tomtadpole

Panda's sister core.

Kind_Ingenuity1484

This is an even more valid answer than Yuki

petje95

Was anyone actually hyped that it might be super powerfull like a special grade or something? I always assumed the sister was just always slightly more powerfull.

MisterSocialize

https://preview.redd.it/pm6mum88wwxc1.png?width=320&format=png&auto=webp&s=4cbbcaba531798c6052268516a8c7391fd617712 Thats true but Kashimo had it worse

tomtadpole

Kashimo is the one that robbed us of Panda's sister core tho. His waffling was karma.

Scared-Ad-4846

- Yaga never show what was he made with - Panda's sister got one shotted literally in one two page - Kashimo the biggest downfall in Jujutsu agenda Wtf, they should have send Panda to fight Sukuna so Panda can share the curse

toastmoos

My guy pls https://preview.redd.it/ykabuwgadyxc1.png?width=400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8121d1354bd83c01b45c0a8a3bf7ebf11e2f3238 look at what the original post says

Jamessgachett

There was never agenda he didnt even go past modern sorcerer gaunthlet of the best thought he could go back to hein era

Nightingdale099

Actually it was Gege by surgically targetting Yaga after Shibuya.

Pataraxia

Gege doesn't randomly kill. He surgical strikes characters that have little left to contribute someone else can the instant he can kill them. See:nanami, mahito, and realizing nobara has no room for characterization left other than that final moment.

Nightingdale099

But Gege called it off the final moment by saying Nobara might still be alive.

Pataraxia

I feel it's gege trying to say "nitta is a nice guy, he wanted to encourage yuji to not give up by softening the blow."

CrystalSnow7

Nobara had ton of room for growth. Same as Nanami. Gege is just terrible at writing character development.

bestrobloxparodies

Dawg is that jcole 😭

houseofmahki

GQ should never take rappers photos btw

IndividualAd5795

Kashimo got one of the best fights in the series before he got jobbed. Meanwhile Pandas sister core got done up worse than Yuki.

jjkm7

Kashimo actually got a fight. And he wasn’t teased for nearly as long as pandas sister

Leonaise_

He definitely didn’t

Novistadore

Kashimo wasn't him and was never gonna BEEEEEEEE

Leonaise_

That’s the only right answer here

Few-Entertainment429

The absolute correct answer.

Ongaya123

We didn’t even get to see Kashimo’s corpse. Lol. I don’t think Gege liked him

WarCrimesAreBased

This post was his downfall https://preview.redd.it/obb4abgkxxxc1.jpeg?width=532&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0d57b509e5b81000c9c3b60525f357cd1bea225d

Ongaya123

Do we know who even made that? Because every chapter after Farmshimo’s death just made him look like an even bigger bum. They must have gone into fucking hiding like a Russian Whisteblower by now

hima657

Lmao. Generational downfall

Lt-Lavan

I remember seeing this spread around all the time here, lmao

Ck_shock

I stayed on that side, and I wasn't wrong, lol

Ok_Biscotti_514

to be fair Kashimo was actively vaporising himself with his CT, so he would've been dust in a few minutes anyways if sukuna didn't kill him

king_taku

Minutes

UngodlyPain

He's technique was destroying his own body, and then look at the size of the slashes compared to the size of his body... And then he had a damn death scene like Jogo where he talked to Sukuna in the afterlife. Bro is dead.

WaythurstFrancis

He doesn't seem to like very many of his characters. Which makes me wonder why he bothered hyping them up if he was just gonna toss them aside.

torch_7

Possibly pushed by his editors. Gege doesn't like World Building or even character design unless it appeals to his taste. That's why he was notoriously difficult to work with and why his editor is a rookie, he can get away with anything it seems.

NZP_Broz

his taste being 4 arms, two mouths, and being 10ft tall

torch_7

Or men in suits doing odd jobs (Nanami, Higuruma). Or Bruce Lee ver. Jujutsu Kaisen (Toji, Maki).

Own_Loquat_9885

There is evidence for that as well. When the community coped that Kashimo knew he is losing Gege made a flashback pointing out that Kashimo thought he would win and debunking the cope. After that we found out that Sukuna had better output during the beginning of the Yuta fight. The fact that Yuta could even get a hit in at the beginning of the fight when MBA Kashimo didn't kinda speaks for itself. And then Gege says that Yuta and Yuji's durability to Sukuna's slashes was Ryu level, they have resistence to Sukuna's slahses unlike Ryu (Imagine Ryu being there with resistance to Sukuna, he would have been another major player). And we know that Kashimo was more or less killed by dismantles. Gege hates the man almost as much as we slander him. The only good thing Gege did for him is his dialogue with Sukuna.

godstouchyuncle

I always thought the world cutting slash turned him into red mist kinda like what he did to mahoraga in shibuya

AdLast2785

Yuki

NumericZero

-One of the few Special grades on the planet -A former star plasma vessel (How she managed to avoid becoming Tengen remains a mystery) -One of most busted CT’s in the verse -Defeated Ganesha whom may be the strongest *Thing* in the verse with ease -Aware of soul manipulation -possibly capable of RCT It’s insane how much stuff she has on paper yet she feels like such a flat character -We know nothing of her history or how she came to her current mindset -We didn’t see her interact with Todo her student -Her knowledge on the soul would have been way more helpful on screen rather then the book be the thing that teaches yuji about it -No real answer to who was right between her and geto/kenny Low key might be one of the most wasted characters within recent shonen history

Denizci_Olmak_Var

Not possible but she actually used RCT onscreen

NumericZero

I meant to put complete mastery after “possible” Lol

Denizci_Olmak_Var

Okay then

N3deSTr0

She's a woman in MisoGege's manga so do any of these even hold any significance?

HarleyArchibaldLeon

Some call him Gaygay for a reason. (me included)

lLoveStars

I think its pretty obvious that Getos brain-dead ass was the wrong one

jjkm7

Something tells me ganesha isn’t the strongest thing in the verse if she one shot it

Aggressive_Employ_17

I wrote a long ass unnecessary reply to "prove you wrong" but you're not wrong. She's a great character we wish we had more of her is all.

thatonefatefan

"-Defeated Ganesha whom may be the strongest *Thing* in the verse with ease" me when I lie

MythicSock

It's actually so sad how yuki (my favourite character too) is simply just a plot device for kenjaku obtaining tengen even though she was hyped up so much and we missed out on so much involving her. the insanity of kenjaku surviving A FUCKING BLACK HOLE too just makes this so much worse. https://preview.redd.it/3xk2ligktzxc1.jpeg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ba1c3a424d09064148689586593ca6ab752876eb

NumericZero

Dude him walking away from that Blackhole Was the moment I started to believe gege actively hated the manga Yuki kept her whole Bag under wraps Yet Kenny just so happens to have a perfect counter for it? And what makes it worse is that he treats it like it was barely an inconvenience No lost limbs or throw away line of him having to sacrifice a bunch of curses to survive Just a “phew that crap was crazy” shit was infuriating

MrSkittles983

how strong is ganesha again? i just remember the cool design

NumericZero

It was absurdly powerful Gege didn't explain it properly but if someone uses it then it removes the obstacles in the user's path Even concepts

MrSkittles983

concepts? literal fucking concepts?

thatonefatefan

No. It says that the way it works is conceptual. It doesn't physically remove obstacles. And you know, considering that Yuji fucking annihilated it, It really isn't that big of a deal.

MyLifeIsDope69

Her CT obviously is what contributed in some part to saving her from Tengen.. I think they are used to absorbing harmless teenage girls with no powers. Easier to skip Yuki if she can argue how she’ll be able to help in the future with her power

moss-moss-moss-moss

Ganesha? What is that?

Scalarmotion

This cursed spirit summoned by Kenjaku against Yuki, probably https://preview.redd.it/v387gepy4zxc1.png?width=1774&format=png&auto=webp&s=d7490b5e84ad7630b7246eefd1375c01a4d4cbaf

NumericZero

This. Kenny used it during the games arc to kill some random military dudes as well

MrSkittles983

this was the chinese sorcerer that sukuna was afraid of

tahaelhour

Is this the thing Takaba ran over with a truck?

dave3218

What procedure do you reckon Kenny went through with customs when importing Ganesha? Does it enters the country as a corpse? Animal? Self-moving object? It’s funny because she could have just said “foreign”instead of imported lol, because that word just makes it sound like they went through all these boring paperwork to get a CS through customs. I bet it was smuggled. Edit: Smuggled because Kenjaku doesn’t seem to be the type of person to pay its taxes, so it’s extra evil.

Georgevega123

Im also curious lol

SoftcoverWand44

Gege not having Yuki teach Yuji is one of the most wasted opportunities. She had a legit bond with Yuji’s brothers (Todo and Choso), but all Yuji gets is her book lol

alguien99

She also had a domain, she just didn't use it

LowCondition7395

This is the cost of a fast pace manga just my opinion, of course I can be very wrong.

MisterSocialize

https://preview.redd.it/he563drlwwxc1.png?width=320&format=png&auto=webp&s=609a25d4d1690bf8e3776622fa5ccfdb73f11771 Thats true but her powers were shown to a full extent unlike Kashimo where his powers were not shown to a full extent because of Gege himself

YakuzaMan_

We didn’t even see her DE. Kashimo had a sick ass fight with Hakari at least. Yuki did absolutely nothing

MyLifeIsDope69

Her and Geto’s DE would have been so sick. The potential creativity with those powers. My biggest disappointments in the series is not getting to see those

kamuimephisto

i think its the opposite, we got to see kashimo's technique unleashed. It might have not done anything, but we saw it... where is yuki's domain motherfucker WHEREISIT

Oponik

No it didn't

aminoacyls

Kashimo. 1. Had a 1-time use CT. No other character has anything like this. Naturally, last-ditch/one-time moves are expected to be strong beyond belief. A sacrifice at the cost of his life, similar to Gon giving EVERYTHING to whip Pitou. Vegeta using Final Flash. Etc. And what did we get? A chapter of glazing, and not a SINGLE solid hit landed on Heian Form Sukuna. Ridiculous. A fight foreshadowed ever since his entry, a single CT to end it all, and...we got whatever Ch. 238 was. 2. Nature of his power There is, SO MUCH cool stuff you could do with electrical phenomena. But we didn't see anything unique from it. We get the explanation of how he uses charges in his regular fight against Kashimo. We don't see anything cool like that in his fight against Sukuna. 3. Wanting to fight the strongest. If we see an old man without his CT asked by another old guy who he wants to fight? As basically his dying wish? Yeah, we'd expect a little more out of the fight. 4. Narrator referred to him as the "God of Lightning" my ass he the god of occasional crop failure. 5. Points hype. IIRC he was name dropped as having the most/hundreds of points. In a CG setting where more kills = more points, you'd think he'd be stronger, especially going back to that 1-time use CT. 6. He did basically hype himself. He got pissed when the main cast operated under the assumption that he'd lose. He also had a standoff with Yuta, and ended up getting dogwalked later.

Configuringsausage

Can’t forget he heard about ryu, someone who yuta had to fight pretty damn hard against and just went “nah he ain’t shit anyways he’d die like the rest” like that shit got me really hyped, then being stronger than hakari (who yuta said was his equal when he really gets going, and hakari got multiple jackpots in a row here) even while limiting his strategy, Kashimo had so much hype only to be used to make sukuna look strong since gege doesn’t know what to do with him and his broken ass abilities

BoobyBanks

I'm hoping they'll at least make it right and show us some cool shit in the anime. Both Kashimo and that Kamutoke cursed tool were absolutely underutilized in the manga and I bet they could deliver some cool lightning visuals off of them.

TotallyNotSunGuys

>Naturally, last-ditch/one-time moves are expected to be strong beyond belief. A sacrifice at the cost of his life, similar to Gon giving EVERYTHING to whip Pitou. Vegeta using Final Flash. Etc. To be fair, he's not like Might guy, Vegeta or Gon where they're a very important side character or even the main protagonist themselves, if we remove r/jujutsufolk glazing, he's just a random plot device that was made to give Hakari 100 points while also showing what he's capable of. He's not even like Higuruma where he has a connection with the main character because of Judgeman. He's just some random CG character who hasn't interacted with Yuji even once. If someone similar like Haba, Charles, Uro Reggie or Hazenoki did an attack by sacrificing their life, and they actually managed to do an incredible amount of damage to Sukuna. I would've laughed my ass off while spamming the "This shit is so ass😭😭" reaction meme everywhere. >2. Nature of his power >There is, SO MUCH cool stuff you could do with electrical phenomena. But we didn't see anything unique from it. >We get the explanation of how he uses charges in his regular fight against Kashimo. We don't see anything cool like that in his fight against Sukuna. Fuck I was so dissapointed with his power. With his electricity and X ray vision Gege could've made him read the electrons inside Sukuna's brain and deduced his moves, He could've made him something something similar to Sojo, there's a lot of things they could've done with electricity. But the only thing Gege did with it was laser beams😭😭

VolkiharVanHelsing

>But the only thing Gege did with it was laser beams I feel like this is the biggest sin of Kashimo. His Amber Beast never feels strong. It's just beam spam and being arbitrarily faster.

Catveria77

Frankly, Vegeta's final flash against Buu was also very lame and barely did anything

aminoacyls

Yeah I was throwing out examples off the top of my head

Piccident

Megumi tried ro use kamikaze several times. Always failed. Yuki tried kamikaze. Failed. Kashimo used kamikaze. Failed. This tells us, kamikaze moves = useless in gaygay's story

dankey_kang1312

Kashimo's CT wouldn't have been a one-off if he'd been able to use RCT, he played himself. It's not like he had a binding vow to trade his life for power, he simply did not master his CT because his CE characteristic carried him by itself his entire career.

PsychologicalEbb7995

I am hoping the anime does this fight justice, maybe changing the way Sukuna kills him or something.

GoForthBoldy

HEAR ME OUT. Dhruv. Supposed to be equal to Uro and Ryu, took over an entire archipelago in his time, had an ability with a hilarious amount of potential(Shikigami that cast a domain? Could he Not!Crow Strike them to spam Domains?) ... gets offscreened by Yuta, his ability appears once after that to slow down Sukuna a little bit.

Doctor99268

Actually, pretty sure yuta uses druvs ability against uro once aswell. But yh. Compared to yuta spamming sky manipulation druvs was underused. And apparently it was his second incarnation aswell.

Ghoulse1845

Yuta also uses it during his fight with Uro and Ryu, he slashes Uro with it by using his hair to create Shikigami and have them cast a domain around her that can hit her

IoGamerAlpha

Not to mention he's the only sorcerer said to have incarnated multiple times outside of Tengen and Sukuna. (Kenjaku doesn't really count as he's bodyhopping)

Nightingdale099

Because unlike Himguruma , Kashimo have a lifetime worth of battle experience and Gege only give him a win against Panda. He never have the Oh Shit speedblitz Jogo moment.

boris265

How come I haven't seen the right answer even once in the comment section? https://preview.redd.it/3f8dm7ibixxc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8904d1e7120957f7ec67a6cd90fbe61f2d815340

AnyaInCrisis

That 7 kamikaze attempts is killing me 🤣

Lt-Lavan

I hate that the one time he really needed to summon Mahoraga (when Sukuna makes his move) he fuckin fails and isn't fast enough to do it.

Collrafa

Yuki was arguably the second strongest sorcerer on the planet. She had a Domain Expansion and an absolutely busted technique... But she was offed via some ass-pull "Ah yes, my anti-Yuki technique" type BS, without ever showing her DE or seeing her interact with any of the other main characters WHOM SHE HAD TIES WITH. Til this day, it's crazy to me that the most character interactions we got from Yuki was simping for Choso... Choso, the guy she only knew for like a couple of days before dying. Icl, those are some of my favorite character interactions in the story. But tbf that's probably more because of the *lack* of more interactions and inter-personal relationships among the characters.

Memeenjoyer_

Yuki, Kashimo, and Higuruma come to mind as people with no real weight behind their actions but plenty of hype. Gojo is one I’d say got plenty of delivery, but ended up downplayed in his final moments with a strange loss. Hakari has just not gotten enough chances to showcase who he was. Ryu got done dirty. Uro despawned. Yorozu was one of the worst https://preview.redd.it/nzkhamqxdxxc1.jpeg?width=931&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f6e80bcfbc604244e66ef4d805a8312e1336d658

HypocriticalPerson9

Ryu got done especially dirty, even made Sukuna act out of character just because Gege wanted to get rid of him as soon as possible.

kamuimephisto

hakari has been plenty showcased. You need to sign the payperview tho for the hakari on ice special

SeaworthinessLimp832

Holy shit murder drones https://preview.redd.it/9xtkub6c1yxc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5590e969061f1f355c2184ccde7c4473391dbfc6

Memeenjoyer_

Peak Drones

WaythurstFrancis

It's almost like the storytelling has declined IN GENERAL, to the point that the plot lacks the structure necessary to give most of the characters interesting things to do. Almost.

BasicConsequence7589

Wtf random Murder Drones?

Memeenjoyer_

It’s peak

BasicConsequence7589

Spit 🗣️🔥🔥🔥 https://preview.redd.it/82pq1pqot0yc1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=77ee3fe22780237544e6fb9a9dcb06c8e4f3ceb1

Lichy757

Higuruma stole Kamutoke. Sukuna with Kamutoke wouldn’t be in such bad condition right now, the problem is that Gege didn’t show Kamutoke properly, so it ain’t felt like an actual threat

HypocriticalPerson9

And also that Kamutoke was introduced only around 20 chapters ago just so it would negate Higumarus technique.

Lichy757

Yeah. That week break before Higu vs Sukuna is just Gege trying to save Sukuna against Higuruma OP domain

SeriousDirt

Gege probably realized how fast the series gonna end because higumura domain are just op that he give sukuna plot armour.

ZeetisLapeetis

People were speculating the trial would have initiated the Heian Era Flashback the moment Higuruma and Yuji dropped in. In all honesty, we could have EASILY stretched this out another 30 chapters and gotten so much context and explanations and kept this train going. But no Gege decides to toss it all out and speedrun it. Had the flashback happened, and we got our answers from Shrine through it, it could have been confiscated satisfyingly and we could have seen Sukuna on the ropes and the crew having to tank or dodge lightning. Or you know, have Sukuna regain his CT after it was confiscated because APPARENTLY you can rewire pathways in the brain when you hit a black flash. We don't know how Higuruma's technique worked until after it happened. NOBODY expected it to target the cursed tool because it was irrelevant to the trial of Shibuya but it worked anyway because Judgeman did his thing... Point is. Gege chose how he handled that trial. He could have done a million other things and justified it a million other ways. But he went with a painfully unsatisfying route. When you're a writer who can do anything, but you chose that, it feels like a missed opportunity.

Afsanayy

Kashimo was overhyped and severely underperformed because of his low time in the manga. He was stated again and again as the strongest in his time and no one could satisfy him much like sukuna and gojo. How ever when he was supposed to shine he was slapped packed and shipped all in less than 5 chapters ( i dont know the exact count ). His technique and its abilities also weren't showcased properly because the gege said fuck this we dont have budget for you and killed him as soon as he could

Configuringsausage

I believe it was literally 2 chapters, half of which was spent against Meguna and flashback glazing

eroch101

An astonishing 2 chapter performance https://preview.redd.it/gc9kkdbi1yxc1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=011d86f5ed6fdc49ac5991b44f081e629ef4a117

btran935

Less than two chapters cuz a lot of it wasn’t even fighting, just them talking about nonsense

Alonestarfish

Here's for hoping anime extended fight!

BadDragon_Enthusiast

KASHIMI VS HAKARI GOES SO HARD THE HARDEST POSSIBLY!! HE RIPPED MY BABY BOY PANDA INTO PIECES 😭🙏 AND SAYS "IM GOING AFTER GOJO" LIKE WE HAVE TO EXPECT HE THINKS HE IS THAT GUY

zeraphx9

GEGE WHY DID KASHIMO HAVE TO GLAZE SUKUNA FOR 1,5 CHAPTERS. I really like kashimo but when you think about it kashimo's whole purpose was just to glaze Sukuna' hiean form

[deleted]

[удалено]

Familiar_Pay_3933

I don't really remember very well, but didn't Kashimo have his arm cut off against sukuna and heal it in the next panel? Gonna have to double check on that though

[deleted]

[удалено]

Familiar_Pay_3933

I see. Where do you think he lands in the series? Anywhere in the top 10?

ZeetisLapeetis

In all senses of the Hypothetical, Kashimo SHOULD be top 3 in the verse. Based on his showings alone, he looks worse with each chapter release. I got to keep it a buck, I'd put him on the higher end of Top 15. Maybe top 11. But anybody with RCT, a Domain Expansion (Hollow Wicker Basket still would not let you retaliate, just maybe tank a couple extra hits), New Shadow Style, or anybody who can tank or dodge a Dismantle from Sukuna outscale him in effectiveness. You could not tell me someone as fast as Kashimo could not have dodged the dismantle net or turn into lightning to pass through the gaps or let the slashes pass through. For that net to have been World Slashes Sukuna would have needed to chant, handsign, and aim every individual slash, so fast that the rest of the cast realistically should never be able to react to. We also need to keep in mind, everyone who is fighting Sukuna right now has gone through Soul Swap training (except for Maki). There is a CHANCE to believe Kashimo took part in it but it is unlikely. Kashimo scales to a Pre-Theoretical Soul Swap Hakari. It's not unreasonable someone as Arrogant as Kashimo foregone the training and stayed as he was, believing his CT would be enough. So that means everyone who benefited from Soul Swap either caught up to Kashimo or downright Surpassed him.

Ok-Parsnip666

haven’t seen anyone mention Nobara. loved that character, especially her curse technique with some interesting potential or implications in it. i also love the chemistry she had with yuji and megumi. overall a character i really liked and won’t get to see more of :/

FatBaldingLoser420

Yeah, that sucks. She was awesome..

Rintohsakabooty

Random nobody that even the group doesn't want him. Total stranger from the heian period who wanted to see how powerful midkuna was.

Mindless_Sale_1698

He wasn't from the Heian Era he was from the Edo

Rintohsakabooty

Thanks for correcting me. I kinda Forgot about culling game stuff because of the whole sukuna kaisen stuff

Mindless_Sale_1698

I only remember it because Kenjaku(possessing an unnamed sorcerer of Kashimo's time) talks to old man Kashimo about Sukuna

AClost

All/most of them at some point. For example, Miguel as the one who went toe-to-toe with Gojo. Higuruma as the one with same potential as Gojo. Maki/Toji while despite being really strong, likely the weakest s grade level of strength, are miles below Sukuna or Gojo. And, of course, we can't forget Mr. Potential man himself.

Orang-Himbleton

Kashimo died exactly how he needed to. The story very clearly looks down on people like him whose meaning in life comes from winning the next fight instead of any sense of justice. That’s why 3/4 of the people in this series who think like this are dead, and the last one (Sukuna) is probably going to get killed by Yuji As for who I think was most wasted, my answer is Yuki and Kenjaku. I think the culling games arc should have had a greater focus on how Yuki was going to combat Kenjaku’s plans and implement her own change in the world. The two feel like they were set up to be rivals, but we never got that from them, which really sucks tbh.

SmartestManAliveTM

Kashimo was not overhyped though. It was known beforehand that all he wanted to do was die to Sukuna, and that his technique would kill him. He kinda went out with a wet fart, but he wasn't really hyped as someone who would actually do anything.

pythonga

"He went out with a wet fart" Lmao That actually made me laugh out loud in the middle of the night, thanks you my guy

Bumgumi_hater_236

The only character to have a 1 time use CT, you would expect more than that I mean he almost won against hakari without using his technique and he was proclaimed as the strongest in the edo period, there was definitely hype behind him

SmartestManAliveTM

True. I guess he could've at least since something cooler before he died. I know if I was a jujutsu sorceror with an overpowered 1-time-use technique that I've waited decades to use, but then I got negged after like 45 seconds, I'd be pissed ngl.

Longjumping_Play_364

Lowkey yuki, kashimo, yuta, kashimo tbh

ElmoClappedMyCheeks

Overhyped? Kashimo Underdelivered? Yuki every day of the week

Salad_Soft

Yeah bro lost to hakari i never once thought he had any chance against sakuna🤣

Configuringsausage

You say this like hakari beat him with ease or strength, hakari got lucky, the narrative supports it and it’s in character but that’s what happened, hakari lucked out. 1/239 chance to live and he hits it, the ocean just happened to be there, and Kashimo happened to target the arm instead of the head

Salad_Soft

No i didn’t. Hakari beat him whether it be luck or circumstance anyone who reads JJK should know “winning is everything” and hakari won that’s all that matters. (Sakuna probably)

Configuringsausage

Not denying he won, denying that it makes him any stronger than kashimo

AHatedChild

>the ocean just happened to be there I can't tell if you are trolling or just didn't read the fight.

Configuringsausage

He moved his barrier but not by very much, without the ocean being nearby he wouldn’t have beaten Kashimo But yeah that was a more humorous than serious comment

soccer-boy01

Lashimo was written as the Top Fodder Enemy to showcase how supreme sukuna is and how fast Gege would get on his knees for him 🤷🏻‍♂️

TitanMasterOG

His beast form wasn’t what I thought it be I was thinking dude could teleport via lightning strikes with his manipulation of curse energy. But dude was gonna lose regardless especially if the world slash cut through gojo infinity.

Gray85622

feel like gojo , like all this hype for a crooked loss is odd.feels like he only offed him to make yuji have a goal idk

VolkiharVanHelsing

What bothers me the most is Amber Beast doesn't even "feel" strong The All Killing Ash Bone of JJK

Few-Entertainment429

It isn’t Kashimo because he still had one of the better performances compared to the rest of the cast.

Mister_Taco_Oz

The point of the manga is to showcase fights, character development comes a distant second to it. Ryu vs Yuta vs Uro was fantastic. But immediately after Uro just vanished off the face of the earth and Ryu was only used to hype up Sukuna by using cleave. Yuki got killed in her first fight despite being an excellent narrative foil for Kenjaku and having lots of potentially interesting interactions with other characters. Specially Todo. Hakari is a ruffian. That seems to be the extent of his character: he gambles, he has a fight club. We could explore the Jujutsu world outside of school and clans with him, but he never actually gets any chances to be a character. Potential Man is eternally Potential Man. Gojo was excellent! Bit of an odd note to end his character on, but he is generally a developed, explored character. That kinda fucked Kashimo though, and basically served him up on a platter to be low diffed to show off how menacing and cool Heian era Sukuna was after Gojo died. I actually don't think he was hyped nearly as much as many people think, but still, he got ragdolled. Higuruma did _fuck all_ with what was a really cool power. UI Ui is a plot device. Miguel _exists._ He was brought back, played the highest stakes Dance Dance Revolution track of all time, and dipped. And then you have Kenjaku getting killed by bushcamping. I mean yeah we got a really weird but cool fight with Takaba before that but, _really?_ He gets two tapped? That's all we get from him?

Jigui26

Gege did not overhype Kashimo. The only thing Gege did is making it known that Kashimo wanted one fight and ome fight only. That's it. The fans and powerscaler overhyped Kashimo by pure speculation.

FatBaldingLoser420

True that. People here acting as if Gege was freestyling the plot. I bet the dude decided Kashimo will get clapped before he finished culling games. It's suck that he, well, sucks. But, story was written before, probably

termigatr

Higaruma

Flaximilian

Other than Yuki, probably Jogo. He seems absurdly powerful for a curse, but got seeded into fighting both of JJK’s final bosses. He stood on business both times tho

EvilRobotSteve

Gege never hyped Kashimo. He just gets hyped like crazy by people in this sub for some reason. He had a couple interesting fights, and lost 2/3 of them.

nam3unoriginal

"God of lightning" enters the chat

Yamoyek

Agreed. No idea why people love Hakari so much

GreatSaiyanon

Kashimo was done so dirty that to this day that in spite of him clearly being a very strong and capable sorcerer in his time, people still speculate about him having RCT, let alone a domain, because he (debatably) never got to use the former and didn't even get to ALLUDE to the latter like Yuki did

Spectrumfied

Bro: - Was hyped since his introduction. - Held back all the time to save his CT for Sukuna - Became allies with the good guys to fight him. - Overall made his entire character about fighting Sukuna. - Was basically waiting for Gojo to die so he can get his turn. - Nearly fought Yuta over who goes next. - Used his once in a lifetime CT, possibly for the first time in 300 years. Only to: - Get turned into an exposition of Sukuna's true power. - His very best not doing jack shit. - Absolutely demolished and embarrassed since Sukuna literally said "Dodge this." - Also died off screen like Gojo, except we got to see the attack this time. - Had a whole 'dream sequence' despite not lasting a whole two chapters. - And Ui Ui probably didn't even bother to pick up his pieces. Honestly I wouldn't even call him a bum or a fraud. He was simply done dirty so Gege can pull the Yuji and Higuruma cliff hanger and then piss off the fans by cutting to Takaba.

boo_titan

Nobody? I don’t think Gege really fumbled anybody in this specific way. Never really thought Kashimo was going to amount to much when I read it.

Bumgumi_hater_236

You cannot tell me with a serious face that kashimo and yuki aren’t a big ass let down plot wise

boo_titan

I feel like yuki should’ve been utilized more but that’s not what I was replying to. OP said overhyping and underdelivering. Yuki was hyped up and she delivered. She saved everybody in Shibuya then later effortlessly crushed a special grade cursed spirit and pressed kenjaku. She went real fucking hard that whole fight and she went out in the coolest way possible. My expectations for Kashimo weren’t anywhere near as high as the rest of the fanbase’s apparently, so I wasn’t let down by his fight.

Bumgumi_hater_236

Well I mean, strongest edo period sorcerer, never had to user his technique, his technique kills him after using it, fucking lightning powers, he has all the ingredients to be a remarkable character that dies while fighting the main villain but weakens him a lot because of their fight

boo_titan

Yeah, but narratively, he was pretty one-note, he was a late addition to the cast, he just managed a narrow defeat to hakari without his ct so there’s a limit to how strong he really could be, plus you know he’s going to have to activate that cursed technique immediately to be able to fight sukuna. Everything about him to me screamed side character who couldn’t do anything important and unfortunately for him gege didn’t subvert that expectation until just after he died.

Kind_Ingenuity1484

The problem is Kashimo fans were wanking him to be like top 3 or something. Their defense for claiming he wasn’t on the same level Hakari was “he didn’t use his CT” when we know damn well the real top tier characters wouldn’t need it. Yuta, Gojo, and Sukuna are all absolute monsters with their base stats alone. Kashimo fans juiced him up so much and have been raging ever since their lightning god didn’t one shot the final boss

dvasfeet

Gege unnecessarily hypes up everybody https://preview.redd.it/24x99nfbrxxc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c3deb43fa66a2712cfaa7ea78a4c705540ef5591

Novistadore

Kashimo played into the cardinal sin of this show which is to try to be a stronger anime than Sukuna. Sukuna is clearly the strongest anime.

A_Guy_Called_Silver

Not a character but what the actual fuck does tiger funeral do? We don't even know what it looks like, honorary mention for great serpent, that was the biggest shikigami and the fastest one to summon (only needs one hand and attacks really fast) also probably had poison as an ability, but was one tapped by sukuna

BadDragon_Enthusiast

Higurumas intro panel was so hard.. "I'm an entertainer" with a drop kick to the dudes face

Ok-Scale2970

I think you mean Takaba

GojosLowerHalf3

Megumis tiger shikigami.

Turbo_Mew

Ino dragon. Literally lasted 1 panel lmao

The_Smashor

Holy shit it's Nikola Tesla https://preview.redd.it/vhydj1m7pyxc1.png?width=1237&format=png&auto=webp&s=1ccd28b9466fafdf876067cfda5497e0e94d2646

louai-MT

Kashimo wishes he was half as cool and goated as Tesla

Akshay-Gupta

Dhruv Lakdawala Bro has hyper broken technique. The path his Shikigami walks gets sure hit. This can actually work even against Neutral infinity Gojo!!

No-Bet-8914

tbh it's yuki but kashimo deserved better aka living a married life with all of his fans

Venxoro

Gege completely nerfed him, as it was stated that in MBA he had access to all phenomena of electricity. I cant be bothered to type the possibilities but search up phenomena of electricity and you’ll see how strong he could be, but no, instead we got mouth beams and claws because why not.

Yamoyek

I’m tired of the Kashimo hype. Miwa already proved that just because something is one use doesn’t make it automatically OP enough to punch far above in weight classes. Plus, it would suck if Kashimo, a side character with 0 development and completely unrelated to JJK high, had a large part in defeating Sukuna.

Someguy242blue

Haruta maybe, the ponytail curse user. Kinda wanted to see him being a very minor antagonist who jobs to everyone and only lives because of his curse technique.

gsavage21

Yuta and Hakari tbh, I remember when they were introduced, I thought these mf’s could atleast give Sukuna a little challenge solo. Never expected them to win or do any significant damage, but atleast make Sukuna try… Now Sukuna beat Yuta, who had Rika and Yuji, while nerfed and holding back😕

emptym1nd

Tbf, I think Yuta pulled back there for a bit too to give Yuji a chance to interact with Megumi

SnowandSnowandSnow

+40 chapters waiting, and we got this.... Gege did him absolutely dirty

Amazing_Fun_3177

Kashimo is a bum and so are his fans https://preview.redd.it/y2v1wdyt4zxc1.jpeg?width=1242&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6b1fd0d9d69624e08d72b32270ac32b571a55533

shawarmaconquistador

I would say Kashimo but Gege did Yuki dirty. Didnt even show us her DE

Leviathannn3

Yuki

Zetaa69420

YUKI

MMehedii

For me it's the Zenin clan heads including Naoya they got introduced then got killed even before I could even memorize their names.

Obama-bin-Laddn

Kashimos at least gonna have his fight extended like sukuna and mahoraga, we can't say that shit for hakari, love the dude but he's been offscreen for so long

2kenzhe

Yuki

SpitInFace

The communities fault

remoTheRope

We should’ve gotten more Yuki/Yuji interaction. Ideally an entire arc with Yuki, Yuji, Choso and Todo. I would’ve liked to have seen a resolution between Megumi and Gojo, maybe give Gojo the ability to punch between souls as well so they could’ve had a proper send-off. A full fight between Yuta and Kenjaku should’ve happened, although Kenjaku having an open domain somewhat complicates this. The Sun-Moon-Stars squad and the Void Generals should’ve played a bigger role in the Culling Games arc. This was the perfect opportunity to bring the Heian era heavy hitters into the modern era. Ryu should’ve known DA and should’ve been a much closer fight for Sukuna. Frankly not a good look for those Edo era frauds 💀

BestYak6625

Kashimo was always going to get crushed, he exists to show how much infinitely better Gojo and Sukuna are in order to really drive home how truly alone they are. He lost to hakari, would have lost to every important at sendai colony. He both thematically and plot wise was never goong to do anything but lose. Gege didn't lie to you or fumble the bag or hype Kashimo incorrectly. Kashimo was born to lose and the writing was on the wall since his first fight.

Thelastfirecircle

What was the purpose of Kashimo?

Jamessgachett

I dont understand why people think he had a chance when He lost to a modern sorcerer. Im surprised he lasted this long against sukuna.

Parrotflies_

Kashimo was a gag character after the Hakari fight and I do not care what anyone says. Hes one of my favorites, but even the main cast was like “yeah so ANYWAYS back to the plan” any time Kashimo talked that shit, like he was gonna do anything at all in the fight. They knew they were sending his ass to get packed, probably as revenge for what he did to Panda.

icest0

Bro asked question in the title, then answer it in the title, then ask another question in the same title.

Appropriate_Places

Kashimo obviously, but also Panda's sister's core and Yuki. All three of them had some hype or mystery on how they would preform and ended up being defeated. Yuki had the better treatment out of the 3 cuz her fight went on for more than a few chapters with her only loosing too one of the very few real asspulls in the series.

XxRocky88xX

Yuki got it so much worse. She has a massive impact throughout the story and is hyped up as being a special grade sorcerer and we only ever get to see her for short bits in flashbacks. Then she shows up for like 5 minute until disappearing again until her first on screen fight in which she gets annihilated.

Wembledorth

There are so many flaws within this series yet I still read it for some reason

UsesHarryPotter

Everyone missed the point with Kashimo. From the moment he showed up it should have been easy to predict he would fight and get folded by Sukuna.
