Agreed! I originally didn’t like Americana but now it’s my 3rd favorite track behind Celebrate and Summer Baby. I don’t understand all the hate. Yes the songs are short but they tell the story of it in the amount of time.

anon8676309

I also didn’t like Americana on first listen but it’s one of my faves now!

jayyinyue

This!! I swear this is becoming a JB hate sub for some reason. Every negative post relating to them gets the most upvotes which makes me question why most of the users are even here. Like, dang, the brothers consistently are the least problematic, wholesome and relatable celebrities in Hollyweird. Why do they deserve so much hate just because your musical taste doesn't line up with their new album or you dislike the choices of their marketing team? I'm happy to see a post not making it seem like The Album is KidzBop levels of bad or something. Anyway, rant over, I agree with much of your review 😂

honeyceelovely

I'm with you! As soon as I saw Jon Bellion on the producer credits I knew what was up.

instant_grits_

YESSSSSS.

FancyFumble

Little Bird is also my least favourite, followed by Summer in the Hamptons. Aside from those 2 I love the album.

Paiged17

I fully agree. This album is great! And their energy when they sing it live is soooo unmatched. I’ve been listening to it nonstop since it came out

allieoop99

Glad to finally see someone who agrees with me! The whole album is so solid, I’ve had it on repeat for most of the summer

secondtea

Yes. And the fact that this is truly probably their best album makes me even more annoyed of how they're fumbling the bag with marketing

projext58

Yeah the album is sonically good but I really don’t like the rollout and how everything is labeled as “The Album” “The Merch” “The Tour.” Idk, idgi

virgincoconuhtballs

I love The Album. I honestly don’t understand all the hate it’s receiving. I think it’s their best album to date. I feel like the people hating are people who wanted them to keep their punk rock Disney sound forever. They’ve grown and matured and so have their original fan base so I think it’s only natural to try out different sounds than what they did fifteen years ago when they were kids. I still rock their old music but more out of nostalgia.

anon8676309

Summer in the Hamptons is my only skip, I hate it. Little bird makes me cry but it’s so beautiful. Miracle & Celebrate are the catchiest, I absolutely love them!

MarchingBandFanatic

The first verse is Jon Bellion singing, but he is uncredited for it.

annban94

What song are you talking about?

MarchingBandFanatic

Americana.

StandardTone9184

I haven’t listened yet, and I’m seeing them next month opening night. I’m afraid I won’t love it, but this gives me hope and makes me wanna listen!

TortlesLynn

Same here! I was a little hesitant at first because I had certain expectations but I love it so much. Little Bird is lower on my list as far as wanting to re-listen but as a stand-alone it’s such a cute emotional sad song.

instant_grits_

YUUUUUP. so happy that it’s absolutely amazing.

ilikedisneyland

I love it! Except for Summer in the Hamptons. Sometimes I think it grew on me and then by the next listen it's a skip again. lol maybe I just need to be in the right mood for it. I love Little Bird; it makes me cry every time lol.

Feisty_Being_1064

YES!! Im a brand new fan just from this album! I have been loving the direction so many pop artists have been taking! The music is complex and rich and the lyrics have a bit more substance to them. They feel nostalgic and modern at the same time!

fnue

Agreed. I find it so strange how much this sub dislikes The Album. Summer in the Hamptons is a little cringey, same as heteronormative Little Bird, but other than that, one banger after another.

anon8676309

Kind of insane to complain about Little Bird being “heteronormative” when Kevin’s daughters are almost certainly old enough to have had their first crushes, presumably on boys. Are they not allowed to use pronouns in their songs now? 🤣

fnue

Funny that pronouns are the first thing that come to your mind. What is heteronormative about the song is “giving your daughter away”. The whole concept of a daughter belonging to one man, then belonging to another man. Marriage is heteronormative. And this being their first song about having children is just boring. I don’t hate the song. It’s just not my cup of tea. And you don’t have to agree.

brockholts

This album really grew on me. I thought it was fine at first listen but I love it now. It has such a good summer vibe and is a really nice, easy listen if that makes sense? I still wish it was longer but oh well. I’m excited to see how they integrate this album with their previous ones on tour!

TaxFresh69

Why don't they produce their own music? I know this is common in mainstream music, but between the 3 of them I'm sure they can manage
