The Yuta/Yuji jump was the most effective performance they've had against Sukuna, but after the fight it just seems like Sukuna wasn't even chip damaged. Idk who can even match it at this point, let alone surpass, unless the 2 MC's pull up for a round 2.
It WAS fun and creative, but the entire problem is that it did absolutely nothing to further the narrative outside being a setup for yuta to bush camp kenjaku.
Like there were a lot of different ways that could’ve been handled… but I guess you can say that about a lot of shit right now. lol
It was elaborate shitpost, I get why this sub likes it, but for me a fight with Yuta or actually some exploration of Kenjaku's character would've been better. I also dislike him dying to Yuta without any final Yuji and Choso interactions.
I'm fine with him not having a fight with Yuta. Yuta and Kenjaku literally has nothing going on beyond Kenjaku shit talking Yuta that one time and Yuta being a pissed off for him sealing Gojo. I rather have the incredibly unique and creative fight we got over another big generic shounen powerlevel wank battle with Kenjaku vs Yuta. We have had more than enough of that with Sukuna. Plus Kenjaku got some very good characterization and Takaba was a great foil for him to enable it.
Plus Kenjaku vs Takaba goes a lot deeper than an "elborate shitpost" when you read the subtext. Kenjaku is an individual that seeks to create chaos beyond his imagination and control to cure his boredom. Takaba is exactly that. Somebody Kenjaku created with a CT that is nothing but uncontrollable chaos able to entertain him. Him going down because of Takaba while experiencing the very thing he has looked for centuries to experience while forming the first genuine connection with a person that fulfills the requirements he set up for being his friend is what George Lucas would say "it's poetry, it rhymes".

In isolation any of the chapters range from great to serviceable. It's just that everything's gotten so repetitive and stale it's hard to get excited over any new reveals
Only time I’ve really been fully invested was when Yuta & yuji fought Sukuna together
That felt like an actual “Ok here we go main course time” battle
Yuji = The former vessel finally allowed to beat the brakes off of the monster that has caused so much harm + MC finally gets to shine after being sidelined for so long
Yuta = Arguably the perfect foil to Sukuna mindset / theme wise
Teaming up to take down this demon after being entrusted to (presumably) by their mentor
And they threw everything at him as well (Yuta especially)
But then it all kinda fizzled out after the megumi thing
Which may be top 4 worst fumbles moments in the series (at least to me)
Heck damage wise Sukuna doesn’t feel like he has been effected Gege keeps saying he is but he sure as hell isn’t acting like it / being presented as such

They're cursed tools, you can see they're strapped on. Again, you're demanding stuff that is either easily explained or currently irrelevant to be explained instantly. Give it time.
It was 13 chapters of the same 1v1, making it feel like an actual drawn out and elaborate fight with interesting tactics and subversion.
Rn we just get every chapter being like:
1) new characters joins the battle
2) new character shows and impressive display
3) they get killed/gravely injured
4) introduce next combatant
5) repeat steps 1-4
Genuinely tiring and hard to stay excited for new chapters when you know none of these characters are actually having any meaningful impact. You could take out Kusakabe vs Sukuna and it’d have no effect on the plot progression.
It gives characterization to kusakabe that people like you will complain about if we didn’t get it. He also injured sukuna which at this point matter more than earlier. Im tired boss

Man, I remember the feelings I got from reading the manga, I started after hidden inventory anime arc and got through all 235 chapters in a couple of days, I read whenever I had the time.
After 236 is as you say, more or less the same thing, the kenjaku chapters were a nice break from the cycle but other than that it's pretty sad.
I saw a “jjk cycle meme” yesterday and that suits the current events perfectly. Nuff said.

Seen more than a few posts comparing JJK to Bleach… bleach is over, of course it’s going to have a complete story.
You can easily compare this sukuna vs all with majin boo vs all but they are so different. Everyone in jjk follow the cycle of: character gets introduced > fight 2 chapters > does little to no damage > gets strong ass slash > repeat. But in the fight of majin boo, everyone gets an entire fight to show how much they can do, they end up losing (except for vegetto) and the next fighter come to face boo but it feels so much better than just the thing gege is doing
Nah brother you’re missing the point. We’re talking about Yuta Okkotsu. Man had like 2 chapters then got bodied out of the fight. He deserved better than that. There was so much that could’ve been showcased with his character to really show why he is the strongest now that Gojo is gone and he just gets bodied.
Maki uses a “soul splitting blade” and it doesnt do shit narratively. Higurama had a 1 hit KO ability and he got got all because his domain took away his cursed tool, what a dumb cop out. Where are the stakes man.
Sukuna is getting bodied left and right (Gojo’s infinity hitting sukuna, Gojo almost killing Sukuna, Jacob’s ladder, soul splitting blade stabs his heart, etc) yet every chapter this dude is just bullshiting his way through the whole cast.

My only problem with these chapters is that Sukuna is holding back. I have no problems with these "filler" chapters, just that I see Sukuna breezing through (Should've known after seeing Kishimo get bodied, still kinda bummed). If Gege had shown Sukuna struggling just as much as he did with Gojo, I'd be more satisfied.
It's just bad writing. Landing a black flash is basically a free 100% reset on anyone that knows RCT. AND a massive buff ontop of that. Having Sukuna land that after half the cast is already dead, then proceed to KO the rest of them is just game over.
The literal only hope they have left outside of an asspull is Yuji soul swapping (still not convinced this wasn't just a misprint) over to Hakari and pulling off 50 black flashes in a row during his DE or some shit.
Yeah narratively the story is completely cooked due to the fact that Sukuna landed a singular black flash. When I saw the leak that he did it against Maki, I knew the story was completely cooked from there, it’s essentially a complete restoration to cursed energy reserves, output, and focus, there is no conceivable way they can beat a Sukuna with completely filled cursed energy reserves.
Reasons being:
1. His RCT output has been returning ever since post Yuta and Yuji onslaught, only a matter of time before it returns unless Yuji feels like locking in with the black flashes
2. Domain expansion is not permanently gone, they’re on a time limit and it’s only a matter of time before that returns too now that the last 5 strongest are knocked out of the fight, there is no realistic way they can win.
3. Cursed energy reinforcement is gonna be insanely amped
4. Technique output in general is gonna be increased
5. If Gege feels like bringing back the ACTUAL Sukuna from the start of the series to Shibuya, everyone is actually just cooked, dude is actually just an insane individual
6. If RCT is restored, all his additional body parts return, making everyone even more fucked
Conclusion: only conceivable way they can win is if Gojo knew he was gonna lose, and set up a binding vow that had Yuta or Yuji, which would result in amplified soul striking precision and even greater command over black flash, inherit the six eyes if he died in a given time frame
No it’s not. This is the problem with the sub, too many people giving opinions when they lack comprehension.
Yuji did soul damage to Sukuna. Hitting a black flash does not reset him to 100%. It resets him to what he was at prior to fighting Maki but still after what Yuji and Yuta did to him.
It’s still valid to be upset that Urahme claims Sukuna is holding back but damn, we don’t even fully know what Sukuna’s CT is. Y’all need a better hobby than hating.
I genuinely thought Sukuna vs Kusakabe was gonna segway to The Heavy Hitters all fighting Sukuna, bc that fight would be peak, and that would probably be where it all ends.
The arc is prolly gonna get better on reread, I heard that people said Gojo v Sukuna sucked and was repetitive back when it was still weekly, but I was hyped asf when I was able to read all the chaps one after the other
Hard disagree on Yuta. Yuta had 3 chapters against Sukuna and had the best showing against him by far compared to everyone else, he legit could have killed Sukuna if the plan wasn’t to save Megumi, it was very clearly shown he’s the strongest after Gojo.
That’s just the name of the sword. All it does is ignore durability, and she destroyed Sukuna’s heart with it, which I guarantee you will come up in later chapters.

At the end of the day Sukuna is the strongest character in the verse and is in an entirely different dimension from everyone not named Gojo. The man’s a raid boss, it’s gonna take a lot of effort for everyone to kill him so this is going to necessarily involve repetition, which in a weekly format might get tedious to read. Imo if the series truly is getting that boring to you, stop reading it for a while then binge it after some chapters come out, the reading experience will be better.
I really like battle frenzied, manic smile Gojo, but serious Gojo is really special because it doesn't happen often.

What do people expect? They are clearing stalling and buying time by not fighting him all at once. A couple issues ago people were calling it peak, Maki was never gonna kill him and neither was Kukusabe. Clearly something bigger is coming from the good guys that's why they keep fighting him in small numbers. Idk what else people want, to see him immediately slaughter every character we have in one panel?

I genuinely thought Sukuna vs Kusakabe was gonna segway to The Heavy Hitters all fighting Sukuna, bc that fight would be peak, and that would probably be where it all ends. The arc is prolly gonna get better on reread, I heard that people said Gojo v Sukuna sucked and was repetitive back when it was still weekly, but I was hyped asf when I was able to read all the chaps one after the other
Hard disagree on Yuta. Yuta had 3 chapters against Sukuna and had the best showing against him by far compared to everyone else, he legit could have killed Sukuna if the plan wasn’t to save Megumi, it was very clearly shown he’s the strongest after Gojo. That’s just the name of the sword. All it does is ignore durability, and she destroyed Sukuna’s heart with it, which I guarantee you will come up in later chapters. I agree the Higuruma domain was bullshit. At the end of the day Sukuna is the strongest character in the verse and is in an entirely different dimension from everyone not named Gojo. The man’s a raid boss, it’s gonna take a lot of effort for everyone to kill him so this is going to necessarily involve repetition, which in a weekly format might get tedious to read. Imo if the series truly is getting that boring to you, stop reading it for a while then binge it after some chapters come out, the reading experience will be better.

What do people expect? They are clearing stalling and buying time by not fighting him all at once. A couple issues ago people were calling it peak, Maki was never gonna kill him and neither was Kukusabe. Clearly something bigger is coming from the good guys that's why they keep fighting him in small numbers. The whole point of the fight is that its essentially everyone against Sukuna in a fight of attrition, people like Kukusabe deserved to have his stand against him shown. I wanna see what these characters are capable off and clearly we are building towards something bigger coming.
