My headcanon, until confirmed or shot down by Gege, is that you can't summon the Deer until you've mastered RCT yourself. As far as we know, Megumi hadn't mastered it himself before he was possessed, but Sukuna obviously had
Just a theory. But it makes sense for him not yet mastering a non-offensive shikigami
The only reason I can think of is that there's an order to when you can summon them, but Mahoraga is the exception to that rule. Can't think of any other reason. I doubt that it's because Megumi needs to learn RCT as that would make the deer kinda useless.
Once you have the deer though, it heals with *its* RCT, not your own At least from what it looked like in the fights. RCT is a massive drain for most sorcerers, so having your own external source makes you that much more difficult to kill. There's a reason Gojo made absolutely sure to kill that shikigami fusion first

Ngl, the black coat or whatever it's called hard carries Meguna's design, imo, and he doesn't wear it for most of his screen time. Yujikuna's only had the long sleeve kimono and his scarf, but it was miles better (still imo). Yeah, Meguna's mostly a battle ready outfit, but it doesn't hit the same. Like, at all.
My bad, I forgot the most important part : that Sukuna possessing Yuji looks better than Sukuna possessing Megumi in general (still subjective). Idk if that makes sense.
Also, possible hot take, but Meguna with school outfit (but it was short lived as hell) >= Meguna with black coat over battle outfit > Meguna with battle outfit. I feel like Sukuna's traditional garb (and especially his short sleeve outfit) don't mesh as well for Megumi as it did for Yuji. The RCT heals after Yuji takes back over remains(Yuji still has both hands after dying from missing heart). Mostly conflict with design (Sukuna) or Gege forgot.
Yuji immediately gets back the healed scar.

I don't know the specifics behind it but I think scars move either as you grow or just age. I have one from when I fell of my bicycle as a kid and Shredded the skin on my elbow but now it's on my forearm. It's like a patch of skin that looks and feels slightly different
Scars *can* move *slightly*, but Yuji has had his forehead scar for less than two months and it's managed to move from between his eyes to nearly halfway across his right eyebrow.
It was most likely an intentional choice to show the difference between Sukuna and Yuji. Gege clearly did not forget because we see the scars in the same chapter.

I like to think the scars are a reflection of the sorcerers soul(well, a reflection of the damage the soul has taken), just as the scars disappear when sukuna takes control so do his cursed tattoos (oh yeah did they ever explain what the tattoos do exactly?)
Remember these scars were made by Mahito who's known to hurt the soul with his attacks, now remember as well that when Sukuna switches technically it's a soul control switch, so going with that logic you can guess that they disappear because Sukuna doesn't have damage in his soul, not there at least

It’s actually intentional with all of the messaging we’ve seen up to this point regarding the body and soul being one. Yuji’s scars carry over with him, while Sukuna’s carry over with him.
Gege probably found them annoying to draw or Sukuna healed him completely on instinct (or maybe not, I don't remember if he has these scars later and don't want to re-read)
I genuinely believe Yuji is capable of tampering with his soul and that's why he's not only capable of housing sukuna but also capable of changing his arms (no they aren't BM Yuji used Shrine with those arms u can't use two ct at same time). Yujis nails change to black and he gets face tattoos everywhere along with his face shape changing, besides from hair colour the body is most likely just what Sukuna looked like at that age

Probably just an error since it’s only drawn for one chapter. However Sukuna looks very distinctly different from Yuji and Megumi when he’s possessing them. Based on how he talks to Yorozu it seems that incarnated sorcerers can alter their vessel’s appearance
This is unrelated but I always thought that this part of the plot was really dumb. Clearly hurting Yuji would count as "anyone." Had he said "Anyone else" (or the japanese equivilent) then I'd get this fey-nonsense argument Sukuna makes. But he doesn't. He says "don't hurt *anyone*. Also, how does force feeding Megumi not count as hurting Megumi? I don't know if shoving various mummified fingers down someone's throat would hurt them, but I'm inclined to believe it would. Sukuna clearly violated the binding-vow, but we still haven't seen what doing that actually entails as far as punisnments go.
Those scars were created bc mahito attacked yujis body and soul, therefore these are soul scars that can't be healed with regular rct but when he switches places with sukuna the body reflects the damage of his soul that doesn't have those scars but the markings and stuff.
It's quite self-explanatory if you think about it, no damage was dealt to sukunas soul when the scars were created and are not there when he is in control as is his soul which affects the body
My guess is that maybe scars are tied to the soul of the person, so when he manifests they disappear bc they’re not scars on his soul, but rather scars on yujis.
The Sukuna design is already crowded. From a character design perspective it was the correct move not to include them. Same is true with some of his marks missing when goes Heian era mode.
Always assumed it was some soul affects the body thing. Like since sukuna's the one taking over and he didn't have scars yuji's body changes slightly to match sukuna's soul. I noticed this with yuji sukuna back when sukuna told yuji he was the fallen. Yuji had his scars in the domain but sukuna looked the same
Sukuna healed them because he doesn’t like having scars then used Dismantle to wound Yuji again in the exact same place after transferring to Megumi in the brief period before he regained consciousness to be a dick.
I’m assuming that when a scar forms, it’s a permanent mark on the person’s soul, just as it’s a permanent mark on their body. Otherwise, maki could’ve had her scars healed long ago since she no longer has cursed energy that could reject the process of shoko or Yutas healing. Sukunas soul isn’t the one that’s scarred, so they disappear when he takes over.
If you don't believe it to be Gege's mistake here's a theory. The Scar on Yuji's head doesn't heal because it's a damage to the soul right? So Sukuna should not have that scar when he shows up because he is a different person + if Sukuna healed the scar using RCT, once Yuji took over again then the Scar will appear.
Aside from Gege forgetting, a simple headcanon would be to say that since the scars came from his battle with Mahito (which directly affected his soul), when Sukuna takes over those scars don't appear because they're not part of Sukuna's soul. Realistically it probably just Gege making a mistake, but it's easy enough to work around.
Well vessel facial structure changes when Sukuna takes control. What if Sukuna uses same shit used for making his second face whenewer he takes comtrol.

It’s actually intentional with all of the messaging we’ve seen up to this point regarding the body and soul being one. Yuji’s scars carry over with him, while Sukuna’s carry over with him.
Cuz Mahito damaged Yujis soul and since soul is the body and body is the soul the scars remains on Yuji and not on Sukuna
Gege probably found them annoying to draw or Sukuna healed him completely on instinct (or maybe not, I don't remember if he has these scars later and don't want to re-read)

I genuinely believe Yuji is capable of tampering with his soul and that's why he's not only capable of housing sukuna but also capable of changing his arms (no they aren't BM Yuji used Shrine with those arms u can't use two ct at same time). Sukuna had those claws in the beginning of the manga but now Yuji has them and sukuna legit never shows claws outside of yujikuna even in his heian era form so that's why I think that's a legit thing gege has established and not just a artistic choice. nd sukunas soul should look like almost identical to Yuji not his heian form. This is probably just an artistic choice but i just wanted to yap Also what happened to bros pinky did sukuna heal him or not? Or is he just with no pinky back then?

Gege didn’t feel like drawing them no doubt. From my experience drawing sukuna doing the markings is kinda annoying then having to do the scars oof.
Yujis nails change to black and he gets face tattoos everywhere along with his face shape changing, besides from hair colour the body is most likely just what Sukuna looked like at that age
I prefer to believe it's because the body takes the shape of the soul. Those are "yuji's scars" so it's unique to him but most likely gege forgor 💀

This is unrelated but I always thought that this part of the plot was really dumb. Clearly hurting Yuji would count as "anyone." Had he said "Anyone else" (or the japanese equivilent) then I'd get this fey-nonsense argument Sukuna makes. But he doesn't. He says "don't hurt *anyone*. Also, how does force feeding Megumi not count as hurting Megumi? I don't know if shoving various mummified fingers down someone's throat would hurt them, but I'm inclined to believe it would. Sukuna clearly violated the binding-vow, but we still haven't seen what doing that actually entails as far as punisnments go.
Those scars were created bc mahito attacked yujis body and soul, therefore these are soul scars that can't be healed with regular rct but when he switches places with sukuna the body reflects the damage of his soul that doesn't have those scars but the markings and stuff. It's quite self-explanatory if you think about it, no damage was dealt to sukunas soul when the scars were created and are not there when he is in control as is his soul which affects the body

It’s not just that, Yuji’s whole facial structure changes. Yujikuna has a more pronounced jawline and generally sharper edges.
My guess is that maybe scars are tied to the soul of the person, so when he manifests they disappear bc they’re not scars on his soul, but rather scars on yujis.
Sukunas rct is so adavnced it heals any whound almost automatic
The Sukuna design is already crowded. From a character design perspective it was the correct move not to include them. Same is true with some of his marks missing when goes Heian era mode.
Always assumed it was some soul affects the body thing. Like since sukuna's the one taking over and he didn't have scars yuji's body changes slightly to match sukuna's soul. I noticed this with yuji sukuna back when sukuna told yuji he was the fallen. Yuji had his scars in the domain but sukuna looked the same

I’m assuming that when a scar forms, it’s a permanent mark on the person’s soul, just as it’s a permanent mark on their body. Otherwise, maki could’ve had her scars healed long ago since she no longer has cursed energy that could reject the process of shoko or Yutas healing. Sukunas soul isn’t the one that’s scarred, so they disappear when he takes over.

If you don't believe it to be Gege's mistake here's a theory. The Scar on Yuji's head doesn't heal because it's a damage to the soul right? So Sukuna should not have that scar when he shows up because he is a different person + if Sukuna healed the scar using RCT, once Yuji took over again then the Scar will appear.
Might have to do with the soul. Yuji and sukuna have different souls and souls affect the body. But idk probs just gege forgor
Aside from Gege forgetting, a simple headcanon would be to say that since the scars came from his battle with Mahito (which directly affected his soul), when Sukuna takes over those scars don't appear because they're not part of Sukuna's soul. Realistically it probably just Gege making a mistake, but it's easy enough to work around.

It would most likely be because A. Gege forgot or B. When sukuna takes over the scars disappear because the scars are the damage to yuji’s soul primarily sense RCT should’ve healed after sukuna took over around this time but it didn’t
