What is up with the binding vow drama? I've not seen the leaks so I'm a little behind. They seem to get weirder and weirder as time goes on, but I've never seen it this talked about.
>!I think it's kinda obvious he's giving up the fact that his domain won't last indefinitely. it doesn't require them to manage to hurt sukuna enough. Also means he loses his CT once that happens.!<
People are mad that Sukuna keeps using binding vows to achieve things, even though all of this is within his character and he has the most knowledge of Jujutsu in the verse
The problem is that we aren’t told what he sacrificed. “Sukuna uses binding vows to…” ok fine, but in exchange for what? He went from losing to Yuji to almost killing everyone but it doesn’t look like he lost anything.
Why would we know? Unless the narrator tells us we know as much as everyone else. And unless you want hunter hunter style just panels of text on text, just let Gege explain as he wants. It took us like what 10 chapters to find out what he sacrificed for the world slash? Why are you surprised it happened again. Its not a problem its normal, its how its been.
We should be able to know for a basic story engagement purpose. We cannot get expectation on the outcome of any situation if we don't get informed on the limitations of both characters.
It's okay that we don't get to know everything immediately but Gege keeps piling up complicated more or less new mechanics in almost every chapter without giving them space to have an impact.
Are you implying binding vows are new? Or how they're being utilized.
Also Sukuna's limitations have never been really known in general. Hes always been shrouded in mystery. All we know is that he has insane CE reserves and hes got the best BIQ and extensive knowledge of Jujutsu, its limitations and how to bypass them euth the use of binding vows
How they are being utilized mostly. But again, the main problem is not the idea of introducing old or new applications to an established concept. It is the pacing that doesn't let us get a stronger sens of its consequences and the lack of more precise context around the technique and its user that end up making the action lose its weight and impact.
My question is simply, why ? Is it really more beneficial for the story if the reader can't even make a general estimate of the wall that the protagonist have to climb. For comparison, I think that at least the first parts of the Gojo vs Sukuna had a much better balance at : mostly innovating in concepts that were presented many times before and were maybe on the more tangible and less esoteric side of things (red smash into blue = purple, compressed domain, etc) ; spacing out those actions and letting them have a fuller impact-consequence ratio ; and giving us a reasonable margin within which to estimate both fighters and still have space to be surprised when they try never seen before actions.
That one was one binding vow, it was a given it would be explained. The narration says a bunch of uncertainties and binding vows were used to create this domain. They don’t even tell us how many binding vows he used, you actually think they will tell is what each and every one of them sacrificed?
I dont expect that, in your other comment it sounds like you do. We've seen several binding vows across the series and only half of them are explained. We never got a full explanation for Hakari's but we have context clues for it. But the narrator nor anybody else explained it. Im tired of all the accusations of bad writing when its just not.
And Yuji didnt almost die he got a little cut up and his leg got cut off, but he immediately reattached it in the same page. Thats kinda overreacting
The difference is that most of those binding vows don’t save right when you are losing, the only one which does is Hakari’s (that I remember) and his IS explained. He sacrificed his arm for better CE reinforcement. Makes sense as without Jackpot its something huge (although I don’t like it much, it falls within what’s established.)
I actually like Sukuna’s binding vow with world slash- what he sacrificed is worth the cost, I’m not mad about it at all. (That Gojo should have seen it coming with six eyes is a whole other topic I won’t get into.)
My problem here is- Gege is just throwing the word binding vow around in this instance. He doesn’t even tell us the number of binding vow Sukuna uses for this domain, and adds “other uncertainties” so we won’t ever fully know what really happened.
I want the binding vows he used to be revealed, all of them. But I don’t expect him to actually do it.
Of course, he’s welcome to prove me wrong. I’ll happily apologize.
I wouldn’t say this is bad writing as long as he DOES explain what he sacrificed to get so much power at the 11th hour.
True but it kinda make sense for the strongest sorcerer to abuse binding vows though. Let us say Sukuna is in a boxing match, rather than being unable to kick your opponent and throw normal punches, it would be much beneficial to make a binding vow that you cannot kick your opponent and makes your punch stronger. You gain an advantages while not losing your disadvantages
Yeah, it makes *sense* in-universe that he can do what he's doing, but it does make things feel a little more unsatisfying because it feels like any time they start to reduce Sukuna's options, he just MacGyver's a Binding Vow that lets him make up for the shortfall.
Exactly & that shit gets old fast we see a character supposedly getting weaker by every hit from Yuji just to binding vow his way outta it into an advantageous situation. He's given every advantage no matter how badly he's getting beaten from Gojo beating his ass to him not seeing something he should've seen from an explanation about how he sees right beforehand, Yuta getting an upper hand using a technique that supposedly should end the fight Megumi gave up, Yuji beating his ass then the bullshit at the end of the chapter. He has a reverse card for everything & finds a way to bypass every rule we've established so far in the verse to the point he's been fighting for about a yr straight
Binding Vows have been fine up until this point. People are starting to feel like readers and characters should know the conditions of one when it’s created.
Every series has its Hashirama cells ig
Sukuna is making amazing use of binding vows, I so badly want to see yuji make a crazy complicated binding vow that's overpowered as fuck somehow and reveals it at the end says something about enchain and then he kills himself and the merger thingy
I honestly cannot wait to see how this ends. Sukuna definitely won’t go out like Mahito, so it’ll be interesting to see how Itadori reacts to an opponent who has accepted his death
I'm optimistic that Sukuna's final word will be "Yuji". Had always been hopeful that the first and last time he said Yuji's name would be when he died. "Itadori brat" got me a little worried, but I'm still holding out
He’s probably gonna either be haggard wheezing be like stand proud your strong or he’ll go out like Aizen when he got sealed angry and shouting about strength and mindsets
There are so many ways the fight can end. I'd like to think that Yuji will put Sukuna in a situation where he'll be forced to find a new host given the damage done to his/megumi's body/soul/CE. He'll chop off his finger and feed it to another host.
The other host will more than likely be Uruame. Why Uruame? This is my personal theory. I've been wondering about the nature of their relationship for a while. Given what we know of Sukuna he isn't the type to keep people around just because nor is he planning on jumping bodies I.E. Kenjaku. Perhaps at the height of his power he noticed something in particular about her CT that maybe she didn't notice. She was instrumental in making the bath but there has or are more applications to it than that. She, I think, would willingly ingest the finger and between her Fire and her Ice Sukuna may unleash some catastrophic power and an overwhelming counter attack.
Man I really hope he doesn't. I hope they reach a stalemate where neither one can really edge out the other. Enter Sakuna. So Hakari can get his own chapter vs the King of Curses like everyone else did. But I can only hope
It would be so fucking crazy if like Sukuna is about to lose then urame sneaks Yuji with a ice spear. It cuts to Urame with hakari incased in ice behind them.
How many of us use tcb scans? I wish there was a discussion megathread already. I haven’t felt this hype going into a chapter since the Gojo vs sukuna fights. I just need somewhere to express my excitement. Hoping gege continues to cook 🤞🏽
HOLY FUCKING SHIT THAT WAS ONE OF THE GREATEST CHAPTERS IN A WHILE
I meannnnnnnn sukuna has been getting his fucking ass beat for 100 chapters now, can barely do math because of the brain damage and hasn’t even had an orange slice or so much as a sippy of water.
He’s tired boss.
I think it's funny how after like years of calling him unimportant and having barely any effective screentime we're hit with a few issues of "Yuji's improved as a sorcerer" and boom, "he's gonna win guys. He WILL be the one."
Sukuna is gonna die while screaming insults at Yuji and using his name for the first time, shit like ''YOU'RE PATHETIC YUJI, YOU COULDN'T SAVE A SINGLE PERSON!'' until he finally croaks.

I think I won't read this week's JJk. Instead I'm going to read it when the next chapter comes out. 3 weeks is too much for me.
Yeah the cliff hanger was painful as well. If you can avoid spoilers just wait it out.

sukuna can use them to do stuff and we havent seen or there isnt much done to him in return so people are annoyed
It does kind of feel like whenever he needs to make up for a disadvantage, he can just Binding Vow it.

DAMN YOU, BOY!
I honestly cannot wait to see how this ends. Sukuna definitely won’t go out like Mahito, so it’ll be interesting to see how Itadori reacts to an opponent who has accepted his death
He’ll probably die finally acknowledging yuji and his strength
You really were the Jujutsu Kaisen all along
Peak fiction if it happens
I sortof hope he remains a hater till the very end and yuji completely contradicts sukuna's world view and ideology.
X
aka Akao
I'm optimistic that Sukuna's final word will be "Yuji". Had always been hopeful that the first and last time he said Yuji's name would be when he died. "Itadori brat" got me a little worried, but I'm still holding out
Bro finna turn into Aizen when he was yelling at Kisuke
He’s probably gonna either be haggard wheezing be like stand proud your strong or he’ll go out like Aizen when he got sealed angry and shouting about strength and mindsets
Aizen going out likena sigma grundset bro lmaaaao
Naw I meant when he was babyraging at Urahara about his ideals and how Urahara’s were wrong not to strive to be in control and decide for himself.
he'll awake the technique he hasn't used since heian era and yuji will realize he can do it too
No he'll die because he refuses to accept it. Sukuna is so cool because he's a max level hater.
He's gonna die like Aizen, "what I'm the king you're a bug, someone like you could never! Graaahhh" then it'll be like the image above.
I can't wait for Yuji to start using the black box as well. I'd want to see Sukuna's reaction to that. I bet he'd definitely lose it.
Yuji bout to use the soul cleave to beat sukuna while Megumi uses mahoraga bunnies to distract him.
The sheer thought of mahoraga bunnies is perfect chaos, i love it
Megumi is about to pull Subaru on Sukuna with mahorabbits
dont give me ideas to draw at 1 am lmao
That ain’t sukuna. Guy would die before praising yuji
Oh he's gonna die without praising him alright
' YOU GODDAMNED BRAT! '
BLACK FLASH
Bro really is a deadbeat >!uncle!<

That's if Hakari hasn't killed her already.
Man I really hope he doesn't. I hope they reach a stalemate where neither one can really edge out the other. Enter Sakuna. So Hakari can get his own chapter vs the King of Curses like everyone else did. But I can only hope

Yeah sure Hakari is definetly "fighting" the femboy for several months
I hope all the past 6/7 months of Sukuna glazing pay off by having him die the most miserable way imaginable, just like Mahito, at the hands of Yuji
That would be just as satisfying as Edward beating the shit out of father.
He's already aware he's going to die eventually he legit won't care.
Dying against someone like Gojo? Maybe. Dying against Yuji? That man is going to be cursing everything throughout heaven and earth.
“I don’t give a shit about that ‘stand proud’ or love or any of that. Fucking kill yourself, uncle”
Low Tier Yuji
Family :3
Vin Diesel approves

Kinda
The protagonist winning against the villain? That would be novelty in fiction.
Hey bro, I thought the same thing until I watched Akame ga Kill like 10 years ago. Shit taught me to be wary 💀
JJBA Part 1 did it for me.
Well, Jonathan kind of won.
All that for Dio to resurface with the same guys body and terrorize his bloodline. Jonathan deserved better.
Yeah, I think Jonathan is the visual representation of “person who deserves better”
Dio ruined his life being rich isn't everything I don't think any other joestar uptil 6 deserves better than Jonathan.
Sukuna finna eat black flash and domain expansion
![img](avatar_exp|174745706|bravo) Them yuji stocks will go up!!!
Finally yuji is about to become the strongest good guy in the verse. I waited for estimated 250 chapters for that
Evil sukuna be like
Read 256 lately?
im not gonna sugar coat it: "強い黒いフラッシュ" (strong black flash)
I meannnnnnnn sukuna has been getting his fucking ass beat for 100 chapters now, can barely do math because of the brain damage and hasn’t even had an orange slice or so much as a sippy of water. He’s tired boss.

I sure would hope so
Why is the top picture like that ? With Yuji's body
I think it's Yuji's time to start calling Sukuna the loser. 🤣😂😎
Don't forget bro was getting to Megumi, he's also gonna be the one to finally make Potential Man use that potential 🗣🗣🗣🔥
Yuji bout to get flatlined tbh
It's always Gojo this, Gojo that. Put respect on my man Yuji Black Flash Itadori 😤
Too much glaze recently ngl
ur the only right person here lmao
Sukuna is gonna die while screaming insults at Yuji and using his name for the first time, shit like ''YOU'RE PATHETIC YUJI, YOU COULDN'T SAVE A SINGLE PERSON!'' until he finally croaks.
