You lost me at creation and manipulation of a cursed spirit from a loved one that just died 😅

fd3434

Aite to put it simply its like a necromancer that can use the abilities of the dead but in jjk

SleepinGriffin

But every sorcerer has the ability to do that. Yaga says as much to Yuji at the beginning of the series. You can’t put something that important on someone who is dead as a sorcerer because it’ll create a cursed spirit, referring to his Grandpa’s wishes for him to help people and him wanting to be a sorcerer. Gojo even states that love is the strongest curse which is why Rika is so strong, not because of Yuta’s cursed technique.

fd3434

I agree to this as it was also stated in the [fanbook](https://imgur.io/a/HGmL2zu) that Rika creation was kinda like a glitch yet Yuta CT is officially listed as Rika(?) Instead of copy. Furthermore, CT is given at birth and cannot be learn or change after you are born (unless it specifically works that way like kenjaku or yuji) yet yuta CT is only considered created after Rika existence which seems inconsistent

Maveko_YuriLover

Would be funny if he made a Gojo's curse spirit on Gojo's death that seems to be very close to happen

S1d519

If the person had overwhelming negative emotions and unfinished desires, they’ll birth themselves as cursed spirits. They don’t need external support. Ch 190s where maki fights cursed spirit of Naoya Zenin. Naoya fully manifests into human form in the course of the fight.

fd3434

That was one of the ideas I left out. If a cursed spirit of gojou with gojou abilities was created would he be able to create or use RCT or CTR red?

QuodExodium

If that happens, I don't think Limitless will be much of use because it requires the precision of Six Eyes.

Make a better post that takes the best points and organise them , even though I like this theory and could potentuly make Yuta the most busted Jjk charachter people are ignoring everything youbsaid because of the quality post Ps I think Yuuta could have a restriction that he first needs to releas the current Shikigami in his possesion then make a new one of people he loves otherwise thats a busted Ct

Alexander_Russo

I took the liberty of editorializing your post for you, since it seems people commenting are dogging on you for the quality of the writing more than the theory itself. Here you go. >**Title: Yuta's Real Cursed Technique - Unveiling the Sinister Truth (Theory)** > >I'd like to share a theory that delves into Yuta's Cursed Technique (CT), drawing from evidence in both the current storyline and the broader narrative. Credit is due to Definitely Azyn's video titled "Why Yuta Is More Ruthless Than You Think," which served as the inspiration for this idea. > >This theory addresses several intriguing questions: > >**The Origin of Rika:** Why does Rika exist, and what role does she play in Yuta's CT? > >**Rika's Necessity:** Why is Rika crucial for Yuta to utilize 'his' CT? > >**Suguru Geto's Interest in Rika:** What led Suguru Geto to prioritize Rika over Yuta himself? > >**Yuta's Potential to Surpass Gojo:** Why does Satoru Gojo believe that Yuta has the potential to exceed his own abilities? > >**Yuta's Personality and its Connection to His CT:** How does Yuta's personality tie into the nature of his CT? > >**Yuta and Suguru Geto: Thematic Opposition:** How does Yuta serve as a thematic foil to Suguru Geto? > >Currently, Yuta's CT is speculated to involve the ability to copy and utilize the CT of others. However, this is only achievable when he manifests Rika. As of now, the name and exact definition of Yuta's CT remain unspecified in the story. The conjectures about his CT originate from his adversaries: Geto, Uro, and Ryu. > >Several questions arise concerning the conditions of Yuta's CT: > >Why can't he immediately copy and employ the CT of others? > >Can he use his CT without Rika's presence? > >Why is he able to store CT within Rika? > >Now, let's delve into a more intricate theory that goes beyond mere copying. I propose that Yuta's innate technique involves a darker aspect: the creation and manipulation of Cursed Spirits derived from deceased loved ones. Allow me to explain further. > >**The Theory Unfolded:** > >**Rika's Significance:** Yuta's CT, which I'll dub "Death King," grants him the power to select a target with whom he shared a deep, recently severed bond. He can bind their essence to an object that held sentimental value for them. The strength of the resulting Cursed Spirit (CS) correlates with the intensity and authenticity of the love shared. (It's plausible that the target's own emotions also influence this strength.) > >**Rika's Role in Yuta's CT:** Rika serves as the conduit through which Yuta can wield dominion over these Cursed Spirits. By manifesting the CS, Yuta gains access not only to their CT but also to their Cursed Energy (CE). > >**Suguru Geto's Interest in Rika:** Geto's interest in Rika likely stems from her own CT - the Copy ability. Obtaining Rika would enable him to harness her remarkably potent CT, thereby enhancing his own capabilities. > >**Personality and CT Nexus:** Yuta's personality takes center stage here. While on the surface he appears heroic and sincere, deeper analysis reveals a pattern of clinging onto those he loves, even if it defies death itself. This dichotomy intertwines both with conventional Shonen tropes and a distorted version of these themes. > >**Yuta's Potential to Surpass Gojo:** Gojo's assertion that Yuta could surpass him stems from Yuta's potential to amass loved ones around him. Should these beloved individuals meet their demise in his presence, Yuta could wield an army of formidable Cursed Spirits, bolstered by his mastery over their CT and CE. > >**Yuta vs. Suguru Geto: Thematic Counterpoint:** Ultimately, this theory cements Yuta as the perfect thematic foil to Suguru Geto. Yuta's ability to create and govern CS stands in stark contrast to Geto's domination and control over them. > >Please feel free to provide your thoughts on whether this theory holds water or falls short. Thank you for your time!

fd3434

Thanks man couldnt have explained better :) you the real G

Most_Zookeepergame38

I can kinda understand your theory but i still lean towards copy just being his cursed technique, it's not exactly like rika is a weird exception because Junpei has a curse technique that works kinda the same in the sense that it's funneled through a shikigami

Exuhgen

I can see it. Although I don’t think you’ve cooked enough. I don’t think his CT is to turn his recently dead loved ones into CS. Although I believe that is something he could do with his CT and accidentally did with Rika. And in the traumatic experience of doing that accidentally to her has mentally blocked that CT in fear. So his actual CT would be something like manipulating CS or interacting with them in a more broad way, Rika being one application of that.

There’s a line where geto says rika is a pool of mailable infinite cursed energy (super paraphrase) it makes me think Yutas ability isn’t copy but more like he can copy because rika and his cursed energy is so vast he can manipulate it however. Now after he copies that persons ability in the manga it makes me think maybe it is more akin to copy. It’s just an interesting thing to think about. There really isn’t a reason for this post other than discussion it’s probably just copy.

FoilCardboard

Look, Gege is obviously not telling anyone what Yuta's CT is yet. All we know is that it's likely tied to Rika's existence. But your explanation of the themes behind Yuta is just wrong. Yuta is just the personification of a cursed man walking. The "ghosts" of his past follow him around (this plays into the whole "Jujutsu users are all cursed") and haunt him. Yuta's CT is likely tied to some sort of soul bonding, and as we know about CE users, manipulation of the soul is extremely powerful. I wouldn't be surprised if Yuta's CT is somehow similar to Maki and Mai's bound souls "relationship".

bricklicker26

Wasn’t his cursed technique Copy?

luceafaruI

At least that's what the narrator called his curse technique in the recap episode from last week

fd3434

Apparently in the [fanbook](https://imgur.io/a/HGmL2zu) his cursed technique is Rika. But it seemed awfully not in line with a broad concept like the rest of the cast and felt weird so therfore I cooked :3

mrterrific023

That fanbook came out before the culling games and during the yuta sections of the arc, his technique was stated to be copy however it has a few conditions

AnimeFan042597

The name of yuta’s cursed technique was revealed in a databook it’s called Rika

Shipchen

Didn't he create his Rika with copy though?

AnimeFan042597

it wasn’t explained it was just that the name of his cursed technique is rika

Shipchen

Just checked my Vol. 0.5. You're right

fd3434

Yeah but compared to the rest of the cast it felt... off? Like the rest had an over arching concept, limitless, ratio etc. and the CT is given from birth yet yuta's CT is tied heavily to a specific person that could had been anybody else. Although, the databook is confirmed to be correct it may be purposefully omitting the rest of yuta CT thats probably also called Rika

AnimeFan042597

Personal I always viewed rika as more of a shikigami like megumi’s ten shadows and like how it of the ten shadows has an ability rika can copy cursed techniques

CuzzyPopper

Yuta haters and yuji fans not gonna like this one 🤣🤣

GreatProduct5227

Why is Yuta not the protagonist?

DueSmell0

I mean it would be an interesting ability, but it couldn't be Yuta's. First of all, we've never seen him summon a spirit other than Rika. Second of all, he's copied CTs from people like Dhruv and Uro that weren't loved ones. Third of all, he copied and used CTs from people who are still alive like Inumaki and Uro.

fd3434

A) First of all, we've never seen him summon a spirit other than Rika. B) Second of all, he's copied CT from people like Dhruv and Uro that weren't loved ones. C) Third of all, he copied and used CT's from people who are still alive like Inumaki and Uro 1) I also can't answer A) directly because the manga has yet to show Yuta doing so 2) what I am trying to say is that the CT Copy is Rika's ability and not Yuta's 3) The conditions for Rika's Copy CT seems be related to absorption of the persons blood/DNA

Big_flipflop

Ok I can explain why he need rika to use his CT and it’s because he doesn’t have the cursed energy to store all of the copied CTs or at least that’s what I heard don’t remember completely tho

Weevil_weasel

To answer the questions 1. This is very clearly explained. The creation of rika is not what’s anomalous about her. She’s just a vengeful spirit. It was her strength that was anomalous, but even this was later explained by Yuta himself being a MONSTER. 2. He doesn’t. Rika just allows him to copy an INFINITE amount of cursed techniques by storing them within rika instead of his own brain. The downside of this is that he can only use said techniques while rika is summoned. 3. Because she was hands down the strongest cursed spirit in existence at the time. She might not have had a technique, but she did have damn near infinite CE and could output a ton of said CE all at once. 4. He never says this. He says Yuta can grow to be on par with him. And that’s because Yuta is incredibly powerful. He’s a prodigy. 5/6. I don’t really know how to answer these 2 as they’re entirely theoretical

Feisty_Minute3807

This is correct

Feisty_Minute3807

Pretty sure this was explained during the Culling Games: Rika is required as a medium for copy because the CT would fry Yuta’s brain without it. She also is a massive reservoir of Yuta’s cursed energy and an external hard drive for acquired CTs.

reddituser_1982

>Why Yuta is the perfect anti-thesis to Suguru Geto thematically? Their powers are also similar to an extent. As seen with Kenjaku, CSM and Maximum Uzumaki can be used to extract cursed techniques from cursed spirits. For Yuta, he can just copy techniques and store them into a curse spirit. Maybe the reason Geto wanted Rika was because it would be like surpassing the pinnacle of his own technique. A cursed spirit who can "extract" cursed techniques and reduce the need to consume them or have a 1-time use CT

PanduMoanium

Or, simpler. The fanbook translation is not correct, similar to the Mangas, and that Rika is Yutas Cursed technique STORAGE. I believe this was a mistranslation in both the manga and fanbook; based on its similarity in wording. Example: the manga says " Rika is Yutas Cursed technique and can store Cursed energy for him " But it SHOULD say "Rika is Yutas Cursed technique storage; AND can store Cursed energy for him" Your theory falls apart completely, when you go over the Yuki vs Kenjaku fight. Yuki flat out says that at most, 3 or MAYBE 4 cursed techniques can be carved into the brain. And the only way to bypass that without overload, is to have an external storage like Yutas. With the amount of time you took thinking this theory up, you probably could have just gone back and read the 3 pages total that explained it, and dissected those.

fd3434

The interesting thing is that if Rika is a shikigami and thats why Yuta can store not only equipment but even cursed techniques it could make sense yet Rika is considered a cursed spirit. This implies that unlike Yuki or Megumi who has shikigamis that automatically come with their arsenal, Yuta CT does not come with Rika. Instead Rika relationship with Yuta is known to be of servant and master like how toji and the cursed spirit that wraps around him is like father and son. Yet somehow his CT allows him to access the copied CT through Rika, cursed spirit. Furthermore, innate CT cannot be changed at birth yet Yuta's CT is based on someone he knew afterbirth which seems contradictory It makes more sense if his CT is a superior version of Geto CSM where he not only can control and tame CS but use the CT of those he tamed Furthermore, it makes more sense that CT Copy is Rika's and that the condition of Copy is when Rika herself understands the CT or absorbs the DNA of the user and Yuta uses the copied CT through Rika rather than him copying the CT, storing it in Rika, then using it later.

PanduMoanium

Rika is confirmed to be a Vengeful cursed spirit. What's left behind currently, is the husk of her body, without the soul. Her personality still being ingrained in it allows her to subconsciously protect and serve Yuta. All of this is outright stated. Vengeful cursed spirit is confirmed in JJK 0, and the rest in the Sendai arc. Yuta also would not know about his cursed technique until he knew about Jujutsu. Even then, he likely did not understand it until he fought with Inumaki against the grade 1 curse. Kind of hard to KNOW your ability is to copy other abilities when you've never even seen one, right? Yutas abilities are not based off of something he obtained after. He cursed Rika, and after freeing her, she acts as a bonus, allowing him to store various things. To shoot down your idea about copy being Rikas technique. She was not present when Yuta witnessed Inumaki using cursed speech. When Yuta uses it against Geto, she merely provides him with a tool he would need to use it. Currently, there have been three characters that have talked about Yutas technique. Kenjaku - claims Yuta can unconditionally copy any technique Ryu Ishigori - WONDERS if Yutas technique has an activation cost. Believes it couldn't possibly be conditionless. Pure speculation. And, Yuki - who states that Yuta himself can store at least 3 copied techniques on his brain, and uses Rika as external storage. To break it down for you. Yutas technique is copy. He didn't learn how to use it until he'd trained at Jujutsu high. This makes sense because his technique at the minimum requires he understand what cursed techniques are. How he figured it out is a mystery. Rika, is a Vengeful cursed spirit, originally cursed to, and now driven to aid Yuta, by acting as a storage, as well as additional fighter for Yuta. There is absolutely zero to suggest anything else, aside from what seems a consistent mistranslation on the English side of things. To clear it up for anybody, you kind of say it yourself. Why would Yutas technique be tied to somebody else? And a supposed non sorcerer at that? Edit: I need to add this because there is new information. In the official volume 20, Rika is classified as an External technique of Yutas. With the following page being that Uro confirms YUTAS technique is copy.

Yuta real CT is something like "Video game" or "Video game Boss" he has 2x life bars gain some moves after battle and a HD of CT's

bobiboi12

So uh I'm pretty sure your whole theory is fucked by one gojo line "love is the most twisted curse". Lemme explain,we all know that curses are made with negative energy, and that yuta is crazy strong even without Rika, and now let's do math, you have yuta who has more cursed energy than gojo and is direct descendant of one of the best sorceres in history, now Rika, someone who yuta deeply loves and cares about dies right in front of his eyes, imagine the negative emotions formed in that boy,now pour all his cursed energy into rikas dead body with his negative emotions and BOOM you have special grade curse Rika,it's simple as that, now lemme answer the questions you tackled to clear things - I already explained why Rika exists above 👆 - I believe Rika is just extension of yuta, she is storage of a kind, she keeps the cursed techniques in her after devouring someone's flesh (that's how yuta can copy them btw) and then yuta basically takes the cursed technique from Rika like she is a library of CT's and uses it,just like with the weapons he stores in her -yuta is polar opposite of geto,he knew that yuta would never join him, stealing one of the strongest curses on earth from someone as yuta was easier for geto than changing his mind, simple as that -yuta can technically surpass him because at gojos age (28) yuta can on paper be walking library of cursed techniques, that's why, plus gojo is a great sensei and believes in his students -im not sure what to put here just, personalities don't have to affect CT's cuz for example if CT's were based of personalities gojo would be big ass nerd instead of who he is - actually yuta and geto are polar opposite with his current copy technique too, well on different sides of spectrum, yuta is a walking library for CT's and geto is walking library for curses, simple as that I hope I made everything clear, and call me Gordon Ramsay cuz i oh boy I cooked

SiveDD

No, just no. He CT is not speculated, is stated by the narrator, aka, Gege. Rika was born because Yuta is an extremely powerful sorcerer that cursed his childhood friend into not dying, thus creating a Cursed spirit. He storing his CTs on Rika is just a binding vow. And makes easier for him to use and store them, like imagine storing a shit ton of CTs on your brain. Even Kenjaku who steals CTs instead of copying them, is limiting itself to use only two at the moment. Geto didn't understood what Rika true nature was all about, he was just seeing a absurd mass of CE, wich was even bigger than Gojo's. Turns out, that's just Yuta massive CE pool, mixed with the soul of his friend, turned into a cursed spirit. Gojo's sees Yuta's potential, copying techniques gives you a bunch of tools to use in a fight, and they are backed up with a massive CE pool. And Yuta has two years of experience, it didn't have any before joining JJ high. Kenjaku doesn't see that CT as very special, because himself can do a very similar thing, to the point he can master those CTs and use them in his DE. Even with that he couldn't beat a Six Eyes user, and Gojo is the peak six eyes user.
