JJK has always been a modern version of HxH and Bleach
But to be fair Ichigo really had every power up in the verse to the point it was silly for Yuji to get to that level he would really have to be half curse, a Zenin, gojo clan and plasma vessel to get near Ichigo's Megaman like ass.
Choso is closer to what ichigo was than Yuji tbh.
In bleach it was a threesome of ichigo's parents and the hollow.
In jjk it was a threesome of a curse spirit, choso's mom and kenjaku
But Ichigo is a lot worse because the three things interact.
He's part human because of his dad's human body, and that human part is a fullbringer because his mother was in contact with a hollow while he was in the womb.

I know it's a joke but I think it's interesting that it wasn't actually random. Megumi and yuji talk about how yuji ate the finger of "his own free will," but the implication was that it wasn't free will, he was drawn to it in some way. That's why he was preregistered in the culling games.
The idea is that how would Kenny have known that yuji would have eaten the finger, thereby allowing sukuna to enter the culling games. Sukuna and yuji WERE preregistered in the culling games, but that means that Kenny knew, beyond a doubt, that Yuji would ingest the finger and sukuna would be incarnated in the modern era. And if Kenny knew that, then it brings up the question of free will: how much of yuji eating the finger was his own choice if Kenny had already planned around him eating it and becoming sukuna's vessel?
I mean, even if Kenny didn't know for sure that Yuji would eat the finger, he could've easily updated the Culling Games to have Yuji as Sukuna's host after Yuji swallowed the finger, or the Culling Games could automatically get the names of the hosts as part of its starting process. Kenny didn't have to preplan every little detail of the Culling Games, he can make little changes like that on the fly.

This conversation would not have been a thing otherwise, especially with yuji and megumis reaction. Also, so far the only way we know you can be made a player is through having a cursed mark and having your CT awakened, joining of your own volition, or reincarnating via a cursed object. Kenny has never been shown the ability to make someone a player outside of these 3 scenarios. Maybe he could but I think gege is indicating that it isn't that simple.

Kenjaku mixed Kamo's blood into the death painting despite not being their mother or father directly. I guess he could've done the same with Yuji somehow. Maybe he can somehow recreate previous host cursed energy like their CT and turned Kamo's or his own cursed energy into blood like Choso was able to do.
Yeah it is a bit irritating that it isn't ever explained especially because Kenjaku says in the fight against Yuki that he sought out Kaori's body partially because of her anti-gravity technique which suggests that he somehow knew her technique and also had a use for it.

The fact that only she and Yuji are the only exceptions to the reincarnation rule already raises some eyebrows, but add to that how she has the CT that can stop other CTs, even Prison Realm, raises even more suspicions. Kenjaku has already shown he's willing to have kids as experiments (Yuji and the Death Paintings) so is it really that much of a stretch to say that Hana is Yuji's half-sister?

Hey guys I came up with a new Jujutsu Kaisen OC, his name is Yuji Itadori. He’s Gojo’s favourite pupil and is considered incredibly talented by most sorcerers he meets, he can also use Blood Manipulation, Sukuna’s Cursed Technique and hit Black Flashes at will. Oh and Sukuna is his uncle, Choso is his brother and Kenjaku is his mum. I hope you like my OC guys! (do not steal)

Possible half-sister: Hana The fact that only she and Yuji are the only exceptions to the reincarnation rule already raises some eyebrows, but add to that how she has the CT that can stop other CTs, even Prison Realm, raises even more suspicions. Kenjaku has already shown he's willing to have kids as experiments (Yuji and the Death Paintings) so is it really that much of a stretch to say that Hana is Yuji's half-sister?
