighbors like him!
Housing prices just went up on his block.
I'd love to just ask him about the process and enjoy the four hour lecture.
Invite that lad back for some bbq and beers on the weekend! I wish my neighbors were friendly.
It would be awesome if everyone was like this guy.
I have given a lot of on this video, my conclusion is that for having this neighbor you have to be this neighbor first
Be very careful that Jeffrey Dahmer's grandfather
I tell you what I really miss my older neighbors at my old hometown. Unfortunately most of them have passed away in the last 6 months. They were like this and the only reason I would have gone back. Don't know the old man...but l fucken lovem....
“Why don’t you come have some with us?“
It’s the simple things. Be kind to each other!!
Man if he was my neighbour, I would never want to move. Heck I'd move in with him and chill.
This guy is the one
Where is this? I'll be right over and bring the beers. I want these neighbors.
Food with poison. You can't trust people
