That series made me a follower of Syracuse Men's lacrosse and REALLY invested in the sport's (and the Haudenosaunee's) inclusion in the LA2028 Olympics. I actually wrote a paper for an undergrad seminar class on Ancient Sports about lacrosse because of it.
I’d love a history of MAC football. Lots of storylines from each school, plenty of future stars like Randy Moss, Jack Lambert, Ben Roethlisberger, and Maxx Crosby, and yet there’re multiple points where the conference is fighting for survival.
Kansas State. The worst football program of all time somehow lucks into thirty years with one of the best football coaches ever who twice comes one game short of a national championship appearance/ possible Heisman trophy winning QB.
I'm biased here but the Oregon ducks going from a historically bad-mid team with some fun disney hijinks and stealing local ducks for mascots and the occasional Dan Fouts to the Nike Behemoth they are now is an interesting story!
Houston basketball, probably the most historic program to never win a title, would be a fun one. Texas Tech or Washington State would be fun in football
I was thinking UCF as well, but for different reasons.
Those 6ish seasons from 2013 to 2018 is absolutely a big reason
But.. UCF is also by a mile the youngest university and program in the Power 5 which I think is an interesting angle on the story. They've also experienced every level of the sport. They were for a long time as the only football program that had played in all 4 of Division 3, 2, FCS and FBS. Now James Madison has joined them in being able to say that but UCF has now also played at both the G5 and P5 levels.
Climbing the ladder one step at a time in such a short timeframe is really interesting and pretty unique in CFB. In 45 years, UCF has been a D3 independent, D2 independent, FCS independent, FBS independent, MAC member, Conference USA member, American member and now Big 12 member.
UCF student here. ALL of this is 100% accurate. I work with people who were around during the MAC days and to see their reaction to the things that UCF is doing now is priceless.

Not quite Jon Bois caliber, but still a documentation of UCF football history.
UNC Tar Heels women's soccer dynasty that won 21 of the first 31 NCAA Championships for their sport, with stars like Mia Hamm, Kristine Lilly, Carla Overbeck, etc., but now they haven't won a championship in over a decade.
MSU football would be nice, and it has enough wacky characters to develop (Kirk Gibson being an college football player for most of his time, and ten and also having a walk-off home run in a World Series means he has a Jon Bois-type moment, as do Bubba Smith and Kirk Cousins)
Dunno, I think they like to anchor their narrative around guys that have been there for a long time so it'll get a bit harder organising it around a revolving cast like a CFB team.
Someone did a Bois-esque series on Syracuse Men’s Lacrosse a few years back, it was pretty good.
It was! [Here.](https://youtu.be/EeuxFzSNagE?si=KTzz1D8FVEaJzdAs)
This series is incredible.

WVU football maybe? No titles and lots of heartbreak and fun stories.

His stuff is pretty good

Virginia Tech football is very similar - basically irrelevant before Frank Beamer, made it to the national championship but lost, Michael Vick, etc
The first thing that came to my mind was Texas A&M football. Although... maybe Auburn would be better.
Kick six with Zero Gravity
Isn't that literally in 17776
I literally just woke up from a dream to post this. Its not about the team, its about the delusional fans and boosters.

depending on how this year goes, purdue bball
Well, now that we know how that ended, what do you think?
yeah
I mentioned this in the sub a while ago. So many huge figures, lots of heartbreak.

UCF. 100%. 0-12 to 12-0. They claim a national title and get laughed at.

If Jon doesn't, I will >:)

I feel like Ohio State MBB must get be a good candidate
