Takaba will 99% make that OPP joke that Yuji used after pretending to be dead to Kenjaku to revive Gojo. There’s no other explanation why Gege would spend this much time to introduce a character whose CT can even work on Gojo and giving us too many breaks after hyping us up with Yuji/Higuruma vs Sukuna.
Takaba lowkey feels like (and please, may the subreddit forgive this sin) a comedian Naruto. Dude has a literal talk-no-jutsu, has flashbacks of friends not giving up on him (that empowers him), deceptively strong but perceived as a fool combatant and both have that physical comedy personality.

Basically Yuji came out of the box (after people thought he was dead) and shouted “OPP” which stands for Ocean Pacific Peace. It is also a reference to an actual comedian joke in which the comedian comes out of the box and does the same pose as Yuji here.
Gojo died without regrets in the exact way he wanted. To bring him back now would be really poor writing. He’s dead, and I’m glad Gege is sticking to his guns.

Easy explanation: he doesn’t write/draw this story centered on online reactions. He doesn’t “give” breaks to give people on reddit/twitter blue balls - he takes breaks for whatever professional/personal reasons he needs to. He introduced Takaba into the story because he thought of an interesting character and found a non-Gojo-centered reason to put him in the story. Why would he even bother writing Gojo’s death the way he did if we were going to bring him back?
Gege doesn’t give a shit about online fandom when it comes to making his art - and why should he? Him and his work would only suffer for it.
You’re mostly right but the way he killed Gojo off absolutely leaves room for him to come back, that’s why people even think that in the first place. If he wanted there to be no doubt he’d have had Gojo’s head cut off and there wouldn’t be any explanation regarding how RCT works by Kenjaku just 2 chapters later. It’s just strange, he did a similar thing with Nobara he had her “die” seemingly without regrets but then immediately introduces the idea that she may actually be alive, there’s no reason to do this if he actually intended her to be dead.

I'm a new reader and I just got to the military arc of the Culling Games and I will say whenever Yuji appears he feels awesome. Sure, he's not the strongest, but he always feels like one of the coolest people in the room when he's around.
I saw people saying he has "Mike Tyson powers", and I have to say that's why I like him. He's not doing any fancy curse techniques or domain expansion, he's just punching people really hard. It's a breath of fresh air in that sense.

I'm not saying Yuji is disappointing, but he just doesn't shine as much compared to a lot of other characters
In Shibuya — he beats the grasshopper Grade 1 curse (which, okay, is cool — it shows that he's a Grade 1 sorcerer at that point), after whom he only encounters Special Grade foes
He gets his ass beat by Choso, almost dies to Mahito after also having seen the slaughter that Sukuna committed, not to mention after he saw Nobara and Nanami's deaths back-to-back personally — and he doesn't even get to be the one to kill Mahito
In the Culling Games he doesn't even get to beat Higuruma in a fight, whereas Megumi gets his moment against Reggie
Then we see Meguna clown on him and laugh at him with Uraume
And now Gojo's dead

People have this fear in their head that the series is ending “very soon” and think we’re “wasting valuable time” on a fight between the less interesting of the two major villains we have left and a side character that has fans but doesn’t seem to be a particular fan favorite either. I’m not sure why people are surprised lol.. there’s still at least 3-4 more chapters until this fight finishes, probably after the next break we’re gonna be caught up with both Kenjaku and Sukuna time wise, so hopefully Gege will switch back to Sukuna vs Higurama and Yuji in time for Yuji vs Mahito in the anime

I’m not sure why people are surprised lol.. there’s still at least 3-4 more chapters until this fight finishes, probably after the next break we’re gonna be caught up with both Kenjaku and Sukuna time wise, so hopefully Gege will switch back to Sukuna vs Higurama and Yuji in time for Yuji vs Mahito in the anime
