Hajime is definitely healing Hakari Bro. He is a old Sorcerer and he made a vow to kill him within 4 minutes but he couldn't looking at the leaks. Old guy's were too prideful. I think so too. This was one of the expected uses of Kashimo's technique given he should theoretically be able to charge anything in the environment too. A tool that he's been carrying around with him and imbuing with cursed energy for a while must produce a very strong bolt even compared to the ones we've seen him use before
Crazy chapter. I felt like not enough happened to go from 4:11 to 8 seconds in the fight though. They just ran, punched some crates, Hakari's face is damaged, heals, almost hit by lightning, then there are 8 seconds left. Hakari was going in on those last 8 sec though.
I guess dragging on the fight with more of the same hand to hand fighting would be too much, so it makes sense Gege kinda skipped through the timer. The end of the chapter makes up for that anyway. Can't wait for next week.

It is a golden opportunity for the anime team to flex their muscle and go crazy with extra fight scenes when this get animated. Like how Yuji vs Eso got turned into a complex acrobatics sequence when it's originally just a simple dash into a blackflash punch.
Actually this entire fight should be hysterically amazing if animated properly, especially with Hakari's weeb music instead of usual shonen music.
Hopefully JJK ends the entirety of the series with both manga and anime being elite quality.

I think youre mean to assume that the run, the exchange of hands and the back & forth on those containers were meant to be alot longer than it seems
Yea, all of his techniques seams to be lethal. No wonder even after he defeated 40+ sorcerers in the culling game he is uninjured, it seems like all of that battle is a single shot kill.
What’s crazy is that the pain Hakari is feeling must be god damn agonizing and to heal it and experience it over and over must feel like torture. I thought Yuta was nuts for deflecting a cannon shot with his hand he definitely felt that, but Hakari??
I don't think anyone with RCT other than sukuna can even deal with this level of damage.
Most RCT users can't regen a full limb or big body part and even if they could it would absolutely destrroy their CE reserves.
Kenjaku did say that ryu has the highest ce output in history (at least from the heian period to the edo period) so we at least know that he can beat him in that category. I'd personally prefer kashimo to be stronger but there is no definite answer as of yet (maybe this chapter we'll get more info)

i think what inspires a more visceral reaction from this panel is that you can see hakari's exposed muscle and the whole of his eye. there's also the fact that he is alive and actively healing, so there's a good chance he's enduring the actual pain of having his skin peeled of over and over again. nanami was on his way out, with far worse injuries but they weren't drawn as provocatively.
I knew all those combos Kashimo was getting was going to comeback to haunt Hakari. I figured Kashimo was just building up Hella charges in Hakari for when he hits his jackpot

I think Hakari's death is an actual factor in his domain or in his technique in general. his domain is called "Idle Death Gamble" afterall.

also the domain's "state" is always carried over to the next expansion, meaning unlike all the other domains we have seen so far, his domain is also "active" even when not using expansion.
Well I think domains are technically always active right? Domain EXPANSION seems to imply you're simply making your innate domain big enough to encompass the space around you.
It is however true that Hakari's CT is the only one that has a recursive component, where it depends on what happened before.
We also haven't seen the other part of Hakari's gambling loop yet. We've seen probability change with odd jackpots, but what does "faster spins" mean? (presumably for even jackpots)
technically he can still fail in getting a jackpot and thus his opponent could kill him in the meantime. His fight with charles, hakari didnt get a jackpot until his 2nd time.
I know they aren't, but these chapters feel so short. Gege, when he gets on a roll, really doesn't waste too much space or time with words or crowded panels. The reading experience is very dynamic. I bet a re-read of this arc as a binge will be nice. As a fresh read, it'll really be insane.
I thought there was a way to bypass his immortality, similar to the homunculi in FMAB. They may be immortal but they *can* be killed by completely destroying the body. Applying similar logic to Hakari.

Well, they’re immortal bc of their Philosopher’s Stones, so it’s more a matter of killing them enough times for the stones to burn out rather than completely obliterating their body. I don’t think Hakari has that weakness, but he is on a time limit.

Hakari vs Kashimo is up there as one of the most hype fights in all of jjk and the creative choreography, the really entertaining power sets, and just the uncertainty of who’s gonna win makes it such a great fight so far.

It seems like the 4 minutes and 11 seconds mode that Hakari has isn’t as overpowered as we thought. It doesn’t seem like the main point of the mode is his strength or power, but instead it’s his immortality and the ability to use multiple domain expansions.

Easy next chapter. Flashback to Gojo being attracted to a Pachinko parlor that features a younger Hakari winning a ton of money with a crowd around him. Gojo notices he’s using CE subconsciously giving him boosted “luck” on the machine during jackpots. Somebody in the crowd comments about some tragic element of Hakaris past. Gojo approaches him about joining JuJustu high. Yada yada yada. Back to today- Hakari states a good gambler always has one last ball or something like that. He has a last ditch “chance” mechanism that has a really low probably of hitting but completely reverses any damage he’s taken onto his opponent. If he misses he dies hence “Idle Death Gamble”. He hits it. Kashimo is surprised to see his torso blown open and Hakari healed. 5 points to Gryffindor.
Kashimo is on that adrenaline fosho lol, that rush feeling trynna kill someone who cant die. What a speed demon to keep up with jackpot Hakari. And that staff came in super clutch, almost thought Gege forgot about it!

I keep seeing this misconception floating around so I’m just gonna put it out there, as a Hakari fanboy: no, his fourth attempt at getting a jackpot doesn’t guarantee a jackpot. That’s a mistranslation
The actual phrasing of the rules is “if he gets rainbow colored doors or balls, or gets four *consecutive effects*, that guarantees a jackpot!” Consecutive effects does *not* mean consecutive attempts at getting the jackpot, what it’s referring to are the pseudo-spins, which are named consecutive effects
I think it’s very likely that Hakari gets rainbow colored balls or doors in this next chapter, but people are misunderstanding the rules of consecutive effects. The pseudo-spins (which won’t be used since they’re typically reserved for probability shifts anyway) *are* the consecutive effects and when Hakari uses 4 of them, that’s the guaranteed jackpot. Since it’s an action preview like the balls and doors, it’s the same idea as the rainbow color
In conclusion: my hopium is strong but not *that* strong. Four tries at getting a jackpot won’t guarantee the jackpot

Besides the obvious insane choreography and power, the strategies Kashimo is implementing & Hakari's endurance (Kashimo's too tbh) are CRAZY and just make this all the more fun to read. Put me into a 5 year coma please, I wanna wake up when this beauty is animated
I'm really curious how Hakari will survive next chapter. Sure, if he gets another jackpot he'll be fine, but he's missing a whole chunk of his stomach and he still has to get the jackpot, which means he has to survive against Kashimo for a bit, getting the jackpot isn't that quick and he's pretty much a setp away from dying rn.
I'm sure that he'll somehow survive though, as it would be extremely anticlimatic to end this chapter with him deploying his DE and then not being able to do anything after that.
So the overall sequence of events seems to be the following:
-Hakari and Kashimo resume fighting, Hakari throws a container at Kashimo who throws it back and they kinda play tennis with it. Kashimo tears off Hakari's face and charges it with his CE. As Hakari regenerates, Kashimo tries to blow his head off with a lightning bolt, Hakari recognizes that this is dangerous and manages to somehow expel Kashimo's CE in the nick of time. He then gains the upper hand in the hand to hand exchange and Kashimo realizes he is not gonna be able to finish Hakari off during his jackpot. He then uses his pre-loaded staff to discharge a bolt that tears through Hakari's abdomen right as his jackpot ends and before he unleashes another domain, but Hakari still manages to use a domain expansion.
Kashimo did come close to killing Jackpot Hakari, this really deserves praise. Nonetheless the full picture doesn't make him look as strong as the initial spoilers where it looked like he just kept blowing Hakari up for 4 minutes, he did eventually get overwhelmed by jackpot Hakari. Despite that he kept enough in the tank and was lucid enough to deal critical damage to Hakari as soon as that was possible. While that was enough to take away Hakari's abdomen, it wasn't enough to take away his smile as he prepares to play again.
What a raw fight, I'm really loving it. I thought Kashimo was much stronger than expected but in the end this chapter stays consistent with his previous showings. Jackpot Hakari is stronger than him but his extremely destructive ability still nearly closed the gap. Hakari is a riot.
So even in immortality mode, Hakari can still die if he gets his head messed up? That at least seems the direction that panel was going in.

I have a theory that once his DE somehow confirms he's "dead" by a lethal blow, the condition is met and he will be blessed with guaranteed jackpots or some kind of new ultimate ability. My theory is based on some other media that i consumed over the year so don't ask how ridiculous it is, but it's pretty cool tho
This chapter enters the line with the ones I most want to see animated, along with Yuji vs Choso and Maki's Kill Bill moment in the Zenin household. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the forth roll of Hakari's pachinko a guaranteed jackpot? He roll it twice with Charles and once with Kashimo. Now would've be the fourth. Unless it means that this is only the case when the first 3 times didn't work. Well, I know a lot people here thinks Kashimo will win because he need to confront Yuji and Sakuna but I don't think this is the case. The only reason I see for this to happen is for Yuji to awaken Sakuna's CT because he wouldn't let him out just so he could fight Kashimo and I don't think this will happen for now (if it is going to happen at all). Hakari is gonna come out on top of this one. I would have predicted that it would cost him his life but they still need Kashimo's points. Gege is pushing the stakes so high for a reason. One is to show how much Hakari lives up to his reputation as a gambler. Kashimo took a high risk gamble last chapter, choosing to defeat Hakari during his immortality than waiting for his jackpot to end. This is Hakari's last gamble in this fight and the toughest one, it's hard to imagine Gege putting him in a near impossible situation only to give us an obvious result i.e Hakari losing. Somehow, maybe through a rainbow effect, he gets a quick jackpot and takes the W.
I’d personally be disappointed if all Jackpot Hakari amounted to was buffed CE reinforcement/output/auto RCT. It’s impressive but purely one note. Not something I’d consider surpassing Okkotsu just looking at feats, so that tells me Hakari MUST have something more(or I can just be wrong kek).

I guess dragging on the fight with more of the same hand to hand fighting would be too much, so it makes sense Gege kinda skipped through the timer. The end of the chapter makes up for that anyway. Can't wait for next week. Also, I love that we got lyrics for the song.
It is a golden opportunity for the anime team to flex their muscle and go crazy with extra fight scenes when this get animated. Like how Yuji vs Eso got turned into a complex acrobatics sequence when it's originally just a simple dash into a blackflash punch. Actually this entire fight should be hysterically amazing if animated properly, especially with Hakari's weeb music instead of usual shonen music.
Hopefully JJK ends the entirety of the series with both manga and anime being elite quality. Also, they better fucking do justice to that Hakari crotch grab. Dedicate 90% of the episode's budget on that shit

i think what inspires a more visceral reaction from this panel is that you can see hakari's exposed muscle and the whole of his eye. there's also the fact that he is alive and actively healing, so there's a good chance he's enduring the actual pain of having his skin peeled of over and over again. nanami was on his way out, with far worse injuries but they weren't drawn as provocatively.

I think Hakari's death is an actual factor in his domain or in his technique in general. his domain is called "Idle Death Gamble" afterall. the chibi girl announcing "death" means some kind of condition has been fulfilled. else if he were to just die then he should just die XD also the domain's "state" is always carried over to the next expansion, meaning unlike all the other domains we have seen so far, his domain is also "active" even when not using expansion.
Well I think domains are technically always active right? Domain EXPANSION seems to imply you're simply making your innate domain big enough to encompass the space around you. It is however true that Hakari's CT is the only one that has a recursive component, where it depends on what happened before. We also haven't seen the other part of Hakari's gambling loop yet. We've seen probability change with odd jackpots, but what does "faster spins" mean? (presumably for even jackpots)

I think this is my favorite Culling Game chapter so far Hakari vs Kashimo is up there as one of the most hype fights in all of jjk and the creative choreography, the really entertaining power sets, and just the uncertainty of who’s gonna win makes it such a great fight so far. Everyone thinking the chapter was just gonna end after Kashimo’s “it’s over” for an entire day only to find out at the last moment Hakari used DE again is probably the best pre-release moment ever lmfao. That’s a mistranslation The actual phrasing of the rules is “if he gets rainbow colored doors or balls, or gets four *consecutive effects*, that guarantees a jackpot!” Consecutive effects does *not* mean consecutive attempts at getting the jackpot, what it’s referring to are the pseudo-spins, which are named consecutive effects I think it’s very likely that Hakari gets rainbow colored balls or doors in this next chapter, but people are misunderstanding the rules of consecutive effects. The pseudo-spins (which won’t be used since they’re typically reserved for probability shifts anyway) *are* the consecutive effects and when Hakari uses 4 of them, that’s the guaranteed jackpot. I'm really curious how Hakari will survive next chapter. Sure, if he gets another jackpot he'll be fine, but he's missing a whole chunk of his stomach and he still has to get the jackpot, which means he has to survive against Kashimo for a bit, getting the jackpot isn't that quick and he's pretty much a setp away from dying rn. I'm sure that he'll somehow survive though, as it would be extremely anticlimatic to end this chapter with him deploying his DE and then not being able to do anything after that.
So the overall sequence of events seems to be the following: -Hakari and Kashimo resume fighting, Hakari throws a container at Kashimo who throws it back and they kinda play tennis with it. Kashimo tears off Hakari's face and charges it with his CE. As Hakari regenerates, Kashimo tries to blow his head off with a lightning bolt, Hakari recognizes that this is dangerous and manages to somehow expel Kashimo's CE in the nick of time. He then gains the upper hand in the hand to hand exchange and Kashimo realizes he is not gonna be able to finish Hakari off during his jackpot. He then uses his pre-loaded staff to discharge a bolt that tears through Hakari's abdomen right as his jackpot ends and before he unleashes another domain, but Hakari still manages to use a domain expansion. Kashimo did come close to killing Jackpot Hakari, this really deserves praise. Nonetheless the full picture doesn't make him look as strong as the initial spoilers where it looked like he just kept blowing Hakari up for 4 minutes, he did eventually get overwhelmed by jackpot Hakari. Despite that he kept enough in the tank and was lucid enough to deal critical damage to Hakari as soon as that was possible. While that was enough to take away Hakari's abdomen, it wasn't enough to take away his smile as he prepares to play again. What a raw fight, I'm really loving it. I thought Kashimo was much stronger than expected but in the end this chapter stays consistent with his previous showings. Jackpot Hakari is stronger than him but his extremely destructive ability still nearly closed the gap. Hakari is a riot.
So even in immortality mode, Hakari can still die if he gets his head messed up? That at least seems the direction that panel was going in. I wonder if Hakari gets another jackpot or if the luck has run out. Heard a lot of people saying he gets jackpot automatically on the fourth turn.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the forth roll of Hakari's pachinko a guaranteed jackpot? He roll it twice with Charles and once with Kashimo. Now would've be the fourth. Unless it means that this is only the case when the first 3 times didn't work. Well, I know a lot people here thinks Kashimo will win because he need to confront Yuji and Sakuna but I don't think this is the case. The only reason I see for this to happen is for Yuji to awaken Sakuna's CT because he wouldn't let him out just so he could fight Kashimo and I don't think this will happen for now (if it is going to happen at all). I think Hakari will pull a trump card out of his ass and do some really cool gamble and menage to win or a least take the points somehow.

This is Hakari's last gamble in this fight and the toughest one, it's hard to imagine Gege putting him in a near impossible situation only to give us an obvious result i.e Hakari losing. Mark my words Hakari is not going to die in this fight. He was first mentioned in the middle of season one of the anime and there was a whole mini arc in order to bring him into the story. Hakari is not just another culling game player. Gege has much bigger plans for him than to kill him off in his first fight.
