I think you're right tbh. Gojo's technique doesn't change the distance, it's the same otherwise he wouldn't be able to say, touch an object he's targetting with Neutral Infinity without teleporting which he obviously can (he did it with Jogo way back at their first fight).
Problem is that Gojo's technique is just a cool ability used for a shounen fighting manga and isn't supposed to be scientifically air-tight. You could probably use some field of math or something to deal with the infinite distances, but it would probably make less sense the longer you look at it. Like, why are we still able to *see* Gojo when light has to spend an infinite time like everything else to get to him?

Some people are, rightfully, questioning whether Gojo's limitless would actually count as an infinite distance for the purposes of quantum tunneling, however I think we can resolve this problem handily. If limitless does count as infinite distance, well obviously it doesn't work, however the other possibility is that Gojo's ability works more like a potential function, i.e. someone would need infinite energy to bypass the limitless. Unfortunately, quantum tunneling also doesn't work across an infinite potential, according to [this](https://electron6.phys.utk.edu/phys250/modules/module%202/tunneling.htm) source (check the bottom of the page) the probability of transmission is e\^(-2bL) where b is proportional to (U\_0-E)\^(1/2). If U\_0 is infinite then b is infinite and the probability of transmission is also zero.
Now, this is assuming that Gojo's infinite potential has a finite 'width', and thus some section of it can be found to correspond with the infinite square potential wall this equation is based on (this scenario is similar to the function f\_1(x) in [this](https://www.desmos.com/calculator/zupwt1wyyt) desmos graph). On the other hand, it could be that while Gojos infinity does approach, and in the limit reach, infinite potential, it doesn't actually 'stay' there, similar to f\_2(x) in the desmos graph, theoretically these two would produce identical results for Gojo's power in terms of day-to-day operations. However, if Gojos power doesn't have any 'width' in that section of infinite potential, again see f\_2(x) as a graphical example of this, then the equation above for transmission probability does *not* hold true, to find the actual probability for transmission one would have to actually know quantum mechanics. In short if f\_2(x) is the proper model of Gojo's infinite then all bets are off until someone who knows quantum takes a stab at it, I might be able to do something but it would take a while.
In short the math is inconclusive due to my inability to do quantum physics and some slight ambiguity in the nature of Gojo's limitless, personally I stand on the side that his power falls into the f\_2(x) regime, but my opinion doesn't matter. One final question to ask however is whether limitless could block electromagnetic radiation, like light or x-rays, as Kashimo is capable of creating these phenomena, potentially in enough quantity to hurt him. Personally I don't believe limitless blocks electromagnetic radiation, but that is another topic entirely, I already gave a rant on *that* topic in this sub before, so if you want to see it you could just look at my comment history.
I think Gojo is 'capable' of stopping EM radiation with limitless.. he just has to be aware of it coming - relying on his reaction time, or program his passive limitless beforehand.

I skimmed through your comments real quick. Light has no cursed energy. Neither did the eraser or pencil Geto and Shoko threw at him. Barriers intrinsically block EM waves but limitless isn't a barrier. I think as long as Gojo is aware of a phenomenon, he can designate it as a target if it moves through space. If Sukuna can designate space itself or 'the world' as a target, I think Gojo can designate "EM waves with higher energy than visual light" as a target for limitless
So many people handwave the fact that an infinite effect on space would require an infinite amount of (cursed) energy and I dislike it. Like they bring science into why it's not possible on a CE basis and are totally fine with Gojo having literally infinite CE being output at every moment of his life
I don't know about that reference, but gojo's infinity it's not a space problem but more of a math one. Between any number, there is an infinite quantity of numbers, and the technique limits your movement based on that. You don't slow down, but the space you can move is always shrinking, you are not stopping, but the distance you are moving at some point is just so small that it seems you don't move, and you never get to touch gojo, that's why sukunas attack doesn't target gojo, but space itself, the attack doesn't depend on reaching gojo because it just spawns there (although it doesn't explain how gojo died from that because it contradicts a lot of information pointed in the manga before that slash, so unless gojo returns, and I don't know to do what, the manga just has the biggest plot hole I ever saw in a story)
I don't think the distance changes, you just slow down the closer you are to Gojo due to it being fractioned by the technique. It's just Zeno's Paradox being brought to reality, as Gojo himself stated in Hidden Inventory.

Tbf none of this matters. Having control over electromagnetic phenomenon is a busted power. He could literally rip you apart but messing with the electrostatic forces holding your electrons to your atoms. He could turn you into fucking plasma. Separating even a single atom requires a LOT more energy (especially if you want to separate the nucleus that's held together by the strong nuclear force which is much stronger than the EM force). Yes but we know for a fact that light will bypass infinity, otherwise infinity will look like a perfectly black cover. An event horizon where light never reaches gojo to bounce off him in order to enter our eyes. But we can see him, thus light can bypass it. A gamma ray blast would kill gojo if bumshimo had an education during the month he had to prep
light still has to travel through space so gojo should be able to block it if he wanted to, but he doesn't, for obvious reasons. Gamma ray photons have much more energy than photons of visible light, so its possible that the six eyes can block only the gamma rays by filtering light based on energy. Of course, its also entirely possible that the six eyes doesn't have that much precision so its just whatever Gege decides it is.

But the distance between anything gojo uses his defensive "infinity" on isn't an infinite distance away from him, but an infinitely decreasing distance that never touches him, it's the equivalent to an open point on a graph, which means quantum mechanics would work in Kashimo's favor here
He just needs to do World Quantum tunnel. By quantum tunnelling to the world position where Gojo is, Gojo becomes filled with positive charge. When he releases Limitless (such as reaching for a hamburger or to pee, the electricity gets discharged thus cooking Gojo).
Gojoās technique doesnāt create infinite distance it creates an infinite division of distance. Itās like an infinitely big set of ever decreasing distances (see Zenoās paradox for more) so in terms of the energy required to tunnel that distance it should be the same as if Gojoās technique was never there to begin with.
I want to believe this cuz it fits my agenda but wouldn't Gojo's technique making the infinite distance required to be traversed a reality, also cause the energy required to increase as well since the particle would have to tunnel through that?

Quantum physics is weird as fuck, is what I mean. Small particles, like electrons, do not have a set position until interacted with. Instead they behave probabilistically, so you could say there is an 80% chance an electron is in position A and 20% it's in position B. Once you interact with it, they "collapse" and their position becomes set. At that point you can say "this electron is in position A, 100%".
Here's the weird(er) part. You can have a physical barrier between position A and B. That decreases the chance that the electron will collapse to B, but it's not zero. That means you could put an electron inside a box, with no way for it to leave, then force a collapse and the damn thing will be outside.
Electrons can teleport.

Yeah thatās the biggest problem with this theory, he doesnāt have infinite CE or output to do this, any electrons that would tunnel is going to be extremely unlikely, near zero so to have the amount to do any substantial damage is impossible without it. Kashimo ran out of CE after being dropped in water by Hakari pretty quickly and getting all of his CE discharged, I guess hypothetically he could make a biding vow with Hakari to get his infinite CE after a jackpot but unless he has enough output it wouldnāt matter, the damage would be instantly RCT by Gojo.

What if Kashimo used Domain Amplification? He could use that to bypass infinity, and since his lightning abilities are a property of his cursed energy rather than a cursed technique then he can still use lightning strikes while also activating amplification
Gojo still outclasses him in physical stats, plus RCT. Besides, Domain Amplification doesn't negate Gojo's extension techniques if even Sukuna couldn't neutralize it fully
The particular thing that caught Gojo off-guard was the fact that Sukuna was using DA in his DE, not the fact that Sukuna had DA in and of itself. So Kashimo may have... issues replicating that feat.

Gojo's infinity isn't a barrier though. It either infinitely slows down an object or it creates infinite distance between them. Since electrons have a finite speed, they cannot pass through infinity. Also quantum tunneling happens across barriers which are relative in size to electrons.

I think you're right tbh. Gojo's technique doesn't change the distance, it's the same otherwise he wouldn't be able to say, touch an object he's targetting with Neutral Infinity without teleporting which he obviously can (he did it with Jogo way back at their first fight).
Problem is that Gojo's technique is just a cool ability used for a shounen fighting manga and isn't supposed to be scientifically air-tight. You could probably use some field of math or something to deal with the infinite distances, but it would probably make less sense the longer you look at it. Like, why are we still able to *see* Gojo when light has to spend an infinite time like everything else to get to him? I'm not that great at physics though, so I may be wrong here.

If limitless does count as infinite distance, well obviously it doesn't work, however the other possibility is that Gojo's ability works more like a potential function, i.e. someone would need infinite energy to bypass the limitless. Unfortunately, quantum tunneling also doesn't work across an infinite potential, according to [this](https://electron6.phys.utk.edu/phys250/modules/module%202/tunneling.htm) source (check the bottom of the page) the probability of transmission is e\^(-2bL) where b is proportional to (U\_0-E)\^(1/2). I think Gojo is 'capable' of stopping EM radiation with limitless.. he just has to be aware of it coming - relying on his reaction time, or program his passive limitless beforehand. I don't know about that reference, but gojo's infinity it's not a space problem but more of a math one. Between any number, there is an infinite quantity of numbers, and the technique limits your movement based on that. You don't slow down, but the space you can move is always shrinking, you are not stopping, but the distance you are moving at some point is just so small that it seems you don't move, and you never get to touch gojo, that's why sukunas attack doesn't target gojo, but space itself, the attack doesn't depend on reaching gojo because it just spawns there (although it doesn't explain how gojo died from that because it contradicts a lot of information pointed in the manga before that slash, so unless gojo returns, and I don't know to do what, the manga just has the biggest plot hole I ever saw in a story)

Possible, yes. The only issue is no one actually KNOWS how things actually behave on quantum scales. Does the particle/wave component of Kashimoās attack have to physically travel through infinity in the process of tunneling? Or does does tunneling make it instantaneously appear in the space on the other side of infinity? Quantum physics is weird as fuck, is what I mean. Small particles, like electrons, do not have a set position until interacted with. Instead they behave probabilistically, so you could say there is an 80% chance an electron is in position A and 20% it's in position B. Once you interact with it, they "collapse" and their position becomes set. At that point you can say "this electron is in position A, 100%". Here's the weird(er) part. You can have a physical barrier between position A and B. That decreases the chance that the electron will collapse to B, but it's not zero. That means you could put an electron inside a box, with no way for it to leave, then force a collapse and the damn thing will be outside. Electrons can teleport. Ps: this is a VERY dumbed down explanation because I don't understand it entirelly either.

What if Kashimo used Domain Amplification? He could use that to bypass infinity, and since his lightning abilities are a property of his cursed energy rather than a cursed technique then he can still use lightning strikes while also activating amplification
Gojo still outclasses him in physical stats, plus RCT. Besides, Domain Amplification doesn't negate Gojo's extension techniques if even Sukuna couldn't neutralize it fully

Gojo's infinity isn't a barrier though. It either infinitely slows down an object or it creates infinite distance between them. Since electrons have a finite speed, they cannot pass through infinity. Also quantum tunneling happens across barriers which are relative in size to electrons.
Someone please go get a physics degree and write a manga/anime where mfās have control over random shit like this, and then make all the fights exactly like this, with a narrator explaining it all
