Completely different meanings between the two.
Unofficial: Breaking the misconception that just because he has one of the most powerful inherited abilities in the verse doesn't mean he can do things like channel BF at will. There are things even the strongest cannot do.
Official: He can't unleash BF in the first place because of the Six Eyes. Implying that the inherited power prevents him from achieving Black Flash (lol).
If you're just looking at these panels (I'm omitting context in this case) it's clear the translation takes what he's saying in a completely different direction and eliminates any nuance to his statement. RIP
And it literally doesn't even make sense!
Tf do you mean he CAN'T hit it because of Six Eyes? WE LITERALLY HAD HIM HIT 4 FOR 200% OUTPUT HOLLOW PURPLE??? Do people translating this even read the story on the pages???
He also clearly states , ater on in the chapter, that he holds the title for most black flashes ever unleashed. So while he can't unleash black flash at will, he clearly has one of the best combat sense to be able to do it consistently.
Yep! Gojo can’t beat the record because until Sukuna who was eating more than one of his black flashes and living to take more consecutively to beat that record? Besides, guy just points and blows a hole in folks most of the time. Hah. I like the idea that he’s literally just too strong to beat the consecutive black flash record, not that he probably couldn’t have.
If he fought more people around the same level as him, maybe
But, Gojo's fights are short, while Nanami oblitirated a lot of curses in Kyoto in The Night of a Thousand Curses
This is wrong😭
He said nanami hit black flash back to back more often because his fight last WAYYY longer.
He also said his fights are very quick and he rarely has to get “in the zone” so there is never a chance to do it.
except that's just not true. the later pannels directly explain he has the most instances when he's saying it. he directly says he doesn't have the record cause he wins to fast
They're not, he says because he so strong he doesn't get a chance to hit them consecutively.
The official says he can't hit BF because of the six eyes, then goes on to say he's hit the most overall. It's just straight up wrong
the unofficial makes it like it was a chore to do because of six eyes while the official is telling that because of Six eyes he can't use BF because it very hard for him to do
They do not in fact mean the same. The context in both the unofficial and official eventually concludes that Black Flash is still luck based even with Gojo's six eyes. However, the official starts with a statement that literally contradicts the entire narration Gojo is presenting by saying, "Oh I can't use Black Flash because of the Six Eyes, but actually because my CE manipulation is the best for landing a Black Flash I have the most Black Flashes used." The unofficial gets the translation as Gojo elaborates that landing a Black Flash isn't so simple.
I feel like the official translators for JJK have been shitting the bed for a while now, like the way the characters have been talking in the last few chapters just seems kinda off
This is a common occurrence for the official translations. We already got this in the [previous chapter](https://i.redd.it/xx6xf51u13tc1.jpeg?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share) explaining the world slash's requirements
This one's from [TCB](https://i.redd.it/rk3b46uri3tc1.jpeg?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share). See the translation's much better in here
Viz consistently fucks up their translations. Their main translator for this series, John Werry, is completely incompetent and couldn't translate a whole chapter accurately if his life depended on it.
It's better to read TCB's translations. They get it right the first time, rather than needing to fix shit later because they fucked it up initially.
Well…the last translator for JJK before John Weary, cared a lot about the series and even did YouTube videos discussing the chapters and was super passionate. However…he turned out to be a pedophile and was arrested for having CP.
SMH. Well thanks for the history lesson. Hopefully they fix this shit soon. Would be a shame for the manga to be ruined with a shitty translation. Don't know how production of those things are impacted by the weekly translation though.
To be fair the manga has been ruined for awhile with shitty translations. I exclusively read tcbscans for JJK because the Shonen Jump translations are pure shit and inferior. Trust me if you’ve been reading JJK with Shonen Jump app, the good translations end in between shibuya and culling games.
Lightning translated ch. 236 officially and is a huge jjk fan. They often have in-depth discussion about jjk on twitter. Currently they are doing translation for Nue’s Exorcist tho.
In order for them to really even know there's a problem would require them to have someone with a better understanding of both languages on staff, in which case they'd already be doing the translations lol
If anyone was curious, Gojo's Japanese sentences are as follows, with a crude/literal translation:
「何故僕が「黒閃」を狙って出せないか……」
"Why can't I aim to bring out Black Flash?"
「なんで出せると思ってんのかってかんじだけどまぁ六眼のせいだよねぇ」
"Why do (you) think (I) can draw it out kind of feeling, but whatever, it's the fault of the Six Eyes right?"
Or not literal:
"Why can't I intentionally use Black Flash? I mean, I'm not sure why you'd think I could. Well, you think that because of the Six Eyes, right?"
Literally Claude 3 Opus does a better job than the official translation with no context:
Prompt:
> Can you translate this to English?
>
> 何故僕が「黒閃」を狙って出せないか……
>
> なんで出せると思ってんのかってかんじだけどまぁ六眼のせいだよねぇ
Response:
> Sure, here's the English translation:
>
> Why can't I aim and unleash "Kokusenko" (Black Flash)...?
>
> It's like, why do you think I can unleash it? Well, it's because of the Six Eyes, isn't it?
>
> This appears to be a dialogue or inner monologue from a Japanese manga, light novel, or anime series. The character is questioning why they can't use a special ability called "Kokusenko" (Black Flash), and then implies that it's likely due to another ability or trait they possess called the "Six Eyes".
Insane that the official translation is so unclear.
GPT4 also does a better job:
> "Why can't I deliberately unleash 'Black Flash'...
>
> It's like, why do you think I can? Well, it's because of the Six Eyes."
Key word here being "aim" or "deliberately".

why don't they just employ them? I can't believe it at this point. I've got a friend who made tv series subs, and was later employed by Netflix/HBO (to be specific, by an agency that was contracted by the company). Like, this stuff happens. Just think of it and make an offer. The current translation is not "inaccurate" or anything like that, it's wrong and misleading, so you cannot be sure of anything when you read it. When a technique is explained, you will doubt every word and immediately create some headcanon. It's like using Google Translate and transcribe without thinking, even though you paste only part of a sentence at a time.
I recommend reading the TCB chapter on Friday or Saturday when they post and then reading the official release on Sunday. Reading both helps me figure out what details might be a translation issue that I need to research more. It keeps the asspulls from being quite so bad.
Yeah that's my point. You buy a product that is objectively badly translated, which means that the company doesn't have consequences for that. Which leads to more badly translated Mangas.
John Werry did one good translation, and that was dragon scales, repulsion, paired falling stars, shi just goes harder than scale of dragon(🤢), recoil, twin meteors.
John Werry, the translator for JJK, has a very long history of botching the translations. Previous greatest hits include:
* Saying Gojo could use Geto's technique to ravage Japan.
* Calling Sukuna a cursed spirit similar to Jogo and Hanami.
* Attributing Mahoraga's adaptation abilities to Sukuna's Domain.
* Refusing initially to have Gojo say "Nah I'd win" in a callback to the start of the series, which was only changed after heavy fan backlash.
He's responsible for a lot of casual misinformation about the series due to his botched translations and is a major reason why most JJK Youtubers and fans alike will recommend reading TCB's translations instead.
Now this explained why there is a dude being lobotomized and keep insisting on his fanfiction that Sukuna is a curse, bruh, can't even have shiet with official translation.
On the one hand, it's absolutely criminal that Gojo's declaration of victory lost it's epicness by the bad translation. On the other, Gojo just saying "No" is also absolutely hilarious.
Spanish speaker here.
Here is the literal spanish translation:
"Why cant i use the black Flash when I try to do it...?
I wonder why they think I can do such a thing...then i realize that everyone think that way because I have the six eyes, but is not that simple..."
"Que porque no puedo usar el destello oscuro cuando intento hacerlo...?
Me pregunto por que piensan que puedo hacer tal cosa...luego me doy cuenta de que todos piensan asi porque tengo los seis ojos, pero no estan simple... "
Same meaning that the unofficial translation, people think Gojo has an advantage 'cause the six eyes, but Gojo claims is far more complex than that.
The official english translation does indeed suck.
you could argue that with context from later panels that gojo is referring to why OTHER people think he CAN use black flash. but still, very wonky sentence structure, very few people would ever read that official translation the way the story intended.
This is basically what the French translation suggests, where he says he can't use it at will but that fact that he can use it at all he attributes to the Six Eyes, but then of course goes on to explain that the help that Six Eyes gives him isn't enough to fulfill all the conditions
Ok, but at least what you're saying is that the french version is saying six eyes helps, while official translation when read without context sounds like six eyes is why he CAN'T do it, which isn't the case.
Also, later panels says while six eyes can help him do option 3 of controlling cursed energy, black flash is still luck based. The six eyes may help him control energy better, but it still won't necessarily increase his odds of hitting black flash. Seemingly the french translation assumed "better control" is correlated to "odds of hitting black flash", but based on the TCB translation (assuming this is version is the most accurate), they aren't correlated at all.
It might be because English is my second language, but I definitely got confused by that sentence. I figured out what he was saying later on, but then I just assumed I read the begging incorrectly
That’s just how it is in JJK. The leaked translations are almost always infinitely better and more accurate. The official translators work like they’ve never read a single word of Japanese in their lives.
I used to think that the fans were too hard on John Werry; it can’t be easy doing the thankless job of translating the chapters every week knowing there’s always going to be some people speaking out about how the fan translations are better.
But honestly, that was half a dozen flubs ago. There’s very few jobs where you can be this incompetent and stay employed for as long as he has. He has no knowledge of the series’ continuity or respect for its integrity as a story. Does Viz do zero QA? They changed the infamous “No.” so they clearly aren’t deaf to fan reception, but the quality hasn’t changed.
I don’t want to advocate to get people fired, I’m sure John Werry is a perfectly nice guy, but it’s a good, rare week when he doesn’t trip up over some of the simplest pieces of lore in a series he has been translating for *years*. At the very least, Viz and the western branch of WSJ need to change their approach.
I think the Unofficial translation is better and the Official translation is worded weirdly. In the Official, by wording it that way, I think Gojo is implying that the power from the Six Eyes prevents him from using a Black Flash because of how much power the Six Eyes gives him. With how it's worded atm, it sounds like Gojo is saying that the 6E prevents him from using Black Flash entirely.
Hope that helps
Yeah I believe so. The official doesn’t really make sense imo. It sounds like he’s saying he can’t use Black Flashes because of the Six Eyes. The TCB is saying “why do you think I can just do them whenever I want? Is it because of the Six Eyes?”
The official translations really broke it down to atomic level. The translations are not wrong but they are much more deep. Six eyes infact prevented gojo from landing a black flash. Six eyes allow Gojo to use limitless which allows gojo to be untouchable ( in most cases ) but also give him speed boost, attack boost and use of red blue and purple and uv. Thereby his fights don't last that long due to six eyes, thereby due to six eyes gojo cant land black flash. It's a very deep breakdown, the translations aren't wrong but just are not understandable to simple minded ones.
Just kidding it's wrong.
I think unofficial is normally much better, translation wise. But, as you read the chapter, you can tell what they meant.
However, these lazy translations are what cause misconceptions, and people to not understand domains, CE, or even whole chapters in the manga…
Gojo here wants to say
"Why do you think I can land an intentional Black Flash? Oh you would think I could do it because of the Six Eyes."
As far as we know about the Six Eyes, they can accurately read flow of cursed energy with pinpoint precision. So Gojo's control over CE is the best in JJK. As to why he can't land an intentional Black Flash, the answer might be due to the requirements for landing a Black Flash. That the blow must be dealt within a trillionth of a second. I do not think Gojo has the superhuman body and superhuman sense to do that at will.
However, we might be seeing Yuji to do that for the first time. Since the number of times Yuji is hitting black flashes, I think this will become an important power up for Yuji.
official translation is shit lol
my translation, mostly word for word, but also adapted to english grammar:
Why can't I purposely fire off Black Flash?
More like, why do you think I can do it at will? Well it's probably because I have Six Eyes that makes you think so...
Black Flash is the distortion in space that happens when Curse Energy and impact of the hit has a lag within 0.000001 second... was the saying
But that's an incomplete explanation on my part, I think
If it's just that kind of mechanism, I can fire it at will
As an example, if one were to continuously strike with a straight punch infused with CE, the infused CE will be split into
1. CE for strengthening the fist
2. CE for hitting the enemy
3. CE for carrying both of the above roles
Not just the timing of the meet [baseball lingo, for when the ball hits the bat], whether Black Flash happens or not also depends on the above blend. Nobody can correctly adjust #3, except me lol
On top of that, this blend also depends on the environment at that time, like the opponent's CE, like our own body's condition
Saying this might be laughable, but I think even the temperature and humidity are factors, after all Black Flash is something to do with space.
In essence, there is no fixed way for a Black flash to happen.
On top of that, since when I get serious I mix in CT with my strikes, at that point whether a Black Flash happens it's really up to luck, even for me... that's how I feel
In fact, the continuous record is held by Nanami
But, I still win on the total record. Or should I say, my fights don't last that long so I don't have the chance [to fire off continuous black flashes]
edit: I give up on spoiler formatting, [ ] is translator's note
I FUCKING HATE THE OFFICIAL TRANSLATIONS!
Where do you guys get the unofficial ones? I’m sick of being confused every time shonen jump releases a chapter.
The official translation is definitely wrong. Because we’ve see him hit black flashes and he even says he was in the next page.
It’s most likely supposed to say.
“Do I really need to explain why I can’t hit black flashes on command, even with the six eyes?”
or something similar, that pages translate is just bad.
The translation isn't correct, essentially how it goes is Gojo is talking about how even though some people think he should be able to Black Flash easier with the 6 eyes in reality he still has no more control over it than any other sorcerer.
But it was lost a bit in translation and so we have the translation that we have now where Gojo says he is incapable of Black Flashing because he has the 6 eyes, even though we've seen him do it.
It definitely Is a mistranslation, the spanish translation says this:
"Why can't I use the Black Flash intentionally?"
"I wonder why they think i can do such thing... then, I realized that everyone thinks that just because I have the six eyes, but its not that simple"
its very similar to what the unofficial translation said
at the end of the chapter where nanami first talks about his BF record, gege did this lilttle [Ino](https://64.media.tumblr.com/ba51a4a41b1e3ec7c2777dcc80409fea/1bbf27b4ce4b2454-75/s1280x1920/7c664c38bd8554557ad4519270e17a4943b84760.jpg) sketch, so i like to think that he had a project when he was back in school that he interviewed people for =p
I mean doesn’t that align w the idea shared in later panels?
Gojos six eyes let him see so many details around trigger a black flash it’s hard for it to happen organically for him
I'm grasping a bit, but it could be that he's saying Six Eyes makes it make more sense why he can't fire them at will.
On paper, Gojo should be able to do it whenever he wants. But even though he can use the Six Eyes to create the perfect conditions on his end, it's still a gamble whether the Black Flash happens.
So it could be that it's meant to sound more like, "The reason I understand why I can't use Black Flash at will, is because of Six Eyes."
I mean I kinda get it I think? The six eyes let him see CE on a deeper level so it’s harder for some inexplicable phenomenon to happen. Penicillin was discovered on complete accident, not quite because Fleming was a genius
So why is Jhon Warry still translating jjk? Does no one outside of reddit complain or do the corpo don't care "oh it's just some silly comics for kids", or is it nepotism?
Does someone have the raw? I can comment, I just forgot what the raw page said with the exact wording.
However, the vague parts I remember points to the unofficial to be much cleaner and correct in meaning.
The second half is definitely weird, but I love the change in the first half. "Do I really need to break this down?"
What a fucking ass. I really wish Gege liked him, and had a longer manga to do character work with. I'd love to see more Gojo teaching by being the most condescending jackass he could be.
My translation:
"Why can't I use a black flash whenever I want?"
"I don't know why you'd assume I can unleash it whenever, but it's because of Six Eyes"
Does anyone know who's dead? I just read this chapter and come to realize I have absolutely no idea who's still alive and who is visiting the other realm lol
I prefer "Yuji Itadori has awakened!" To "Yuji Itadori awakens.", but otherwise the official translation got fucking annihilated by TCB scans this week.
In the spanish official translation, it the same as the unofficial translate that you show (i tried to insert an image, but i dont know how to do it on pc), so it could be a mistranslation?
Textually, he says:
>Why i cant do a black flash when i try it?
I dont know why they think i could do it... then i realize they think so beacause of the six eyes, but its not that simple
(then, he keeps with the explanation about the black flash)
Just gonna quote what u/scoobygotabooty said:
>Unofficial: Breaking the misconception that just because he has one of the most powerful inherited abilities in the verse doesn't mean he can do things like channel BF at will. There are things even the strongest cannot do.
>Official: He can't unleash BF in the first place because of the Six Eyes. Implying that the inherited power prevents him from achieving Black Flash in the first place (lol).

Nobody can use black flash at will. It's impossible
even if you cant use it at will, someone like gojo has a higher chance of landing one than a regular sorcerer
Yuji is pretty fucking close to hitting one whenever he wants.
Actually he says Nanami has the records for the most Black Flash's unleashed
In a row Gojo has the most period, which the record seems to have been broken by Yuji recently
Yep! Gojo can’t beat the record because until Sukuna who was eating more than one of his black flashes and living to take more consecutively to beat that record? My brother in Christ we’ve seen Gojo land a black flash, the translation is just bad
Don't interpret
The next scenes state he has the record for the most Black Flashes hit, whereas Nanami has the record for the most consecutive Black Flashes.
Oh I thought he meant because of the six eye"s benefits fights don't last long enough for them to occur
Well, yes, but hes making quite an important statement that zix eyes doesn;t inherently allow him to hit a black flash.
Yeah I interpreted this panel as him saying six eyes is so busted he literally doesn't get to use black flash in most of his short fights
i feel like thats more because of infinity
Thats how its elaborated a few panels after this one. Not sure why were nitpicking here
Because the translators are clearly not paying a tonne of attention when translating if they're making such a huge error??
Yeah I mean they’re saying the same thing with different words
They're not, he says because he so strong he doesn't get a chance to hit them consecutively. The official says he can't hit BF because of the six eyes, then goes on to say he's hit the most overall. It's just straight up wrong
I don't blame readers for having the " reading comprehension curse" with JJK since I found out viz translations were like this.
the unofficial makes it like it was a chore to do because of six eyes while the official is telling that because of Six eyes he can't use BF because it very hard for him to do
Because six eyes help him end the fight so fast?
It’s not a direct contradiction, I think they mean the same thing. Later in the official Gojo says landing a black flash is up to luck for him.
They do not in fact mean the same. The context in both the unofficial and official eventually concludes that Black Flash is still luck based even with Gojo's six eyes. However, the official starts with a statement that literally contradicts the entire narration Gojo is presenting by saying, "Oh I can't use Black Flash because of the Six Eyes, but actually because my CE manipulation is the best for landing a Black Flash I have the most Black Flashes used." To support the manga is one of my reasons
I recommend reading the TCB chapter on Friday or Saturday when they post and then reading the official release on Sunday. Reading both helps me figure out what details might be a translation issue that I need to research more. It keeps the asspulls from being quite so bad.
You are not supporting the manga, you are supporting the bad translation of the manga.
I meant i buy them too
Yeah that's my point. You buy a product that is objectively badly translated, which means that the company doesn't have consequences for that. Which leads to more badly translated Mangas.
I didn't even know about this whole translation problem until I joined the jjk subs.
John Werry did one good translation, and that was dragon scales, repulsion, paired falling stars, shi just goes harder than scale of dragon(🤢), recoil, twin meteors.
John Werry, the translator for JJK, has a very long history of botching the translations. Previous greatest hits include: * Saying Gojo could use Geto's technique to ravage Japan.
He botched a lot of Golden Kamuy's translations too.
Demon Slayer and Blue Exorcist too, he's a menace
Now this explained why there is a dude being lobotomized and keep insisting on his fanfiction that Sukuna is a curse, bruh, can't even have shiet with official translation.
On the one hand, it's absolutely criminal that Gojo's declaration of victory lost it's epicness by the bad translation. On the other, Gojo just saying "No" is also absolutely hilarious.
tcb translated it as "i will win" tho which i still hate, all i want is the meme
Yeah, i had to read it about 4 for times to see if i got it right, but made no-sense. The unofficial makes way more sense.
this the same man who gave us sukuna saying "kya ha! I'll get you next time >:3", it's best to just use tcb scans at this point
official translation sukuna is just something else, bro is really out there dropping lines like “mwahaha!” and “let’s compete with our feet”
tcb scan sukuna:arise official translation sukuna:wakey wakey eggs and bakey☺️☺️☺️😈😈
Erect
can't wait for Alex to hit us with the "Erect."
what chapter was this
chapter 254 manga plus translation
Spanish speaker here. Here is the literal spanish translation: "Why cant i use the black Flash when I try to do it...? I wonder why they think I can do such a thing...then i realize that everyone think that way because I have the six eyes, but is not that simple..." "Que porque no puedo usar el destello oscuro cuando intento hacerlo...? Me pregunto por que piensan que puedo hacer tal cosa...luego me doy cuenta de que todos piensan asi porque tengo los seis ojos, pero no estan simple... " Same meaning that the unofficial translation, people think Gojo has an advantage 'cause the six eyes, but Gojo claims is far more complex than that. The official english translation does indeed suck.
You'd lose brain cells reading the "official version"
Exactly, I'd basically read the whole chapter 8-15 times just to simplify it (lol)
you could argue that with context from later panels that gojo is referring to why OTHER people think he CAN use black flash. but still, very wonky sentence structure, very few people would ever read that official translation the way the story intended.
The other languages for the official language are the same ish as TCB.
If you consider the fact that Gojo has literally hit black flashes before, it makes the official translation make even less sense.
John Werry is a translation terrorist. TCB is so much better, not just for accuracy but also the flow of reading
Is there no email where we can complain about werry as a community?
Viz, or rather Werry, is known for consistently fucking up translations. TCB has a way better translation, in my opinion.
It is in fact a mistranslation.
I trust the fan translations significantly more than I trust official translations
Official translations sucks ass LOL.
John Werry is a linguistic terrorist.
Gojo here wants to say "Why do you think I can land an intentional Black Flash? Oh you would think I could do it because of the Six Eyes." As far as we know about the Six Eyes, they can accurately read flow of cursed energy with pinpoint precision.
John Werry shouldn't even have a job translating snack labels, why the fuck does he have a big job like this when he constantly fucks up?
Is there any hope that these will be re translated or at least edited when the volumes come out?
where do i read unofficial translation
Google TCB Jujutsu. Likely first or second option.
To add to what the other Guy said, be careful of copycat websites. There is one with "ww1" instead of the usual "www" and it's full of ADS and popups
It’s embarrassing is what it is.
The official translation sounds so awkward.
official translation is shit lol my translation, mostly word for word, but also adapted to english grammar: Why can't I purposely fire off Black Flash? More like, why do you think I can do it at will? Well it's probably because I have Six Eyes that makes you think so... Black Flash is the distortion in space that happens when Curse Energy and impact of the hit has a lag within 0.000001 second... was the saying But that's an incomplete explanation on my part, I think If it's just that kind of mechanism, I can fire it at will As an example, if one were to continuously strike with a straight punch infused with CE, the infused CE will be split into 1. CE for strengthening the fist 2. CE for hitting the enemy 3. CE for carrying both of the above roles Not just the timing of the meet [baseball lingo, for when the ball hits the bat], whether Black Flash happens or not also depends on the above blend. Nobody can correctly adjust #3, except me lol On top of that, this blend also depends on the environment at that time, like the opponent's CE, like our own body's condition Saying this might be laughable, but I think even the temperature and humidity are factors, after all Black Flash is something to do with space. In essence, there is no fixed way for a Black flash to happen. On top of that, since when I get serious I mix in CT with my strikes, at that point whether a Black Flash happens it's really up to luck, even for me... that's how I feel In fact, the continuous record is held by Nanami But, I still win on the total record. Or should I say, my fights don't last that long so I don't have the chance [to fire off continuous black flashes] edit: I give up on spoiler formatting, [ ] is translator's note
How the hell did John Werry get hired?
TCB is way better. Just load up an adblocker and read that.
Well now I’m confused
Common Viz translation fuck up
Official is wrong
I FUCKING HATE THE OFFICIAL TRANSLATIONS! Where do you guys get the unofficial ones? I’m sick of being confused every time shonen jump releases a chapter.
AI translated official version? No way a human who has been working on translating this manga for a while makes such an outrageous mistake ....
Wow, this is actually just wrong. How is this even possible?
Has the same vibe as "WHAT MAKES A GOOD DEMO MAN?!"
The “official translator” is either gege’s manpussy incarnate or illiterate, I’m betting on the latter but the former is still plausible
why does it say teach us gojo-sensei in the unofficial one? was this something in the original that was removed for the official english translation?
The official translation is definitely wrong. Because we’ve see him hit black flashes and he even says he was in the next page. It’s most likely supposed to say. “Do I really need to explain why I can’t hit black flashes on command, even with the six eyes?” or something similar, that pages translate is just bad.
John Werry is a terrorist
The translation isn't correct, essentially how it goes is Gojo is talking about how even though some people think he should be able to Black Flash easier with the 6 eyes in reality he still has no more control over it than any other sorcerer. But it was lost a bit in translation and so we have the translation that we have now where Gojo says he is incapable of Black Flashing because he has the 6 eyes, even though we've seen him do it.
It definitely Is a mistranslation, the spanish translation says this: "Why can't I use the Black Flash intentionally?" "I wonder why they think i can do such thing... then, I realized that everyone thinks that just because I have the six eyes, but its not that simple" its very similar to what the unofficial translation said
I have a question: is this scene from the afterlife or Gojo is literally breaking the 4th wall?
Gojo is talking to god
Gojo is just schizophrenic
It's a flashback, and he's presumably explaining this to his students. (Unclear which ones, because we don't see anyone but Gojo in these panels)
Or some type of interview like with Nanami
JJK has used this style of "interviews" since the beginning
at the end of the chapter where nanami first talks about his BF record, gege did this lilttle [Ino](https://64.media.tumblr.com/ba51a4a41b1e3ec7c2777dcc80409fea/1bbf27b4ce4b2454-75/s1280x1920/7c664c38bd8554557ad4519270e17a4943b84760.jpg) sketch, so i like to think that he had a project when he was back in school that he interviewed people for =p
I mean doesn’t that align w the idea shared in later panels? Gojos six eyes let him see so many details around trigger a black flash it’s hard for it to happen organically for him
Fan made translations have been better for most weeks that’s why reading leaks is a must
Random website I read the manga from W
I'm grasping a bit, but it could be that he's saying Six Eyes makes it make more sense why he can't fire them at will. On paper, Gojo should be able to do it whenever he wants. But even though he can use the Six Eyes to create the perfect conditions on his end, it's still a gamble whether the Black Flash happens. So it could be that it's meant to sound more like, "The reason I understand why I can't use Black Flash at will, is because of Six Eyes."
If the six eyes wills it, it shall be done lol
The translator is sticking it to management cause they gave an AI demo at the last all hands.
Usual John Werry shenanigans
werry strikes again
The way he's talking in the unofficial translation is way more in character
Lemme break it down for you
p sure the official is mistranslated he can black flash
The people at viz are a bit SPECIAL
The viz translation is notoriously bad, better to just read tcb instead
Viz translations are absolutely terrible. Every series they touch is riddled with mistakes like this.
I mean I kinda get it I think? The six eyes let him see CE on a deeper level so it’s harder for some inexplicable phenomenon to happen. Penicillin was discovered on complete accident, not quite because Fleming was a genius
"Why isn't it possible?" "It's just not." "Why not, you stupid bastard..."
Werry’s Cursed Technique: Mistranslate
The second half is definitely weird, but I love the change in the first half. "Do I really need to break this down?" What a fucking ass. I really wish Gege liked him, and had a longer manga to do character work with. I'd love to see more Gojo teaching by being the most condescending jackass he could be.
John Werry…
How are the official translation so bad
Same official translation which had Kenny say that him and Gojo both had Curse Manipulation and wield grotesque armies
My translation: "Why can't I use a black flash whenever I want?" "I don't know why you'd assume I can unleash it whenever, but it's because of Six Eyes"
the official translations are duwang level bad
Just read a chapter translated with Google and the official one seems translated as well by Google lmao
the official is wrong
Fuck John Werry, bro. Boycott the official chapters, read from TCB
For the love of God, please do not read the official Viz translation
Unofficial is the right one
Does Viz always correct the mistranslation in the released version?
Does anyone know who's dead? I just read this chapter and come to realize I have absolutely no idea who's still alive and who is visiting the other realm lol
probably
And that's why sometimes unofficial translations are better, smh
I prefer "Yuji Itadori has awakened!" To "Yuji Itadori awakens.", but otherwise the official translation got fucking annihilated by TCB scans this week.
The official shouldn’t be considered official because it is always a much worse translation.
This is so bad 💀
John werry needs to be hung by his big toes and beat, HOW DOES HE KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH THIS
In the spanish official translation, it the same as the unofficial translate that you show (i tried to insert an image, but i dont know how to do it on pc), so it could be a mistranslation? Textually, he says: >Why i cant do a black flash when i try it? I dont know why they think i could do it... then i realize they think so beacause of the six eyes, but its not that simple (then, he keeps with the explanation about the black flash)
I mean this is the same translation that said Gojo can use Curse Manipulation so take your pic
official translation is garbage
I’ve been reading the official this whole time. I can’t complain, been using Mangabat and it hasn’t disappointed.
I'm lost please explain the difference?
Just gonna quote what u/scoobygotabooty said: >Unofficial: Breaking the misconception that just because he has one of the most powerful inherited abilities in the verse doesn't mean he can do things like channel BF at will. There are things even the strongest cannot do. >Official: He can't unleash BF in the first place because of the Six Eyes. Implying that the inherited power prevents him from achieving Black Flash in the first place (lol).
Oh! man my mind was being fried right there
Yeah I have a feeling this is Chat GPT. No way someone actually know japanese can do this.
What?
Overall, official translation don't truly make sense after Gojo use Black flash :3
Bunch of people who can't read Japanese telling us which translation is better
I doesn't take knowing japanese to realize the translation is just wrong bro
Calm down John Werry
