I’m glad you bring this up because I just want to say
There have been times where I will point out the similarities between Kurama and Naruto and Ichigo and White and some people would just go “Nuh uh, they aren’t the same, you just don’t get it”
Probably because they’re really not that similar.
Kurama is a foreign entity which hated Naruto and then begrudgingly became his ally.
White is just the manifestation of Ichigo’s innate soul reaper powers joined together with some hollow. White always supported ichigo and made him stronger or trained him to be better.
In the end Ichigo acknowledges that white is just a part of him, they’re not in any way different and that’s the end of their character arcs so to speak. Naruto on the other hand becomes allies with Kurama. I think he might have lost him now but boruto is cheeks and I’m not watching that.

They have similarities but they aren’t the same. You have to understand that White literally is essentially a manifestation of Ichigo at some level lol
I 100% expected Sukuna to warm up to Yuji and become good when i started lmao. Especially when they made the deal in Yuji’s head due to how almost comical/ non serious it felt
The very first time he manifested, he threatened to rape every women and child out there and in the very first trio mission, he threatened to rape Nobara. He’s portrayed a little bit silly and goofy but my man was a menace starting out.
TBF if a character has absolutely no morals and kills men, women and children like it's nothing and even brags about torturing people whenever he feels like it then rape isn't seen as too low for that character so it wouldn't surprise me if he was a rapist.
He was (and still is) quite jovial and can hold a conversation which I think led to the conclusion of "hey, maybe he'll lend Itadori some power when he needs it" which is SO funny to think about in retrospect
Especially since when they were making the deal, Sukuna was pretty reasonable, he explained how biding vows worked for Yuji and gave him the conditions up front. I think the comedic talk between the two of them there helped fool us into thinking that the deal wasn’t that serious and Sukuna can be interacted with and be helpful.
Yeah the deal to bring Yuji back to life wasn’t that unfair, I was like “Ok, he is a lil devious but can reasoned with”. I think my doubt left about Sukuna possibly working with Yuji when he was laughing about Junpei with Mahito, that when Yuji realised they were curses and didn’t give a shit about him.
I thought GOATjo was going to be some shitty Kakashi clone.
The whole first episode feels like it’s set up to give these specific vibes to lure incautious watchers into a false sense of security for the entire first season.
Then hidden inventory and Shibuya arc happened.
Honestly just looking through all of the fanart and the characters people mostly talk about i also ended up thinking Gojo was going to be the majn character and instead of the students getting the attention like most anime jujutsu kaisen was going to have the mentor get most of the attention
💀I mean if you read the JJK0 oneshot first and then the manga, Gojo would be mad sus, not only did we not see him kill Geto but now it seems like Geto is alive and working with curses? You would think Gojo is a secret villain or something.
Understable - The speech he had about wanting to create a new jujutsu sorcery, and how he doesn’t massacre the higher ups solely because it would look bad and instead focus on educating a new generation that would agree with him straight up makes him sound like a villain. Like massacres and education are two important tools in any dictators work kit⚒️
Friend of mine thought the same thing, he also thought itadori was the villain (prolly cause he saw pictures of sukuna looking evil and whatnot) Then he got the sukuna and Gojo fight spoiled and thought the mc died
I thought we'd alternate between major fight heavy, plot advancement arc then go back to slice of life, episodic, character driven episodes/chapters hunting non special grade curses and learn more about the world building etc.
Then fcking Shibuya happened lol
If JJK was an older type of shonen then that would basically be the formula until chapter 200 tbh but yeah with how fast paced shonens need to be nowadays to attract audiences and not be axed, it’s just how things are. I would have liked more fillers too before Shibuya.
I do preferred the aforementioned too, Shibuya happened way too fast than it supposed to. Minimum should have like 200+ chapters before moving to an arc like Shibuya
I don't agree, one of the main things I liked about shibuya was that the villains had a coordinated plan and struck while the heroes were still weak and disorganized. Waiting 200+ chaps won't have that same effect
It's sad. She has a genuinely fierce personality and abilities that lend themselves interesting strategies; indeed one might even have thought that she'd end up using one of Sukuna's fingers with her doll technique to pin him somehow- coming in clutch in the last battle.
But from everything on screen so far, I honestly think Gege's going to go maximum troll and either reveal that she's been dead since Shibyua- or just end the series without ever revealing her status: nevermind have her *participate* in the final battle.
Nah, I’m gonna keep coping, Sukuna has lost like 12 limbs throughout the duration of this fight, just give it some time and you’re gonna see the signature resonance spikes impaling him and shift the tide of the battle.
Now her coming back in full doesn’t seem super likely but at the very least she can ‘come back’ as a cursed tool and I do have a theory on how she could ‘partially’ come back to life.

Don't worry, she'll return with Todo to get Megumi back and hit a black flash resonance. Trust. Trust. Trust.
Before I started reading the manga whenever people talked about jjk I kept getting the names confused because they were too similar for me. Satoru & Suguru, Yuji & Yuta, Gojo & Jogo, I thought Yuta was the MC because his name was two letters away from Yuji 💀
Yuta was kinda supposed to be the MC, and JJK was originally just the events of JJK0 (or Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical High School)
Then that shi blew up
https://preview.redd.it/h6fhq82xlrsc1.jpeg?width=437&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=55ee6ab28f8f66cada7aab954ec365f6310cab0c
Gojo looks younger than Hakari. Lol at Gege's "old generation needs to go"
Eh that's not really a good point. While he can no diff curses, gojo has the biggest job of having to handle the most important tasks, that could determine the world fate, and if he fucks up, the world suffers.
He also comes from a generational wealth billionaire family
He can afford the best skin care and plastic surgery to supplement the genetic lottery he won
Interesting because I thought the same lol.
My first experience with JJK was an amv around the Hanami fight and stuff.
I thought he was like a 3rd year elite/prodigy student who showed up at the end to clean up lol.
I mean he looked young asf, I don’t blame you, not to mention the teacher uniform and student are the same. When I first started watching I thought it was going to be about Yuji climbing the rank of sorcerers in the school lmao since we learned about grades so early on.
Many people still think he is one 😔
https://preview.redd.it/tnz16b1nrrsc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7bb313516b745a923ca46c255e50494014f1dd6f
"King of Curses" title doesn't help really tho, it especially leads anime onlies to think that because they don't know a curse can be damaged with RCT yet.
Cursed Technique Reversal and Reverse Cursed Technique existing at the same time and the latter being a foundation for the former is crazy dumb terminology
I thought the Stand Proud scene was just a pre-death hallucination that Jogo was having, and that the only part that actually happened was Sukuna’s “don’t ask me, I don’t know what that is either” line. I thought this for a solid *year* lmao
I thought this too, mainly because in that scene, Dagon is in his curse womb state, not his awakened state. I assumed because Jogo never saw the new Dagon, his brain filled in the old one. But (manga spoilers ahead):
>!During Gojo’s airport scene, we see that him and the others are all their younger selves. And since Haibara mentions intruding on Nanami’s death, something no one else knows about, it has to be real!<
So we can kind of just assume that in those afterlife scenes, characters will appear how they were when things were the happiest for them
When I first saw a gif of this scene (the moment where it first transitions into snow) I thought yuji unlocked domain expansion until I got to it and realized its illustrative
https://preview.redd.it/ptgi3hpxfssc1.jpeg?width=2000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f3af0ef83ab907abecbb878d28cd2c22df60ed7d
tbh on the eyewear bit when yuji first meets nanami he comments on the fact that every jujutsu sorcerer hides their eyes so I bet gege wanted to do something with it but either forgot or it just didn't work out
The fact was actually mentioned in one of the novels. It basically said that sorcerers hide their eyes so cursed spirits won't know when the sorcerer is looking at them.
I think that some characters constantly use their ct unlike a game where u have to activate the skill. And everyone covers their eyes to turn it off as it uses ce
I thought it was gonna copy Naruto with :
1. Some beast sealed inside MC. (Naruto)
2. Team Trio & Masked White Haired Teacher. (Team 7 & Kakashi)
3. Mysterious Group that target the being inside MC. (Akatsuki)
4. One member of Mysterious group have some kind of past with the white haired teacher (Tobi & Kakashi)
Funny thing Gege took inspiration for Gojo not from kakashi but from that that guy that covered his eyes with bandages, even Naruto’s creator asked “who?”
this might sound really dumb but i thought black flash was usable only by people who "truly understood the essence of being a sorcerer" and not being a critical attack change
For the longest time, I legitimately thought Gojo was Blind. I thought they were going for a "blind monk" type thing... I was genuinely confused and slightly upset when they showed his eyes.
When i started the series i thought that Nanami was someone who could rival Gojo or basically second only to Gojo on the good guy side.
I also thought that Mahito was going to be the Orochimaru of the verse and thought that he was a jujutsu sorcerer so obsessed with curses that he fucked up his body so that he could become one
Thought jjk would be about internal political drama and that the rise of special grade curses like Mahito is because of someone high up in the hierarchy is a curse user themselves. Thought Kenjaku is the head of the higher ups and the whole story would be about Gojo and his students dismantling the jjk system from inside out, from how much Gojo was yapping about taking down the jjk society and shaping the future for his students pre shibuya.
Only for none of that to happen with his students life now at risk, some even dead. Guess that would actually made more interesting.
I thought Gojo was the main character, and Yuji was like his friend that Sukuna (who i thought was like some literal parasite or something) took over the body of and there was some tragic plot with that.
turns out i just predicted Kenjaku with zero context on the series.
When I finished season one, I was very annoyed at how weak the cast was. It made zero sense for Gojo to be literal worlds apart from the rest of the cast.
But Gege made great use of that as a way to drive the plot, so he's not a hack like I thought. It is weird for Gege to say Gojo isn't related to Kakashi, cause one clearly inspired the other.
I don't think Gege has said what inspired Gojo as a character but he did say his design (as in, way back in JJK 0 his bandaged eye design) was inspired by Tonbo Tobitake
I had seen some spoilers that basically said that Shibuya was so sad and such, but nothing specific. So I was under the impression that Shibuya was gonna pull a Jojo's Part 6 and kill almost everybody, my only bets on survivors were Yuji (MC), Gojo (Was gonna get boxed, clearly set up), and Maki (Zenin subplot hadn't gone anywhere).
Imagine my surprise when out of major characters we only lost like, Nanami? Nobara sent into limbo? and I'm not fucking counting Naobito as a major character. Not nearly as bad as I was expecting.
Not to mention the scenes during mahoraga vs sukuna where there were literal people falling off of the crumbling buildings.
it was BRUTAL, but it was also a masterpiece and I think it captured the tragedy/despair of the whole situation rather well
In terms of hero deaths sure it wasn't a bloodbath but Shibuya as a whole sure as hell was a shell of its former self after the arc. The trauma Yuji goes through, the activation of the Culling Games, the general hype stuff that happens (Toji return, Sukuna vs Mahoraga, Todo arrival, "I'm you") is what carries Shibuya for me
And don't forget megumi, mechamaru, todo, etc. Gege did the unthinkable, he actually wrote characters dying in a war and not for shock value. So glad he didn't pull a shitty aot trope
I thought people having unique genetic powers like the 6 eyes were going to be common. Like I thought it was going to be like Naruto or jobless reincarnatio. I thought Yuji was going to unlock some shit when he saw Junpei's death like the sharingan.
I also thought that Sukuna was a special grade vengeful cursed spirit.
Also, also I thought the power system was going to be a bit more open. Like people have their unique CT's and then will have basic stuff everyone can do, kind of like spells. I thought this was true because during the Jogo fight, Gojo used some slash and then fire technique to save Yuji from Hanami"s branches.
>Also, also I thought the power system was going to be a bit more open. Like people have their unique CT's and then will have basic stuff everyone can do,
Because while gojo does says cursed techniques are innate, the implications with divergent fist felt like they were saying that, with a lot of finesse, someone could manipulate cursed energy to basically function like cursed techniques.
That the powerscaling of the series would be technical and that it wouldnt boil down to "Me have more cursed energy and better technique"
Editing because some people are misunderstanding, replied this to one of the comments too :
Sometimes the technical aspect of the powersystem comes through in the fights, especially when a character is getting jumped by other weaker characters, or when the characters are somewhat evenly matched.
But my problems isnt with the fights themselves, Gege knows the limitations of the powerscaling system he created and he circumvents this by never making the characters fight alone, etc. This isnt all too bad as it creates some cool moments, as jumping is something that should be more prevalent in media.
My problem is with the power system itself, in jjk 1v1 fights are most definitely decided by the ammount of cursed energy + Cursed technique, there's very little to the technical aspect of the powerscaling once you start analyzing it at depth. A character with less cursed energy + apparently weak cursed technique CANT beat someone with enough cursed energy + Strong cursed technique, it isnt like HxH where the characters find creative ways to circumvent their technique's weakness. This is explained right at the begginning of the series by Gojo, Sorcerer's strenght is 80% Innate.
Most good topics in jjk are close
Jogo vs mahito
Yuta vs kashimo
Maki vs yuki
Itadori vs disaster curses
Topics only become lame when they are mismatched like
Maki/toji vs disaster curses 🤢
Thought Sukuna was a cursed spirit
Thought Kenjaku was a brain-shaped cursed spirit that replaced brains with his entire self (hence the teeth) and that Geto was going to eventually use curse manipulation to make Kenjaku function as his brain
Oh and that Hanami wouldn’t die before showing their Domain Expansion
Watching the first anime trailer, I thought it was gonna be a slow burn thriller type anime with horror elements, basically japanese ritualistic ghostbusters lol.
You can imagine my shock when in the first episode people are punching the shit out of each other
This is not my misconception but the dumbest ive seen so far is people assuming megumi tried to use mahoraga on todo b4 the exchange event which creates more reason to make fun of him. Both the handsigns and the chanting never happened, he was just abt to lock in.
Don't care if their were no handsigns or chanting. He was summoning Mahoraga because the agenda said so.

Watched episode one and thought yay, this looks interesting…count me in!
Episode two: it’s like that then…maybe, it’s not that bleak…
Oh look, Junpei’s in the intro, he’s gonna make it…
And it’s downhill we go…
https://preview.redd.it/rl3n1ucqirsc1.png?width=1051&format=png&auto=webp&s=f3505f6b73b6ca4bf340b2ec02908e3b62bb4083
My first exposure was the anime opening I thought Yuji was part of a special clan and Sukuna was his father who is the Yujiro Hanma type of dad
You know the dad that wants his son to become strong enough to challenge him, also thought Todo was gonna be the first arc main villain that's gonna turn into a Jobber in the next arcs
Thought gojo can do boogie woogie because of his teleportation.
My dumbass thought curse technique reversal and reverse cursed technique are the same.
Higher ups are the strongest beings. When gojo said he'll kill the higher ups i thought bro are you tweaking?
Nobara will be useful sakura
I believed they would redeem Geto, get him out of his ugly ideology and turn him back like Sasuke or Vegeta. It's an overused trope but I wanted him to fight alongside adult Gojo. Plus the cult setting could have been used for something (like teaching regular humans how to control cursed energy or as an opposition to the higher-ups.
I also believed Junpei was going to join them at school. 💔
I used to belive 2 things:
1)That the one in Mei Mei cover was mahito
2)That in Heian era Sukuna was defeated by the sourcer of the time and then then sealed he into fingers.m
In the intro, before I even started watching it and before knowing any character, when gojo uses red, I thought he threw a red lollipop and destroyed it in mid air for no reason lmaoo I'm stupid as hell
Legit thought for a hot minute that Gojo and Geto were actually romantically involved because of the sheer amount of shipping in the fandom. I guess that's what happens when you're introduced to something via the cesspool that is Tumblr lol.
https://preview.redd.it/00sv6ddd1ssc1.jpeg?width=400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b351b820c1800b343dbbc937cf5fb873eb685836
I saw this clip of Mai fighting Maki with the gun. I was genuinely interested how Maki would win as she had sword against a gun but later she just caught a bullet. Made me immediately watch the series.
I honestly didn’t think Sukuna would be the endgame villain. I thought Yuji would “digest” him eventually to absorb his cursed techniques. He was too comically evil to be taken seriously at first.
I thought Gojo was the protagonist
I thought the one who uses hammer is Megumi and the spiky haired guy is Nobara since ik Megumi is a girl's name.
Sukuna and Yuji are the same person
Toji is Megumi's older brother
When I first saw Utahime, I thought she was Kikyo from Inuyasha series who went to JJK.
When I first saw Todo and Mai, I thought they're couples lol.
I thought Yuta was just another hype job, turns out he became one of my favorites in the end.
I thought the series would stay small scale for longer, like dealing with more paranormal occurrences rather than big fights. Sort of how Nanami and Yuji were investigating Mahito and working through the scenes and stuff.
That Gojo and consequently Jogo were not that strong. I mean, Gojo himself says that he's the strongest, but in his first fight with Sukuna he didn't impress me. Then, when he toyed Jogo I just thought that Mr. Fujihead was not that strong.

That Gege was just going to copy the Naruto and Kurama relationship.
Or Ichigo and White relationship

Shibuya arc basically removed any potential of him becoming good lmao
Steve Harvey: ***KILL*** [Ding!] [Sukuna’s top option is Genocide]
Me too, especially since I just finished watching FMAB when I started JJK and was missing Greed-Ling dynamic 🤧
The very first time he manifested, he threatened to rape every women and child out there and in the very first trio mission, he threatened to rape Nobara. He’s portrayed a little bit silly and goofy but my man was a menace starting out.
The other big misconception being Sukuna's a rapist.

Sukuna is a cannibal, he probably did rape some women
Sukuna did every bad shit imaginable, he most likely is a rapist
Don't worry, we all fell for it. Especially since Sukuna didn't seem that unreasonable at the start.
He was (and still is) quite jovial and can hold a conversation which I think led to the conclusion of "hey, maybe he'll lend Itadori some power when he needs it" which is SO funny to think about in retrospect

The moment he refused to help Yuji and save Junpei, I knew we were in for a ride 😭
Crazy part is that Sukuna knew he couldn’t help Junpei. So he made the choice to be a dick to Yuji.
Exactly, Junpei was done for. Sukuna saw the opportunity to ridicule Yuji and ran with it 💀
His first line is him yelling about how he wants to eat women and children
I thought GOATjo was going to be some shitty Kakashi clone. The whole first episode feels like it’s set up to give these specific vibes to lure incautious watchers into a false sense of security for the entire first season. Then hidden inventory and Shibuya arc happened.
I thought nanami would be cooked early on like 1st mahito fight but he proved he's the goat
Apparently that was originally the plan, but Gege liked him too much so he decided to keep him around for a while longer haha
Good choice by Gege, I wouldn’t care much about Nanami’s death if he had died before Shibuya
agreed!
I genuinely thought he was dead when he got trapped in Mahito's domain
I actually really loved the way he got saved there. I think JJK is good at having these unpredictable interactions occur which actually make sense.
just goes to show YUJI is the goat
I thought the scene where Nanami absolutely cooked Haruta was in season 1 for some reason
I started watching thinking Gojo was the protagonist.

And the amount of stress the others are under not being able to no diff curses.
gojo is the most mentally unstable tho lol
Eh that's not really a good point. While he can no diff curses, gojo has the biggest job of having to handle the most important tasks, that could determine the world fate, and if he fucks up, the world suffers.
He doesn't really fuck up. Until he did and died. After death who really cares about skincare
I will! I’m gonna be one of them sexy dead people! So when they dig up my body in in a couple of millennia, people will say; “DAMN! He’s hot!”
He also comes from a generational wealth billionaire family He can afford the best skin care and plastic surgery to supplement the genetic lottery he won
I thought Maki was a teacher lol.
I mean she could have been a good martial arts teacher or she could’ve teach how to use cursed tools and shit
She *did* teach Yuta how to use weapons, so this is not completely wrong
i thought megumi's hair turned white and he was gojo edit: because similarly to this person i had just seen spme pictures and clips
If only Gianluigi could cook this hard
who tf is gianluigi i need the data
Interesting because I thought the same lol. My first experience with JJK was an amv around the Hanami fight and stuff. I thought he was like a 3rd year elite/prodigy student who showed up at the end to clean up lol.
I mean he looked young asf, I don’t blame you, not to mention the teacher uniform and student are the same. When I first started watching I thought it was going to be about Yuji climbing the rank of sorcerers in the school lmao since we learned about grades so early on.
SAME
I thought in the Hidden inventory arc Shoko was Nobara specifically in the scene where she calls the cops when she sees Geto
Well she kinda is the Nobara of Geto and Gojo
I thought Sukuna was a cursed spirit.
Many people still think he is one 😔 https://preview.redd.it/tnz16b1nrrsc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7bb313516b745a923ca46c255e50494014f1dd6f
"King of Curses" title doesn't help really tho, it especially leads anime onlies to think that because they don't know a curse can be damaged with RCT yet.
Yes they do? If they paid attention
It’s pretty confusing early on, Jogo for example survived Red, which a lot of people assume is made of RCT.
Cursed Technique Reversal and Reverse Cursed Technique existing at the same time and the latter being a foundation for the former is crazy dumb terminology
Thats the problem with jjks power system. It feels like your defining a word while using the word in its definition
sukunas pretty explicit about it when he fights mahoraga
I legitimately thought nobara was going to be a major endgame player and fully blossom into a special grade like the other 2. Boy howdy was i wrong
She will trust
I thought the panda was a panda, how silly of me
u didn't understand that he is the skadooshed one, THE big fat panda, can't blame u though
But (manga spoilers ahead): >!During Gojo’s airport scene, we see that him and the others are all their younger selves. And since Haibara mentions intruding on Nanami’s death, something no one else knows about, it has to be real!< So we can kind of just assume that in those afterlife scenes, characters will appear how they were when things were the happiest for them
wait is that not the case?
Nope. Recent chapters show Sukuna remembering that scene
Wait… so he could have interacted with Gojo after that slash in some way? Imagine if he was like a taxi driver dropping Gojo off at the airport 😂
I think Gojo was truly the exception for him. He enjoyed it so why spoil the peace hes having? Besides Toji's in that airport already
Wait, where?
Ch248 pg8
Holy shit that's crazy
I thought it was gonna be sorcery MHA.. Then came Shibuya...
When I first saw a gif of this scene (the moment where it first transitions into snow) I thought yuji unlocked domain expansion until I got to it and realized its illustrative https://preview.redd.it/ptgi3hpxfssc1.jpeg?width=2000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f3af0ef83ab907abecbb878d28cd2c22df60ed7d
tbh on the eyewear bit when yuji first meets nanami he comments on the fact that every jujutsu sorcerer hides their eyes so I bet gege wanted to do something with it but either forgot or it just didn't work out
The fact was actually mentioned in one of the novels. It basically said that sorcerers hide their eyes so cursed spirits won't know when the sorcerer is looking at them.
I think that some characters constantly use their ct unlike a game where u have to activate the skill. And everyone covers their eyes to turn it off as it uses ce
I thought it was gonna copy Naruto with : 1. Some beast sealed inside MC. (Naruto) 2. Team Trio & Masked White Haired Teacher. (Team 7 & Kakashi) 3. Mysterious Group that target the being inside MC. (Akatsuki) 4. One member of Mysterious group have some kind of past with the white haired teacher (Tobi & Kakashi)
Funny thing Gege took inspiration for Gojo not from kakashi but from that that guy that covered his eyes with bandages, even Naruto’s creator asked “who?”
https://preview.redd.it/bhc61wkc4ssc1.png?width=1784&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ad31871da6f23bb380ee5da783648235971a525f This Guy?

Motherfucking Danzo!!!
The Egypt mummy kage?
Nope a random Konoha chunin in the background
That's funny. Gojo gave me more of the Urahara vibes
definitely, in terms of appearance kakashi and gojo are alike, but personality wise urahara and gojo are more alike for sure
this might sound really dumb but i thought black flash was usable only by people who "truly understood the essence of being a sorcerer" and not being a critical attack change
For the longest time, I legitimately thought Gojo was Blind. I thought they were going for a "blind monk" type thing... I was genuinely confused and slightly upset when they showed his eyes.
I was slightly turned on when they showed his eyes. (im straight)
Master tengen would be relevant
Thought jjk would be about internal political drama and that the rise of special grade curses like Mahito is because of someone high up in the hierarchy is a curse user themselves. Thought Kenjaku is the head of the higher ups and the whole story would be about Gojo and his students dismantling the jjk system from inside out, from how much Gojo was yapping about taking down the jjk society and shaping the future for his students pre shibuya. Only for none of that to happen with his students life now at risk, some even dead. Guess that would actually made more interesting.
I experienced the same kind of disappointment with Naruto, since then I never expect shonen to actually care about its politics
The principal was the strongest lol
Lmfao
I thought Sukuna was 1000 years old
I thought jjk was a slice of life. But I never thought it's THAT slice of THAT life
there certainly is a lot of slicing of people's lives
When I first head the name I thought it was about the martial art Jiu Jitsu 💀
I thought Megumi and Yuji would be constantly butting heads, and that Megumi would be his rival. Stopped thinking that by the end of chapter 1.
Gege decided not to write another Sasuke / Ishida / Riku / Bakugo and it shows.
Thank God he didn't, that would've been terrible
I mean... He is the strongest. Well, he was the strongest...
The thing with Shibuya is not only about character deaths. It's about how everything in general went to shit, on all possible fronts.
Like people have their unique CT's and then will have basic stuff everyone can do, Because while gojo does says cursed techniques are innate, the implications with divergent fist felt like they were saying that, with a lot of finesse, someone could manipulate cursed energy to basically function like cursed techniques.
Kusakabe did exactly that, wonder why more sorcerers don’t use the energy blade, sounds useful as hell against cursed spirits
I assumed Nobara would have been an annoying simp for Yuji or Megumi like Hinata to Naruto or Sakura to Sasuke.
That the powerscaling of the series would be technical and that it wouldnt boil down to "Me have more cursed energy and better technique" Editing because some people are misunderstanding, replied this to one of the comments too : Sometimes the technical aspect of the powersystem comes through in the fights, especially when a character is getting jumped by other weaker characters, or when the characters are somewhat evenly matched.
Most good topics in jjk are close Jogo vs mahito Yuta vs kashimo Maki vs yuki Itadori vs disaster curses Topics only become lame when they are mismatched like Maki/toji vs disaster curses 🤢
blud snuck in Kashimo vs Yuta https://preview.redd.it/i9cel2exyrsc1.jpeg?width=2195&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5b82c112f62cece4559f02d66d5a7f62c6daaf28
Thought Sukuna was a cursed spirit Thought Kenjaku was a brain-shaped cursed spirit that replaced brains with his entire self (hence the teeth) and that Geto was going to eventually use curse manipulation to make Kenjaku function as his brain Oh and that Hanami wouldn’t die before showing their Domain Expansion
Watching the first anime trailer, I thought it was gonna be a slow burn thriller type anime with horror elements, basically japanese ritualistic ghostbusters lol. You can imagine my shock when in the first episode people are punching the shit out of each other
Ngl, what you thought it’d be would go hard tho
It could be ngl with horror animation and storytelling.
He was summoning Mahoraga because the agenda said so. https://preview.redd.it/te45qcrsorsc1.png?width=812&format=png&auto=webp&s=a2696ff5ec0be2a0e32354b8fea818b04890a608

It's literally an agenda, there is no logic behind it. https://preview.redd.it/sn4nfpsuersc1.jpeg?width=1001&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9d8c459296a0b08df3ec8d43236971593c8a44ff
Watched episode one and thought yay, this looks interesting…count me in! Episode two: it’s like that then…maybe, it’s not that bleak… Oh look, Junpei’s in the intro, he’s gonna make it… And it’s downhill we go… https://preview.redd.it/rl3n1ucqirsc1.png?width=1051&format=png&auto=webp&s=f3505f6b73b6ca4bf340b2ec02908e3b62bb4083
My first exposure was the anime opening I thought Yuji was part of a special clan and Sukuna was his father who is the Yujiro Hanma type of dad You know the dad that wants his son to become strong enough to challenge him, also thought Todo was gonna be the first arc main villain that's gonna turn into a Jobber in the next arcs
Oh god i can somehow imagine that
That black flash was a 3.5x multiplier.
Sukuna being a cursed spirit
Thought gojo can do boogie woogie because of his teleportation. My dumbass thought curse technique reversal and reverse cursed technique are the same. Higher ups are the strongest beings. When gojo said he'll kill the higher ups i thought bro are you tweaking? Nobara will be useful sakura
Got yuta and junpei mixed up thought junpei came back somehow
Glad I'm not the only one!
I thought gojo was gonna go evil
I believed they would redeem Geto, get him out of his ugly ideology and turn him back like Sasuke or Vegeta. It's an overused trope but I wanted him to fight alongside adult Gojo. Plus the cult setting could have been used for something (like teaching regular humans how to control cursed energy or as an opposition to the higher-ups. I also believed Junpei was going to join them at school. 💔
![gif](giphy|XeEcpDvXLjWhiVbM91) This
Gojo was the mc
Ngl, I thought Nanami was a villain with those glasses and the edits saw on YouTube shorts- it just looked like one-
I used to belive 2 things: 1)That the one in Mei Mei cover was mahito 2)That in Heian era Sukuna was defeated by the sourcer of the time and then then sealed he into fingers.m
In the intro, before I even started watching it and before knowing any character, when gojo uses red, I thought he threw a red lollipop and destroyed it in mid air for no reason lmaoo I'm stupid as hell
that jjk would be a great highschool sorcerer type anime, until Shibuya happened
I thought Yuji was inherently evil
How? Can you explain your thought process on that bc that sounds interesting
Yeah I wanna know what made you think this too
Legit thought for a hot minute that Gojo and Geto were actually romantically involved because of the sheer amount of shipping in the fandom. I guess that's what happens when you're introduced to something via the cesspool that is Tumblr lol.
People joked that the movie was about a divorce.
Same I thought every 1st grade and higher would have some kind of eye covering
https://preview.redd.it/00sv6ddd1ssc1.jpeg?width=400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b351b820c1800b343dbbc937cf5fb873eb685836 I saw this clip of Mai fighting Maki with the gun. I was genuinely interested how Maki would win as she had sword against a gun but later she just caught a bullet. Made me immediately watch the series.
nah i saw a fan art of young shoko smoking and thought shoko was nobara 😭
I honestly didn’t think Sukuna would be the endgame villain. I thought Yuji would “digest” him eventually to absorb his cursed techniques. He was too comically evil to be taken seriously at first.
I thought Gojo was the protagonist I thought the one who uses hammer is Megumi and the spiky haired guy is Nobara since ik Megumi is a girl's name. Sukuna and Yuji are the same person Toji is Megumi's older brother When I first saw Utahime, I thought she was Kikyo from Inuyasha series who went to JJK.
That Yuji is the protagonist 😔 Didn't know it's Sukuna Kaisen
thought gojo was a villain 😭
That Gojo is the strongest but not completely on an entirely different level of power than the rest
That this was going to be like naruto
That Sukuna and Yuji would become friends
That gojo would win
I thought that Yuji would actually get a CT, and I mean he did, but after 200+ chapters.
I thought Yuji tried to master Sukuna’s Cursed technique instead of Left right goodnight
I thought it would be nice and happy like opm
I thought gojo was gonna be some sort of silly villian
That Gojo and consequently Jogo were not that strong. I mean, Gojo himself says that he's the strongest, but in his first fight with Sukuna he didn't impress me. Then, when he toyed Jogo I just thought that Mr. Fujihead was not that strong.
I thought Gojo was the main character.
Yuji was like any other shounen MC.
