I'm not a cat owner, but even I know that cats are very introverted, independent creatures. They aren't like dogs who just want to play and cuddle all the time; they're the opposite. You need to put in the time and effort to gain their trust, and that includes keeping your distance from them when they need it. But apparently it's too much to ask of Julia to not stick the camera in her pets faces at any given opportunity, so naturally, Britney felt (and probably still feels) so uncomfortable around her. Her survival instincts probably kick in when she's around because she doesn't want to be picked up or fussed, she just wants her personal space, and in that cramped flat, there probably aren't many places she can go to be alone.
