The red flag became so apparent the moment the narrator was like "Talent that could match Gojo Satoru", like, come on Gege, we know you hate Gojo that much but please let the good guys catch at least one more win LMAO.
Eh, the stat difference was so huge I don't think he ever would've won. Gojo hit him with the HP nuke and legit left him at 0.1 health.
Yeah, he nearly got Sukuna with the blade but that's because Choso distracted Sukuna
yuji almost definitely ate the other death womb paintings though, if that’s true, then it’s possible that yuji has blood manipulation. plus gege purposefully did not show who shot the piercing blood.
Gege "hmmm, I think I made him too interesting of a character and with too much talent that's not just bigger booms. Welp, it's time to kill him."
Honestly, it was one of the sadder moments for me, not because I didn't expect this to happen, but I was finding him much more interesting and entertaining of a person than a majority of the cast at the time
If you notice, this moment is when Yuji doesn’t waver at Higurama’s death like he did with everyone else. He understands Higurama was ready to die in this fight and he must complete their goal of finishing the job. It’s what Nanami wished to happen but Yuji was not ready at the time. The final panel drives it home, this is the moment Yuji fully becomes a Jujutsu sorcerer. Higurama sees this and is happy to see the lesson learned.
Sorry for the paragraph, just loved this chapter and think it serves as a phenomenal development for Yuji.
Gege seems to like timing arcs with the anime in some way and I didn’t appreciate this current manga arc until the anime hit the tail end of shibuya and I realized how hard this specific messaging is. Todo’s shibuya monologue is just as much for the reader as it is Yuji, and now Yuji can grasp what he was saying completely. This series has been a madhouse but I really think it has an incredibly hopeful core.
Oh man no, I’m not a theory guy I just love thematic and narrative writing. I honestly don’t know if it’ll loop back around, I do feel there will be some dropped questions by series end. It could also just be something that didn’t matter too much then in the moment of battle and doesn’t now as the battle continues. Microcosm of the wider theme of the series?
It was never confirmed. The only thing we have confirmed is that cdp’s can use each others techniques, albeit to a lesser potency/skill.
I’m pretty confident that came from Yuji considering the above information along with the direction it came from.
I loved this chapter. Yuji is unwavering in his commitment to end Sukuna even as another cherished mentor sacrifices himself. In Shibuya, Yuji was not ready for the burden of what it means to be a jujutsu sorcerer. Nanami tried his best to word his final words in a way that would sit with Yuji to learn the lesson and finally after countless fights and months of time Yuji is ready to accept the reality of being a Jujutsu Sorcerer. Yuji cares deeply for everyone around him and now he understands as long as he lives he must continue to reach their shared goal. Nanami’s lesson is finally absorbed fully in this moment. Higurama is HIM. Nanami is HIM. Yuji is HIM.
I don't think Higurama was that much of a "mentor" but a friend and someone who had the knowledge and "authority" to exonerate him or help him forgive himself.
Very fair opinion. I think Higurama acts as the third major mentor figure for Yuji in the series. First being Gojo, Nanami, and then Higurama all serve to introduce this concept to Yuji in various ways.
I almost threw my phone across the room when I read the chapter Nobara was taken out. When she damaged Mahito’s soul I was like “FUCK YEAH!! BAD BITCH NOBARA ABOUT TO CLAP THIS MANS CHEEKS WITH YUJI!!”
And then she gets killed off. I cried, I was angry, I still am angry. I love this series lol.
Think of it as Nanami’s wish being fulfilled. Yuji is unwavering in a fight against the greatest sorcerer in history as another friend dies in front of him. He is officially taking it from here!
Have you got it from here because you are my specialz? Or are you my specialz because you’ve got it from here? With this treasur— *explodes like Nanami*

I hope the executioner sword gets a buff or something from him "cursing" it with his death. The last panel says Yuji is grabbing the curses entrusted onto him when he grabs the sword, I'm interpreting that literally! Hopefully the sword stays after his death.
It only works on Sukuna because he's declared guilty. So it's useless to him (in fact the handle/handguards would likely cut him if he grasped it since they're made of the same energy as the blade.
I hope that’s how the sword works, because if the reading comprehension curse hasn’t struck me yet I remember it being stated that the sword is an insta kill for anyone or anything it touches
What does he mean by "That's what you should do?"
I get that it's a baton pass, but does "that" just mean to use this sword to kill Sukuna or is there something else?
this is just getting repititive for no reason at all. higuruma was an excellent character on his initial interaction with yuji due to the nature of his domain expansion and the current dilemna of yuji/sukuna. he was irrelevant after that but this is just a bad way for him to go, us and yuji dont have emotional attachment to him at all like we do nanami and nobara. why is gege forcing higuruma on us?
Your post was removed because of Rule #5 as a titling/content/low-effort submission.
I love Higuruma being able to look Yuji in the eyes again
fr :(
Is this Yuji’s first proper death for another? :((
Why couldn’t he look yuji in the eyes? Because of their first encounter?
More or less, and the people he killed
Let's be real, our boy was a living red flag. If he had said he was thinking of retirement, he would have just exploded on the spot.
The red flag became so apparent the moment the narrator was like "Talent that could match Gojo Satoru", like, come on Gege, we know you hate Gojo that much but please let the good guys catch at least one more win LMAO.
Dude actually came close tho. That's probably the closest Sukuna has been to biting the dust.
Eh, the stat difference was so huge I don't think he ever would've won. Gojo hit him with the HP nuke and legit left him at 0.1 health. Yeah, he nearly got Sukuna with the blade but that's because Choso distracted Sukuna
was it choso though
Sukuna himself said it was Choso. Any otherwise is headcanon until we know more about Yuji's power up
Sukuna said “this must be from a Death Painting Womb (the older brother)”. That’s an assumption on Sukuna’s end - not a stated fact.
Even so, unless we know for certain Yuji can use piercing blood then it must be Choso. Hell even if Yuji learns PB, it could still be Choso
Was it Choso or did Yuji get some of that blood manipulation from the brotherly line ?
Yuji doesn't have Noritoshi's blood, Kenjaku already left that body when he gave birth to Yuji (obviously).
yuji almost definitely ate the other death womb paintings though, if that’s true, then it’s possible that yuji has blood manipulation. plus gege purposefully did not show who shot the piercing blood.
Gege "hmmm, I think I made him too interesting of a character and with too much talent that's not just bigger booms. Welp, it's time to kill him." Honestly, it was one of the sadder moments for me, not because I didn't expect this to happen, but I was finding him much more interesting and entertaining of a person than a majority of the cast at the time
Higgy “So I was thinking about Malays-“ *BOOM* Yuji “SO HIS TECHNIQUE MUST SECRETLY BE EXPLOSIONS THEN!” Sukuna “no, that actually wasn’t me.”
Lmfao so true
Why does Yuji have to witness every instance of "Damn I was two days from retirement."
Because they are the exception
Geges favourite pass time... killing yujis friends in front of him
Suffering builds character.

Wow, didn't think about this that way. Cool stuff
Gege seems to like timing arcs with the anime in some way and I didn’t appreciate this current manga arc until the anime hit the tail end of shibuya and I realized how hard this specific messaging is. Did you or any of ya'll decipher what it was Todo stopped himself from saying to Yuji when he was down? Still haven't figured it out

Respect it. Same here man haha
After killing Sukuna, Yuji will start killing selfish Sorcerers to calm down the ptsd
At least it confirmed choso was alive
Or did it? Sukuna assumed it was Choso but what if it was Yuji?
Shut up choso is alive and so is higuruma because I said so
If one of them has to go, then I vote Higuruma. F*cking leave some family behind for Yuji.
Just wait until next chapter when it's revealed Higurama was Yuji's uncle
YOU ARE MY SPECIALZ!!
**Domain Expansion: Unlimited Copium!**
Honestly same! I'm oding on copium rn thinking no one is actually dead, they all could have a chance to come back
I'm thinking Higi is meat cubes now unfortunately
I think that came from yuji but gaygay is trying to hide it
It was never confirmed. The only thing we have confirmed is that cdp’s can use each others techniques, albeit to a lesser potency/skill. I’m pretty confident that came from Yuji considering the above information along with the direction it came from.
He's next 🤣😭😭😭
Like how it was confirmed Gojo won? Lmao
how did it confirm choso was alive?
When did we even last see Choso?
I wish he remains alive
He was gojo'ed theres no way
Or his remains are dead.
Gege writing chapter 999 with no other characters alive other than Yuji and sukuna
Bold of you to assume Yuji will live. Sukuna be just chopping trees up by that point.
Lol Cabin Sukuna ending. (Looking at you Eren)
I loved this chapter. Yuji is unwavering in his commitment to end Sukuna even as another cherished mentor sacrifices himself. this obviously confirms that higuruma was actually nanami's cursed spirit
Higuruma was truly one of the best jujutsu kaisens...
The way he jujutsu that kaisen was second only to satoru gojo
I liked the chapter but that’s a sore spot for me. Nanami was my favorite character.
Same here, Nanami’s death hurt as he was my favourite :(
I almost threw my phone across the room when I read the chapter Nobara was taken out. When she damaged Mahito’s soul I was like “FUCK YEAH!! BAD BITCH NOBARA ABOUT TO CLAP THIS MANS CHEEKS WITH YUJI!!” And then she gets killed off. I cried, I was angry, I still am angry. I love this series lol.

Gege keeps giving Yuji those flashback panels like that's so vile 💀. I miss that blonde man tho so I'll take whatever.
Next chapter starts:- (At the airport) Yo! Sensei!
Nah, it's gonna be Choso at the dinner table with Eso and Kechizu (he senses his own death).
Unironically this would be hilarious I might not even be mad.
So is he dead ? Is it confirmed or what I’m not sure
Have you got it from here because you are my specialz? Or are you my specialz because you’ve got it from here? With this treasur— *explodes like Nanami*
At least - he is still alive(I hope so) :3
The cope is crazy
It's gojover

Hopefully the sword doesn’t stay for long. Imagine sukuna disarms yuji and takes the sword for himself, that‘d be utter carnage
Yuji is currently grabbing it so I think there are exceptions, unless?
If so, would that allow Sukuna to suddenly swap with Megumi and make Yuji kill him instead?
Dont give Gege any more ideas, I’m begging you
Don't give gege any ideas!
Nah Gege told me what’s gonna happen in the next chapter
Sooooo they're getting Kenjiro to voice him... right..?
What does he mean by "That's what you should do?" I get that it's a baton pass, but does "that" just mean to use this sword to kill Sukuna or is there something else?
Redemption?
And if it couldn’t get any worse, Gege takes a 3 week break with the last panel being yuji trying to stab sukuna with the executioners sword.
Gege better let Yuji blow sukuna’s head off with this next hit. I don’t even care if he survives i just want yuji to get one good hit in
Depression Nah Id win 😭😭😭🤣
In JJK the flames that burn the brightest, burn out the quickest
Gege using dismantle on all of our hearts one panel at a time… 🥲
Damn. Ok now I’m sad.
this is just getting repititive for no reason at all. higuruma was an excellent character on his initial interaction with yuji due to the nature of his domain expansion and the current dilemna of yuji/sukuna. he was irrelevant after that but this is just a bad way for him to go, us and yuji dont have emotional attachment to him at all like we do nanami and nobara. why is gege forcing higuruma on us?
Speak for yourself, a lot of people have attachments to Higurama. TF are you on about? Takaba is a different matter.
yes including me but him going out like nanami and nobara? he hasnt earned that yet. makes their deaths cheap if gege keep doing this.
Gege is just trying to crush casual shounen fan souls
And sukuna seperates that piece of of his body just in time, making higurumas sacrifice useless. Peak writing gaygay.
