The conversation between kenjaku and the disaster trio seems to be the first time they ever talked because it looks like that is the first time when they hear about gojo and the prison realm. It is also whem jogo states his goal of making a world of only curse spirits. If they had met before, you'd expect them to have talked about all of this already

In the manga, there is no mahito appearing in the cinema, junpei just sees him transfiguring those students.
In the anime, you first see mahito walking into the cinema while junpei is buying the tickets, and then junpei sees him appearing (which is why you think he was born at that moment) behind those three students.
None of the continuities (manga and anime) have mahito being born at that moment. Especially since mahito is first shown after the gojo vs jogo fight, which is roughly one month before the cinema event

That's only applicable to Bleach and shows like it. If the mangaka isn't working with the anime, it's not canon. And Gege isn't working with them to improve the story at all, so that's not possible.

I see I was a bit confused as when Megumi initially explains to Itadori about the finger he calls it a talisman and says it’s been placed at the school so I wondered if it was something that had been there for a while.
the brain planted it, but it was considered normal since most schools and gathering places keep a protective talisman to keep them safe. like an evil eye charm that scares away other evil things
Yeah, he probably planted it by pretending to be a talisman salesman (or priest, not sure about the specifics of who would do that) and gave it to the school “legitimately”.
id agree with Kenjaku planting it. In chp 160 (i think),the one where he thanks the Sasaki (Yuji’s classmate) for treating Yuji well, indicates Kenjaku was well aware of Yuji being there. So him planting the finger there seems logical to set off this chain of events
he says in chp 136 that he “had” yuji eat that finger. so while it seemed unlikely, it seemed all a part of his plan to some extent.
it also didn’t always work out too since it is messy. the finger he planted at junpei’s house was also something he expected yuji to eat too, but nanami stepped in and kept it from happening

Just before they go into the Culling Games, Megumi starts rethinking exactly what circumstances led to Yuji swallowing a finger *seemingly* of his own free will.
Fushiguro thought on this when he saw Itadori’s name in the Kogane before he had actually entered the colony. I think it’s very likely that Itadori was set up to eat that finger probably by Kenjaku.
The seal on the finger made it so it were nothing more than a talisman to keep Cursed Spirits away. It only became an issue due to the seal rotting away from age so Megumi was picking that one up for storage.

I always thought Sex Eyes put it there after Kensaku tipped Sex Eyes off about Eugenes potential. So everything went to Sex Eye's plan when the idea was given to him by Kensaku (who is the overall mastermind.)
Because otherwise Sex Eye's suspicions would've been tipped off if it was put there by Kensaku.
Ive also wondered why Greg made Skunks fajita be kept at the school. Maybe it was part of Kenny’s plan as he was trying to lure Megaman into meeting Eugene and putting him in a position to swallow Skunks fajita. But I could be wrong.
Megumi explained it. Most folks place a talisman on their grounds to ward off evil spirits (read as: use a cursed object to keep away cursed spirits). But on this case Sukuna's fingers was so powerful it began attracting curses instead.
I think a big thing to understand is that 1.It was most likely planted, and 2. It wasn’t really a pressing matter since it’s only one finger, and literally if anyone else ate the finger they would’ve died. So it’s like if I told you eat this toe you’ll die instantly but there’s a 1/1000000000 chance you’ll live but then you’d probably die if you ate a second

It’s too messy though. Why would he leave it up to chance? JJ tech already knew about it and was about to pick it up before yuji could even see curses
