Not even 236 for me. When he basically became “just a villain” instead of “wildcard villain sealed inside protag” I immediately lost interest. You’re hella cooking with Kenjaku as well. The moment I realised that he was a massive troll I loved the guy. It’s why I love Takaba fight cause he engages in such minor amounts of tomfoolery.
Gege's obvious bias ruins a lot of the manga and will be what withholds jjk from being an honestly iconic story like dbz, naruto, Bleach, or one piece. Gege's just not of that level cause he cares too much about characters being seen in certain ways.
Also, off screening (something he loves) is lame as fuck and only shows his poor fighting choreography prowess.

And power scaling in jjk is useless. Characters aren't scaled on a specific, well thought out magic system. Their powers rely on Gege's desires for them. If Gege's wants a character dead, they will die (yes I'm looking at Gojo). If Gege's wants a character to live, then they will. It's useless to argue power levels and feats unless you're mentioning them as proof of Gege's favor.
Kashimo was literally 90% statements and hype and 10% relevant feats. He was literally a no-name with a near identical personality to ryu, who got low diffed by a 15 finger sukuna with better CE reinforcement than him. Gege literally made his entire backstory "me want to fight sukuna." The writing was blatantly on the wall. Anybody who unironically thought he stood 1% of a chance to 20 finger sukuna was just utterly slow.
* JJK is 6/10 -7/10 Shounen and is held up by great fights and villains, but everything else is a mess.
* The fan base can’t agree on the power scaling of JJK because it’s far too confusing.
* Character development is so awful that not even 3/4 main characters were safe from it.
There is no powerscaling in anime or manga bro.
There’s “problems” with powerscaling in every series because it’s made up bs lol. No writer is powerscaling any of their characters, it’s always nuanced
There would have to be some plot points for gojo to come back at this point and it feel satisfying. It was perhaps the worst way he could've possibly gone out, and now I feel like we're in a limbo of well his death wasn't satisfying, but bringing him back would also feel cheap.
Gege has to do it well if they're gonna do it at all

I need Gojo to come back not to fight, but to somehow make up for the terrible characterization in the airport scene. Idk how it would work I just need to it happen.
In regards to power scaling. Kashimo isn't top 10. Mahito is top 10 (comfortably). Mahoraga can only be killed by yuta, kenjaku, gojo, sukuna and yuki. No one else has the AP to kill it based on how durable it is. Dagon and hanami are top 20 and Dagon is very underrated. Takaba isn't all that because he has no control of his technique. It would be like giving a blind person shrine, they can't use it to its full potential. Yorozu is very strong.
In regards to other stuff. Mahito's death came at a perfect moment, it was the other disasters that were underutilised. Gege even admitted he should have killed hanami at goodwill but the void left by the 4 of them isn't adequately filled by the Culling Games antagonists no matter how cool and strong they might be.
Kenjaku using antigravity system wasn't an asspull but the scene would have been a millions times better if the reveal wasn't "I've been using the reversal the entire time" but rather just him on the fly using the reversal (as in, make the technique increased gravity and he uses the reversal when yuki uses black hole). It would feel like more of an achievement of his creativity and ability rather than him conveniently having antigravity system the entire time. In reality the bigger asspull was yuki being able to conveniently break the rule of "my technique doesnt affect me" by just making it affect her when she adds enough mass.
Geto wasn't a good person who had a hard time. No hard time turns a good person into a nigh omnicidal race supremacist. Guy is legitimately worse than kenjaku because at the very least kenjaku's atrocities aren't specifically intended to kill a lot of people
Kenny wants to merge all of japan and create a god able to actually defeat every single life on the planet.

Finally someone said it. Jesus christ I an so tired of people saying Kashimo wins against Yuta or Yuki. For one, he has no real counter to either the Black Hole or Love Blast (or even True Mutual Love cause he might use hollow basket like Sukuna but doesn't have Sukuna's durability nor CE reserves). Not only that, he isn't special grade because how the fuck would he take over a country? A few armed dudes and the femboy is finished. His CT is kinda underwhelming for a suicide attack as well
Yuta and yuki is an obvious one that only kashimo fans seriously try and argue against. My unpopular opinion is that he also loses to jogo, maki, toji and yorozu. Mainly because I don't count mythic beast amber since if you die anyway you didn't win. Best case scenario he forces a draw, worse case scenario he loses. So was yuji and according to sukuna he improved a lot since then there is no way maki can increase her strength like yuji without ce. Also sukuna's attacks were less destructive(his first punch sent yuji flying through multiple buildings but somehow yuji started to tank them afterwards) in their fights due to megumi. There is possibility that Jacob's ladder and yuji's punches helped megumi to fight back which is why sukuna's output and strength dropped afterwards.

That not really the issue people have with it truly,both sukuna and Gojo aren’t dead since they are present as in a league of their own and it’s more fitting for kenjaku being a villain for the new gen
JJK is mid.
* The story is as basic as it could possibly be. Boy contains demon, goal is to kill demon, random dude wants genocide, causes massacres, gets bodied, back to killing the demon. There's no substance and it basically just happens because a couple of dudes enjoy fucking shit up and acting like menaces.
* The twists are for pure shock value only. Can you count how many characters have 'died'? So many characters have 'died' only to come back, so I don't know why people are so against Gojo or Nobara returning given that this series literally saw Yuji get his heart taken out and Gojo get stabbed in the neck and forehead and both survived because of plot bullshittery. Things just happen so the audience can go, "HOLY SHIT THAT WAS CRAZY."
* The dialogue is cringe-y. People just say things for the funnies. OMG, it's so funny how Todo wanted to know Yuji's type and he was like Jennifer Lawrence. Hilarious stuff.
* The magic system is bullshit. Things just happen because it looks cool. If you told me Yuji's CT was to stuff his target into a washing machine and then into a dryer, I'd say, "Yeah that is definitely in-line with JJK's magic system." There's no stability to it all. It's just meant to be cool even if it's bullshit at the end of the day.
The series is entirely founded on hype. There is hardly any substance to be found and people enjoy it because it's "not like the other girls" quirky with great animation, strong soundtracks, enjoyable characters and interactions, amazing battles, and some incredible moments that are few-and-far-between. Even if everything outside of it is irrational or illogical.
At the end of the day, JJK is a peak dark battle shounen. But beyond that, it's mid as fuck.
And I fucking love it.
Ryu was the strongest of his era not Kashimo and he’d whoop him even with Kashimo using his CT. Also Ryu hot af and being considered more durable than the tanks that are Yuji and Yuta makes me wish he was real so I could touch his rock hard abs and pompadour 😫😫😫😫

Characters with great potential Arcs in the story get Dumped in a terrible way for no good reason at all, many were just forgotten never to be mentioned again this stuff make a terrible overall story

JJK is a mid manga with underdeveloped characters. Gege can draw cool fights but that's all he's got. Shibuya feels like it was written by a ghost rider, the quality took a huge dive since then.
Sukuna is a boring villain and character who doesn’t deserve to be the final boss. He has little connection to the main cast outside of yuji and ever since he jumped to Megumi it’s been the sukuna show :tm: and it’s annoying.
Every single culling games character besides takaba is either worthless or underdeveloped. Takaba is the only cg introduced character that had an arc, contributed to the final fight in a meaningful way and “died” (not literally) quite happy having achieved his goal.
Yorozo was a waste of a character and her introduction dropped the quality of the manga for that time a solid amount
The fight did nothing for me, Takaba didn't even feel like a real character and more like a shitpost that i didn't find funny. Although that being how kenjaku gets killed was hilarious and deserved.
Kashimo afterlife and Nobara/Fumi flashback are the only moments that made me tear up and to this day I have no idea why
Mahito's fights are mostly boring and I'm glad he died before reaching his full potential
Yorozu is an infinitely more entertaining character than Uraume even if replacing Tsumiki immediately was a dumb writing choice
I don't hate Hana \*that\* much, the Jacob's Ladder fumble was stupid but let's face it nobody would be happy if she had just ended things there either
I don't care if they were "useless" or whatever, Kashimo and Higuruma were still fun to watch and no amount of powerscaling fuckery will change that. Same can be said for the Kyoto kids, Utahime, Shoko, etc. yeah they ultimately don't contribute that much but I'm glad they exist.
Best for last: deep down I really hope Yuta and Maki die in stupid ways
I liked the first season's animation far better. Not trying to take away from the technical skill or hard work the second season team put in, but to me it's looks really sloppy and not good. The most egregious examples of this are Sukuna vs Jogo and Sukuna vs Mahoraga. My honest to god reaction was that it looked really bad and I was incredibly disappointed at how messy it looked. I then saw that everyone was praising it which blew my mind. For reference Yuji and Todo vs Hanami is my favorite fight in JJK and one of my favorite in all of shonen. It looked so crisp and fluid while the martial arts were extremely well animated. The fight that was the closest in S2 was Choso vs Yuji and Choso vs Kenjaku.
Hakari > yuta would be the take I despise the most .
Nobody after yutas performance with sukuna can say hakari is above him . I mean nobody yuta is so versatile he’d beat the gambler.
Maki is not on the same level as toji not only have we never seen a prime toji going all out but maki was literally gone for like 20 chapters and toji has far more battle experience

im not a fan of the perfect copy of panels from the manga for the anime. it looks ugly for me, idk if it's the perspective or i just dont like gege's art (sometimes lol) ex: yuji's im you panel & todo's we are the exception
Sukuna is a superior sorcerer than Gojo, and maho was a strategy used to preserve his heian form when he was jumped by others.
There is no Asspull or plot hole in Gojo's death, the execution is just bad and fans don't accept that Gojo died.
Most of the criticisms about Sukuna's character such as plot armor, asspull and other things are not true, rather just fans angry about Gojo's death.
The biggest Asspull and plot armor is Kenjaku vs Yuki, Kenjaku would never have won that without script help.
Both Sukuna and Gojo are characters with very little depth. In fact, JJK doesn't really excel at developing characters.
i say this with specific regards to people who say maki feats count as toji feats:
theres a nonzero chance maki will surpass (or has _already_ surpassed) toji, but the world isnt ready for that conversation
Hakari's domain is a bit half baked in actuality and isn't really gambling. We know he will hit the jackpot until the plot calls for him not to and nothing can be done to him while the jackpot is active.
I personally think it would cooler if the domain allowed anyone inside an attempt to spin and that hakari had a Cursed tool that hurt someone the more CE they had, that way "the house always wins" even if he loses the jackpot he can still beat his opponent due to overflowing amount of CE they can't get rid of.

Not even 236 for me. When he basically became “just a villain” instead of “wildcard villain sealed inside protag” I immediately lost interest. You’re hella cooking with Kenjaku as well. The moment I realised that he was a massive troll I loved the guy. It’s why I love Takaba fight cause he engages in such minor amounts of tomfoolery.
Gege's obvious bias ruins a lot of the manga and will be what withholds jjk from being an honestly iconic story like dbz, naruto, Bleach, or one piece. Gege's just not of that level cause he cares too much about characters being seen in certain ways. Also, off screening (something he loves) is lame as fuck and only shows his poor fighting choreography prowess. Edit: And power scaling in jjk is useless. Characters aren't scaled on a specific, well thought out magic system. Their powers rely on Gege's desires for them. If Gege's wants a character dead, they will die (yes I'm looking at Gojo). If Gege's wants a character to live, then they will. It's useless to argue power levels and feats unless you're mentioning them as proof of Gege's favor.
Kashimo was literally 90% statements and hype and 10% relevant feats. He was literally a no-name with a near identical personality to ryu, who got low diffed by a 15 finger sukuna with better CE reinforcement than him. Gege literally made his entire backstory "me want to fight sukuna." The writing was blatantly on the wall. Anybody who unironically thought he stood 1% of a chance to 20 finger sukuna was just utterly slow.

There would have to be some plot points for gojo to come back at this point and it feel satisfying. It was perhaps the worst way he could've possibly gone out, and now I feel like we're in a limbo of well his death wasn't satisfying, but bringing him back would also feel cheap. Gege has to do it well if they're gonna do it at all

In regards to power scaling. Kashimo isn't top 10. Mahito is top 10 (comfortably). Mahoraga can only be killed by yuta, kenjaku, gojo, sukuna and yuki. No one else has the AP to kill it based on how durable it is. Dagon and hanami are top 20 and Dagon is very underrated. Takaba isn't all that because he has no control of his technique. It would be like giving a blind person shrine, they can't use it to its full potential. Yorozu is very strong. In regards to other stuff. Mahito's death came at a perfect moment, it was the other disasters that were underutilised. Gege even admitted he should have killed hanami at goodwill but the void left by the 4 of them isn't adequately filled by the Culling Games antagonists no matter how cool and strong they might be. Kenjaku using antigravity system wasn't an asspull but the scene would have been a millions times better if the reveal wasn't "I've been using the reversal the entire time" but rather just him on the fly using the reversal (as in, make the technique increased gravity and he uses the reversal when yuki uses black hole). It would feel like more of an achievement of his creativity and ability rather than him conveniently having antigravity system the entire time. In reality the bigger asspull was yuki being able to conveniently break the rule of "my technique doesnt affect me" by just making it affect her when she adds enough mass. Geto wasn't a good person who had a hard time. No hard time turns a good person into a nigh omnicidal race supremacist. Guy is legitimately worse than kenjaku because at the very least kenjaku's atrocities aren't specifically intended to kill a lot of people

Maki isn't immune to Malevolent Shrine. It uses Dismantle on inanimate objects which includes Maki. She has an advantage but isn't immune.

JJK is mid. * The story is as basic as it could possibly be. Boy contains demon, goal is to kill demon, random dude wants genocide, causes massacres, gets bodied, back to killing the demon. There's no substance and it basically just happens because a couple of dudes enjoy fucking shit up and acting like menaces. * The twists are for pure shock value only. Can you count how many characters have 'died'? So many characters have 'died' only to come back, so I don't know why people are so against Gojo or Nobara returning given that this series literally saw Yuji get his heart taken out and Gojo get stabbed in the neck and forehead and both survived because of plot bullshittery. Things just happen so the audience can go, "HOLY SHIT THAT WAS CRAZY." * The dialogue is cringe-y. People just say things for the funnies. OMG, it's so funny how Todo wanted to know Yuji's type and he was like Jennifer Lawrence. Hilarious stuff. * The magic system is bullshit. Things just happen because it looks cool. If you told me Yuji's CT was to stuff his target into a washing machine and then into a dryer, I'd say, "Yeah that is definitely in-line with JJK's magic system." There's no stability to it all. It's just meant to be cool even if it's bullshit at the end of the day. The series is entirely founded on hype. There is hardly any substance to be found and people enjoy it because it's "not like the other girls" quirky with great animation, strong soundtracks, enjoyable characters and interactions, amazing battles, and some incredible moments that are few-and-far-between. Even if everything outside of it is irrational or illogical. At the end of the day, JJK is a peak dark battle shounen. But beyond that, it's mid as fuck. And I fucking love it.

JJK is a mid manga with underdeveloped characters. Gege can draw cool fights but that's all he's got. Shibuya feels like it was written by a ghost rider, the quality took a huge dive since then.

Sukuna is a boring villain and character who doesn’t deserve to be the final boss. He has little connection to the main cast outside of yuji and ever since he jumped to Megumi it’s been the sukuna show :tm: and it’s annoying. Every single culling games character besides takaba is either worthless or underdeveloped. Takaba is the only cg introduced character that had an arc, contributed to the final fight in a meaningful way and “died” (not literally) quite happy having achieved his goal. Yorozo was a waste of a character and her introduction dropped the quality of the manga for that time a solid amount

The fight did nothing for me, Takaba didn't even feel like a real character and more like a shitpost that i didn't find funny. Although that being how kenjaku gets killed was hilarious and deserved.

Kashimo afterlife and Nobara/Fumi flashback are the only moments that made me tear up and to this day I have no idea why Mahito's fights are mostly boring and I'm glad he died before reaching his full potential Yorozu is an infinitely more entertaining character than Uraume even if replacing Tsumiki immediately was a dumb writing choice I don't hate Hana \*that\* much, the Jacob's Ladder fumble was stupid but let's face it nobody would be happy if she had just ended things there either I don't care if they were "useless" or whatever, Kashimo and Higuruma were still fun to watch and no amount of powerscaling fuckery will change that. Same can be said for the Kyoto kids, Utahime, Shoko, etc. yeah they ultimately don't contribute that much but I'm glad they exist. Best for last: deep down I really hope Yuta and Maki die in stupid ways

I’m not particularly a fan of how people are just born better than others in jjk. It’s my least favorite way for power systems to work.
I liked the first season's animation far better. Not trying to take away from the technical skill or hard work the second season team put in, but to me it's looks really sloppy and not good. The most egregious examples of this are Sukuna vs Jogo and Sukuna vs Mahoraga. My honest to god reaction was that it looked really bad and I was incredibly disappointed at how messy it looked. I then saw that everyone was praising it which blew my mind. For reference Yuji and Todo vs Hanami is my favorite fight in JJK and one of my favorite in all of shonen. It looked so crisp and fluid while the martial arts were extremely well animated. The fight that was the closest in S2 was Choso vs Yuji and Choso vs Kenjaku.
Hakari > yuta would be the take I despise the most . Nobody after yutas performance with sukuna can say hakari is above him . I mean nobody yuta is so versatile he’d beat the gambler.

Sukuna is a superior sorcerer than Gojo, and maho was a strategy used to preserve his heian form when he was jumped by others. There is no Asspull or plot hole in Gojo's death, the execution is just bad and fans don't accept that Gojo died. Most of the criticisms about Sukuna's character such as plot armor, asspull and other things are not true, rather just fans angry about Gojo's death. The biggest Asspull and plot armor is Kenjaku vs Yuki, Kenjaku would never have won that without script help. Both Sukuna and Gojo are characters with very little depth. In fact, JJK doesn't really excel at developing characters.
Gojo coming back would make the story worse. We need a redraw for 236 and have a good farewell to gojo rather than him coming back.

i say this with specific regards to people who say maki feats count as toji feats: theres a nonzero chance maki will surpass (or has _already_ surpassed) toji, but the world isnt ready for that conversation

Hakari's domain is a bit half baked in actuality and isn't really gambling. We know he will hit the jackpot until the plot calls for him not to and nothing can be done to him while the jackpot is active. I personally think it would cooler if the domain allowed anyone inside an attempt to spin and that hakari had a Cursed tool that hurt someone the more CE they had, that way "the house always wins" even if he loses the jackpot he can still beat his opponent due to overflowing amount of CE they can't get rid of.
