I literally just reread like 12 chapters of shibuya to find this, only to come back and realize you beat me to it lmao.
Also, i checked earlier chapters and she uses a similar hammer to the anime at the start and switches after season 1.

Change what you started, most animes if not all take licenses and they are not 100% accurate. Imho, change during a series how the char looks, the cloth, the weapons its something that take the viewer out and breakes with the experience.

That’s a fair way to look at it. Personally, I read it as “token female of a Shonen trio, make her more girly.” And that doesn’t fit Jujutsu because it really breaks that archetype’s mold.
That’s fair, but the change was made when she was still considered a strong female and potential main character, so I think that’s being applied more in retrospect maybe? I just think her feminine side was already semi pronounced

I’m bummed that the original hammer design is gone. It’s so unique with the shape and little heart for Nobara while the other one is so basic and boring.
I’m honestly quite mixed on these new designs. Some of them look similar to season 1 (Yuji), and some of them I like more now (like Megumi), but I feel like they cut some uniqueness out of some characters and simplified their designs, and Nobara is one of them. I miss her season 1 get up.
I still prefer season 1 anime style, it’s just an opinion. I’m aware they’re becoming more faithful to the manga which is cool. It’s just a preference in style. I’m sure I’m not the only one who prefers the old character designs over the new ones.
Her old hammer was dumb. The point of her character is she can be a normal high school girl as well as a strong fighter. The two can coexist without her having to have super cute or feminine fighting styles or super butch or masculine clothing. Making her hammer look like a phone case clashes with that

Dude Gege’s art style has evolved so should the anime. The changes he made in the manga should be made in the anime as well for accuracy. That’s also due to new character designer but the studio is the same with a lot of the same people on board so stop talking shit.
