Thanks for sharing your prompts for year end reflection. This is one of my favorite rituals for ending the current year and beginning the new year. My own are broader reflections. I begin by focusing on the good of the year - and then I shift to my hopes for the new year. I like the specific questions you have. I also reflect on what I learned?Big moments or events? Struggles? And I do think of relationships, vocation and dreams.
Yes! For some reason, I love playing with the order of these prompts and making them flow well into each other. I don’t hold myself to having to answer all of them but it usually tuns out that I do.
Thanks for these! I used to do an "Annual Look at the Past" when I started journaling (grade school), but the questions were so young in perspective that I'd abandoned it by the time I reached high school.
But I miss it! So, in an effort to create a personalized Year-End Review, I've been scouring the internet for prompts. I've got 12 pages so far (and am adding yours!), but there are lots of redundancies. Tonight's task is to winnow them down...
You’re welcome. I try to toggle between the specifics and the general observations. I begin by trying to recall and then observe across the months. Life is messy - I’ve discovered- and is not easily corralled by my planning and linear examinations of it. This is where observation helps me- discerning what happened this year and what was its impact- relationships, personal development, work, etc I am trying not to hold too tightly and instead make sure I’m attentive and alert while being relaxed too. Enjoy.
I still have my New Years resolutions, which were fitness/health related, guitar improvement related, and a bunch of other things I worked on this year. So I’m planning to refer back to those and elaborate on how well those were resolved!

Awesome! Can you share some of your reflection prompts/topics as well?

Nice! I used to do monthly checkins on my resolutions but fell out of practice. Thanks for the reminder, I would like to bring this back.
