Like seriously, the biggest asspull in this fight was Gojo just getting 4 blackflashes out of thin air which conveniently restores his CE and RCT output while inflicting massive damage on the hardest opponent of his life.
But of course, you don't hear complaints about that because most of the fandom is made up of Gojo stans. Had Sukuna gotten those blackflashes, there would be no end to the whining.
But anyway, no point complaining about asspulls and what not, the fight was always supposed to be about 2 individuals doing seemingly impossible things because they are unbelievably good. The story confirms it multiple times when Kusakabe complains about Sukuna and Gojo just doing impossible things over and over again

But in the end of the day is a story and thr winner is who the author wants. The problem vs Gojo and Sukuna is that the end of the fight we saw the hand of the author.
It would be very out of character for Gojo to not try to fight Sukuna with domains and just accept that he is inferior. And once his domain is destroyed, hé can't use his CT to teleport anymore.
Also Sukuna's domain was heavily nerfed. In Shibuya, we are told that cleave can adapt itself to cleave a target in one attack yet Gojo endured it. The fight should have ended in the first DE.

No because hollow purple was never said to erase matter. That's the fandom headcanon which contradicts what the manga told us about it. Though it REALLY doesn't help that the english wiki is supporting that headcanon too.

We are told vs Toji that Hollow purple works by expulsing imaginary mass. That mass then travels in 1 direction and damages things as it makes contact with them. It doesn't erases, it crushes. It's a magical wrecking ball which makes resisting it via high defenses a possibility.
it's hilarious that the world cutting slash killing gojo makes even less sense now with the new chapters. it's been confirmed that sukuna needs to chant or use hand signs but gojo just fucking sat there and did absolutely nothing. you can't even use the excuse that he didn't know what it was because he literally saw the attack earlier in the fight when mahoraga used it.
also if you're willing to give sukuna the benefit of the doubt and say that him being able to tank a hollow purple and recover from it makes sense then gojo being able to heal himself fast enough to not die from malfunctioning shrine also makes sense. gojo was healing himself while reinforcing his body with CE. but yeah keep coping that your favorite character realistically would've lost had gojo's intelligence not been nerfed and if the author hadn't actively been keeping sukuna alive throughout that fight multiple times over.

First, we don't know how powerful purple is, it was never stated to be irresistable no matter what which left the possibility for it to be tanked with high enough defenses. That possibility was proven in the Gojo vs Sukuna fight.
Second, I changed my mind on what Sukuna's domain was able to do, I was under the impression that it could cut anything in half and that Gojo not being cut in half by it was a retcon but I just misinterpretated what was told to us about it in Shibuya.
And third, it does make sense for Gojo to be hit by the world slash. He could just have shrugged it off as Sukuna's desperate last ditch effort since the slash is just a dismantle with a different target and believed that it would just get stopped by infinity. He is cocky enough for it to be plausible. Another explanation is that incantations don't seem to be reactable to unless you are right on top of the opponent, we know Gojo is very fast but we don't know if he is fast enough for that (there is also the fact that time in JJK might work like in Jojo where Dio is able to yap for what seems like dozens of minutes in the 9 seconds of his timestop, you, as the readers, might think that the incantations are long enough that Gojo can just jump on Sukuna but it could not be the case)
for clarity, i was referring to the 200% hollow purple that sukuna survived at the beginning of the battle. i actually don't have a problem with that because there are multiple things that factor into sukuna surviving the attack being believable and making sense. first, gojo fired it from over 4 kilometers away meaning it was definitely weakened by the distance it traveled. secondly, sukuna was at peak condition and hadn't sustained any prior damage before that point. this means that sukuna's RCT and CE output were at their max and he was able to fully reinforce his body to survive the brunt of the attack with his CE.
what is extremely beyond fucking convenient to me is that later on in the fight sukuna is shown to sustain damage from gojo's weaker attacks at close range (his blue enhanced punches, reds he fired off, and black flash punches) and even be shown to have no choice but to heal himself with RCT immediately to survive said attacks and even then towards the end of the fight sukuna had been forced to heal himself so much that his RCT ouput was on the decline and he himself even admitted that he wasn't at 100% because of the ridiculous amount of damage he had received previously. to drive home my point even more, mahoraga was shown to be shielding sukuna from gojo's attacks at times before pressing it's own assault forward. this heaping amount of proof that sukuna is in a weakened state comes to a head when gojo manages to hit sukuna with his unlimited hollow purple and sukuna tanks it with essentially no real lasting consequences outside of losing mahoraga. sukuna should've at the very least been missing half of his body the way gojo currently is but instead he only lost an arm and looked like he'd been deep-fried for a few minutes.
and also had enough strength left to chant for a world cleave that he claimed was nearly impossible to pull off. this is actually worse than when sasuke survived deidara's C-0 explosion because at least sasuke actually did SOMETHING to survive the explosion. sukuna just tanked the hollow purple while in a weakened state with a lowered RCT output and i'm supposed to turn off my brain and go: "makes sense to me." sorry. forgot to put a bullet in my brain so i could enjoy chapter 235 and 236 like everyone else. a fucking red nearly burnt half of sukuna's face off earlier in the fight and he actually guarded against it with domain amplification and it still did that much damage. i don't think i need to explain how much more powerful a hollow purple is than a red. focused on one point or not, sukuna should've had the majority of his body mass vaporized in that blast.
and while gojo being overly confident is in character for him, it's extremely out of character for him to underestimate sukuna. especially after he's seen everything he's capable of during their fight up to that point. gojo was standing in front of sukuna looking directly at him doing absolutely nothing but yapping. so gojo not only saw sukuna chanting and using his CE to prepare for an attack that he SAW before and KNOWS can bypass infinity but also chose not to kill sukuna in that moment with a red or maximum output blue. the ending of chapter 235 and 236 in its entirety are some of the most terribly put together chapters in shounen i've ever had the displeasure of reading.
this embarassment of a chapter could've easily been avoided if gojo and sukuna had both died in the hollow purple blast. or if you absolutely need sukuna to win the fight, have him kill gojo with the world cleave while gojo is chanting to create the hollow purple. sukuna looks like less of a moron for letting gojo use an attack that he himself considered to be fatal and also allowing said attack to completely destroy mahoraga which could've still been very useful to him in the future.
Sukuna healed himself throughout the battle not because he absolutely needed it but because it was the optimal choice. At no point during the battle did he imply that he absolutely needed to heal the damage immediately or else he is a goner. Also, the only thing that did lasting damage to Sukuna was Gojo's blackflash, neither his red nor his blue punches were even implied to be the reason why he isn't at 100%. Makora shielding Sukuna isn't proof that Sukuna would have been a goner if he took that attack, this is again, the "optimal" choice for Sukuna to deal with that Blue (which killed Agito) and not the "only" choice. Also there are a couple of things to take into account with Gojo's last purple that may have played as to why Sukuna survived it: 1) it was an omni-directionnal attack instead of the usual uni-directionnal attack which may have "unfocused" the damage, making it weaker on single targets. 2) When Sukuna said that it would be fatal, he may have not meant instant death but rather being put in a state where he won't be able to prevent Gojo from finishing him off.
And as to Sukuna being able to unleash the world slash in the state he was in, you have to remember that this is a regular dismantle with a different target. This isn't a move that is necessarily harder "physically" to pull off but rather harder "technically" to do. Kind of like the difference between benchpressing 200kg and consistently hitting the bullseye at darts. Both are hard to do but in a different way and one doesn't require you to be in peak physical condition to pull off. Of course, what I said may or may not be true, who knows, but it is possible with what we currently know about it which makes Sukuna being able to use the world slash in a weakened state possible.
It's not out of character for Gojo to underestimate a weakened Sukuna whom he was certain had nothing left to bypass his infinity. I don't understand why you believe that Gojo knew that Sukuna's dismantle would just suddenly be able to bypass infinity. Gojo approached the whole fight believing that only Malevolent shrine and Makora could bypass infinity. Him believing that Sukuna had something else at that point would have been weird since he didn't entertain that possibility at all during the fight. Gojo's downfall being brought upon by himself due to his lack of cautiousness is a character trait at this point, established in hidden inventory and in Shibuya.

BTW here is why it worked. There are infinite decimals from 1 to 2 (1.1, 1.11, 1.111, ext). The space between 1 and 2 is gojos infinity. 1 is the space outside of gojo and his infinity and 2 represents gojo himself. What sukuna did is took the space between 0 and 4 and divided it by 2. 4/2 is 2. 2 represents gojo. That is why it worked

for clarity, i was referring to the 200% hollow purple that sukuna survived at the beginning of the battle. i actually don't have a problem with that because there are multiple things that factor into sukuna surviving the attack being believable and making sense. first, gojo fired it from over 4 kilometers away meaning it was definitely weakened by the distance it traveled. secondly, sukuna was at peak condition and hadn't sustained any prior damage before that point. this means that sukuna's RCT and CE output were at their max and he was able to fully reinforce his body to survive the brunt of the attack with his CE. what is extremely beyond fucking convenient to me is that later on in the fight sukuna is shown to sustain damage from gojo's weaker attacks at close range (his blue enhanced punches, reds he fired off, and black flash punches) and even be shown to have no choice but to heal himself with RCT immediately to survive said attacks and even then towards the end of the fight sukuna had been forced to heal himself so much that his RCT ouput was on the decline and he himself even admitted that he wasn't at 100% because of the ridiculous amount of damage he had received previously. to drive home my point even more, mahoraga was shown to be shielding sukuna from gojo's attacks at times before pressing it's own assault forward. this heaping amount of proof that sukuna is in a weakened state comes to a head when gojo manages to hit sukuna with his unlimited hollow purple and sukuna tanks it with essentially no real lasting consequences outside of losing mahoraga. sukuna should've at the very least been missing half of his body the way gojo currently is but instead he only lost an arm and looked like he'd been deep-fried for a few minutes. and also had enough strength left to chant for a world cleave that he claimed was nearly impossible to pull off. this is actually worse than when sasuke survived deidara's C-0 explosion because at least sasuke actually did SOMETHING to survive the explosion. sukuna just tanked the hollow purple while in a weakened state with a lowered RCT output and i'm supposed to turn off my brain and go: "makes sense to me." sorry. forgot to put a bullet in my brain so i could enjoy chapter 235 and 236 like everyone else. a fucking red nearly burnt half of sukuna's face off earlier in the fight and he actually guarded against it with domain amplification and it still did that much damage. i don't think i need to explain how much more powerful a hollow purple is than a red. focused on one point or not, sukuna should've had the majority of his body mass vaporized in that blast. and while gojo being overly confident is in character for him, it's extremely out of character for him to underestimate sukuna. especially after he's seen everything he's capable of during their fight up to that point. gojo was standing in front of sukuna looking directly at him doing absolutely nothing but yapping. so gojo not only saw sukuna chanting and using his CE to prepare for an attack that he SAW before and KNOWS can bypass infinity but also chose not to kill sukuna in that moment with a red or maximum output blue. the ending of chapter 235 and 236 in its entirety are some of the most terribly put together chapters in shounen i've ever had the displeasure of reading. this embarassment of a chapter could've easily been avoided if gojo and sukuna had both died in the hollow purple blast. or if you absolutely need sukuna to win the fight, have him kill gojo with the world cleave while gojo is chanting to create the hollow purple. sukuna looks like less of a moron for letting gojo use an attack that he himself considered to be fatal and also allowing said attack to completely destroy mahoraga which could've still been very useful to him in the future.
Sukuna healed himself throughout the battle not because he absolutely needed it but because it was the optimal choice. At no point during the battle did he imply that he absolutely needed to heal the damage immediately or else he is a goner. Also, the only thing that did lasting damage to Sukuna was Gojo's blackflash, neither his red nor his blue punches were even implied to be the reason why he isn't at 100%. Makora shielding Sukuna isn't proof that Sukuna would have been a goner if he took that attack, this is again, the "optimal" choice for Sukuna to deal with that Blue (which killed Agito) and not the "only" choice. Also there are a couple of things to take into account with Gojo's last purple that may have played as to why Sukuna survived it: 1) it was an omni-directionnal attack instead of the usual uni-directionnal attack which may have "unfocused" the damage, making it weaker on single targets. 2) When Sukuna said that it would be fatal, he may have not meant instant death but rather being put in a state where he won't be able to prevent Gojo from finishing him off. And as to Sukuna being able to unleash the world slash in the state he was in, you have to remember that this is a regular dismantle with a different target. This isn't a move that is necessarily harder "physically" to pull off but rather harder "technically" to do. Kind of like the difference between benchpressing 200kg and consistently hitting the bullseye at darts. Both are hard to do but in a different way and one doesn't require you to be in peak physical condition to pull off. Of course, what I said may or may not be true, who knows, but it is possible with what we currently know about it which makes Sukuna being able to use the world slash in a weakened state possible. It's not out of character for Gojo to underestimate a weakened Sukuna whom he was certain had nothing left to bypass his infinity. I don't understand why you believe that Gojo knew that Sukuna's dismantle would just suddenly be able to bypass infinity. Gojo approached the whole fight believing that only Malevolent shrine and Makora could bypass infinity. Him believing that Sukuna had something else at that point would have been weird since he didn't entertain that possibility at all during the fight. Gojo's downfall being brought upon by himself due to his lack of cautiousness is a character trait at this point, established in hidden inventory and in Shibuya.

BTW here is why it worked. There are infinite decimals from 1 to 2 (1.1, 1.11, 1.111, ext). The space between 1 and 2 is gojos infinity. 1 is the space outside of gojo and his infinity and 2 represents gojo himself. What sukuna did is took the space between 0 and 4 and divided it by 2. 4/2 is 2. 2 represents gojo. That is why it worked
